I like Dr Bassell and his nursing staff but the front desk staff needs help. The Dr called a Rx…read moreinto CVS which they found out needed to be pre-approved by my insurance company first. CVS sent the request to the Dr's office but received no response. I called the front desk staff and they said they didn't receive the form from CVS yet. I called CVS again and they said they don't send a form, they send the number where the Dr's office needs to call to get pre-approval. CVS said they sent it 3 times and showed it went through successfully. I called back to the Dr's office again and they said they didn't have anything from CVS for me. Really?!?! Forget it. I guess I don't need the meds as much as I thought, so I also won't need that follow up visit in 1 year either. Find competent staff or you're going to keep losing patients.

My father was being treated by Dr. Paul Arnold for bladder cancer…read more My father was told he needed to have his bladder removed due to the cancer. Dr. Paul Arnold told my father he would schedule this surgery to be performed at either North Pinellas Hospital or Mease Countryside Hospital. This was told to my father November 2014. Dr. Paul Arnold never scheduled this surgery. There was always an excuse. When my father was diagnosed terminal - sorry nothing more I can do for you- my dad told us he was given false hope from the one person he thought would give him more years to live, that he trusted to care for him. My father died of bladder cancer April 1, 2015.

If I could give this business less than one star, I would…read more I have never felt compelled to review a medical practice, although at times they can try anyone's patience. Unfortunately, society has conditioned us to put up with long waiting times and less than respectful treatment. Dr Arnold is the worst of the worst, in our opinion. My husband was scheduled for a procedure and when he showed up for it. was told that it was an evaluation to see if he was a candidate for the procedure, however, he already had that appointment. When he told the doctor this information, the doctor became irate and yelled at him saying that he was the doctor and he makes all the decisions and why did a patient think he would know more than a doctor? My husband was a taken back by this and asked him to just explain why he needed the procedure. Dr Arnold said "would you like me to dumb it down for you?" I'll talk real slow so you can understand. He then pushed and pushed my husband to make an appointment for the "Rezum" treatment which is for the opposite condition that my husband has. Needless to say he canceled his appointment as soon as he got home. My husband thinks this procedure is Dr. Arnold's, go to, bread and butter treatment for any and all males that see him. Follow the money, as they say. Although this experience happened almost a week ago, I can't help but worry about a patient we chatted with in the waiting room. This gentleman and his wife drove more than two hours to see Dr Arnold for a life saving procedure that "only Dr Arnold can do and is not covered by insurance." He's a prostate cancer patient with very few options, given his previous prostate cancer treatment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. Many doctors have a bad bedside manner but this guy takes the cake. It's not easy convincing my husband to seek medical attention. After this experience, it will be even tougher.

Had a really good experience with my husbands vasectomy. This is a big choice and most men I think…read moreare scared to even google what it is. I think that the office can use a bit of sprucing up and the website to be upgraded a bit. It's a pretty self explanatory process. You just go to the site. Watch a video. Pay your deposit and then set up your appt. the day of the appointment you meet face to face with the doctor and the procedure is done within 15 mins or less. They give you a sheet of rules to follow which basically says no strenuous activity for a few days. My husband didn't complain of discomfort just slight burn which disappeared the next day. So far so good and would recommend going to this office over others in the Bay Area hands down. They didn't take our insurance but honestly I would pay any amount of money to go with a trusted surgeon on such a delicate matter. Lastly, the doctor gave us his business card to call with any questions. When my husband called with a few questions. The doctor actually answered the phone and answered his questions. When does any doctor give their contact info now and days??? Never! Great job and appreciate it!
