Today I had the chance to see a new CNA Monica Hodge of the Daytona office. I honestly didn't know what to expect. She introduced, her self. She explained what she was going to do and asked a few questions. She knew all about me and my diagnoses. I was very thankful for that. Then we got right to work. She explained everything that she had to do and explained to me what I had to do to keep my health up. She answered all my questions and answered in a manner that I understood what she was saying. I am so thankful that I was able to meet and get my checkup from her. Very nice young lady. read more

Type of care is fast to rush you out. Office sucks, they called me to confirm appointment, I called back trinity and Palm Harbor offices. On hold pressed 2 together a call back probably 10 times. Never got a call back from them. total time when someone finally answered no exaggeration 2 hour. I told them cancel my appointment and I will not be coming back. read more

I'm a new patient and Dr. Kumar will not follow through with filling my testosterone script. I call my old urologist Dr. Heron who is now 100 miles away after I moved. Dr.Heron is not getting back with me. I have been true to Dr. Heron for years and he unfortunately is starting to slack in his job. I have been trying both doctors for a week now and it's crickets! The receptionist at both locations are rude and un helpful. Dr. Herons receptionist wouldn't even hear me out before she hung up on me. I have old injectable testosterone that Dr. Heron prescribed to me a couple years ago. Feeling crappy because of no androgel testosterone for a week now I'm tempted to get a syringe and hope that makes me feel better. Thanks for pushing me into this position. Please pray I don't get ill. read more

Facts: March 2025: My husband is scheduled for a biopsy following prostate exam. April 2025: My husband is diagnosed with prostate cancer following biopsy, next step is PET scan. May 16, 2025: We arrive to go over PET scan with Radiologist, but when we arrive, husband's catheter is leaking. They send us to Urology, where my husband sat for 45 minutes in the waiting room, leaking urine on the carpet. I asked the front desk for towels and informed them what was happening, but they ignored me. We were given an additional 15 minutes to read the results of the PET scan, so I asked the front desk for gloves and proceeded to FIX my husband's catheter in front of everyone so we could go back next door to get our results. This office proved to be useless to help in this matter. May 20, 2025 - my husband visits AUI website and clicks a link to get his medical records in hand, because we wanted a second opinion. He filled out a series of forms, docu-signed and received a confirmation number. May 27, 2025, a week later, we arrived at the appointment and there were NO medical records ready. The front desk informed us they are not trained to do this type of work and she never had to meet this website request before. How is that OUR problem? I asked the Doctor why they gave my husband a hormone blocker for his cancer that has a side effect of brittle bones, and calcium leeching out of the bones and they never recommended he supplement with calcium. The doctor hems and haws and doesn't have an appropriate answer. At this point, my husband has been in a catheter for almost a month and we asked the doctor to CHANGE IT. The doctor insisted that he wanted it removed, but my husband was reluctant. Every time my husband tried to speak, the doctor cut him off and wouldn't let him talk until I stopped the doctor mid-sentence and asked my husband to share what he wanted to say. How rude. He remembered prior to getting the catheter inserted, he was not able to void on his own, but Dr. Sher insisted and they removed it. Six hours later, he still couldn't void on his own and we were at the office, asking for the catheter to be put BACK INTO place, but the doctor was refusing. The nurse told us we could be waiting until 8 pm, in which case their office would be closed and the only way to get him catheterized would be by going to the emergency room. At this point I threatened to call 911 to get an ambulance to the office to take him to the hospital and they finally relented and put the cath back in. That's when we decided that this was NOT the office to take CARE of my husband's stage 4 prostate cancer, or anything else. read more

The office kept losing paperwork couldn't get my fiancé in for four months while he was in extreme pain and when he got there, they were rude and everyone in the office was complaining because of all the scheduling canceling and just rudeness then the doctor told him he needed to find a different type of surgeon,, but refused to give him a referral. this office has absolutely no compassion. Update to my 22 August Review: The lack of any customer service value from this staff again rears its ugly head. After my review, I got a voice mail from "Glenda" a "Practice Manager" at AUI. She left a number to call back. I did and the number leads you into their IVR system where no humans ever answer the phone. So I selected the option to leave a message for my practice provider team. 2 days later I left a message with their after hours operator who sends all messages to a central server for staff to look at the next day. So far, no call back from Glenda. I am sure she checked a square that "she called and left a VM" and could care less if she ever spoke to me to understand the issues. Also the CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Solaris Health (yes, a large corporation with many geographical divisions owns AUI) haven't bothered to respond either. Had a large kidney stone and was in the hospital with blood in the urine. Hospital said to make an appointment with Urologist. Called, on the phone 25 minutes finally a response to call back was made and left message, no response. Called the next day left message, called again left message. Someone called back, took my all of my information said someone would call back. no one did. Called after 3 more days and left message. no one called back. Went to the office and spoke to front desk receptionist. She had a poor condescending attitude saying that someone will call you back. None of my information was put into the records as of yet and I had to wait for a referral. Funny, I told the first person that I did NOT need a referral and reiterated that to the receptionist. Her only response was that someone would call me back. I asked when and she didn't reply. If you want to stay in pain and bleed when you pee this is a place to go, otherwise look elsewhere. The attitude of the staff is reflective of the Drs they work for. read more

While I do understand the circumstances regarding appointment cancelations due to illness from a person working in Inverness. Due to those circumstances, the other doctors in the office should be able to share and pick up the slack. $ appointments and 4 cancelations. When we called the office was RUDE and unapologetic. I seriously would NOT recommend Advanced Urology to anybody. Unfortunately, if you live in this area, they are the only Urologists I can find when searching for a new Doctor. The appointment cancelations started in July 2024 and continue to this day. Horrible! read more

Unfortunately, we never got in to see the doctor because we couldn't get past the office people. My father was a patient of Advanced Urology for over 20 years at another doctor's office! We switched to a closer location, since he moved into senior living housing. As we understand the policy is to show a picture ID at time of service. We understand that is important but my 90 year old father had changed shorts just before leaving and we forgot to switch his wallet. They looked up information from the other office and retrieved his insurance information but since the other office never scanned his license they wouldn't let us see the doctor, even after promising we would have it by the time the MD visit was over (my sister was driving over to get his wallet and then to the doctor's office, but this would take an hour or more). They refused. I asked to speak to the manager and they said 'they don't have one'. Only until we were leaving (after 2 hours of trying to get his license to them and pleading that we were a regular customer of Advanced Urology and Baycare) did she provide a number for 'her manager', whom she said would have done the same thing. Well, that was not true. The manager would allow us to visit the MD as scheduled since the other office were at fault not scanning his license (which having been a patient of Advanced Urology for over 20 years they likely didn't scan licenses back then), with a promise we would have the ID before we left. I agreed because my sister was coming. We went back to the office and we went directly in. Little did we know that they canceled our appointment so we weren't on the books anymore and the doctor had left for the day. So we were never established as a patient there. Even worse, the office person said we were going to pay out of pocket for visit the staff (who are actually 'kids') about condom catheter sizes that is used for an external catheter. We never agreed to this out of pocket payment. This was a nightmare experience. VERY SAD this is the biggest urology provider of Florida. They should shut down for how they treated an outstanding member of society; navy veteran, firefighter. They could care less about elevating the outstanding circumstance to a manager that would handle things differently. And both front desk employees said they didn't have a manager. That's ridiculous. My debiliated father with bacteremia sat in the wheelchair for almost 2 hours. A loyal patient to Advance Urology for over 20 years was denied care because he forgot his wallet and because the Largo office forgot to scan his license in February of this year. As POA, I offered my license. Again, they couldn't think outside the box. I could go on and on, but it doesn't matter, we won't go back. I should have stayed with MD who saw him in the hospital who is not with this big corporation. Too big is usually always too bad. This occurred in Westchase office with previous office was in Largo. I write this hoping corporate will make sure people are not treated so badly. When unsuspected circumstances arise, there is always a solution when compassionate care is the goal. It is not the goal of this office. Having been a previous patient of Dr. Raval myself, I am saddened I made the switch for my father from the Largo office to Weschase Florida. read more

Honestly, this place is not, under the best of circumstances kinda sucks. No one wants to go to see the urologist, and while if I NEVER saw this place again I'd be thrilled, BUT.... If I find myself in need, this is a great practice. Dr. Taub made my horrendous day as good as it could have been. His patience with me throughout a very difficult day was unparalleled. If you do not stay booked throughout the year with them,they may take steps including dismissal from their practice.. their staffs response was "I know it's brutal, but that's what it is." Worst experience with this Doctor. He has no concern no care what his patients thinks. His staff is just as bad. The nightmare of cancer then to have to deal with a doctor and staff that could care less for his patients was just sickening. Then when you want to transfer Urologist his staff tells the new urologist you are difficult so it is hard to get away from this nightmare. Made an appointment which took approximately 4 weeks to get in; took the day off work, the office called and rescheduled it 2 days before hand. Wasted day of vacation -- thanks for that! Arrived for appointment #2 and was told that I would need to be rescheduled again as I was 3 minutes late in arriving. The waiting room was full with 6-8 people already waiting so you know that they were NOT running on time anyway! If you are a new patient you have to return your paperwork at least 1 day prior to your appointment and there are no on line resources to accomplish this task! AUI's expectations are unrealistic and not at all patient friendly unless you are retired or unemployed! Will look for another patient centered provider with compassion for healthcare instead in of making money! read more

I have literally been trying to get ahold of someone in the Inverness office via telephone since Monday July 20th. No one answers the phone and we have left repeated messages. Not one phone call back!! My boyfriend has multiple kidney stones and the ER doctor told him he needed to see a urologist as soon as possible. I don't know what else to do! read more

The Consent form had been copied some many times that it was extremely hard to read. I noticed that it said that they could basically do anything they wanted with any DNA samples they took. I didn't want to sign that part and was told that if I didn't I could see the Doctor. I had already gotten Ultrasound and X-ray for the appointment. I have been going to this office for over 30 years. I guess not any more. read more

Dr. Rag did emergency prostate surgery on my husband and he was everything you could hope for and more. He was extremely thorough, and acted quickly when had to. Since then I too have been using Dr Raj as my urologist and I think he's great. read more

I would give less than one star if I could. HORRIBLE office staff. I have kidney stones that need treatment. I called the Inverness office on 12/02/21 to make an appointment. I was told by Suzi that I needed to get my nephrologist to send over a referral and then they could schedule an appointment. I asked how long would it be from that point? I was told appointments were available and after they have the referral that I could get in in about a week. I had to drive over an hour to go to the office of my nephrologist, they are incompetent as well, to make sure they faxed over the referral while I was there in the office. I called Advanced Urology Inverness again on 12/03/2021 to verify that the referral was received. Suzi answered and verified that they received it and it was in "review" and that I would be called when it was approved for an appointment. Hearing nothing, I called the Inverness office yet again on 12/08/2021 and spoke to Suzi again and this time I'm told there is no referral that she can see!!!!! They have frustrated me into going elsewhere! They have delayed me into my next insurance cycle and cost me money, time and caused aggravation and frustration all the while putting my health at risk. Avoid this practice as they are unprofessional and totally inept at the office level. A practice can have the greatest doctors in the world but if their support staff is incompetent or understaffed, your experience will still be terrible. read more

I've come to the location on Racetrack road 3 times. Each time I've had to wait at least 30 minutes to be called into a room. The last time I was the second patient of the day. I don't understand how you can be that behind on the second patient. Our time is valuable as well. Although the care was decent I'll be finding another place that values my time. read more

Have attempted to make an appointment, per my primary care physician. It has been over a month and office does not call back, make excuses NOT to schedule an appointment, oh must have a referral, oh must be a specific doctor, oh must be a specific location. My insurance states I do not have to have a referral, but I did all that was requested now they claim they can't find the faxed referral. This place seems shady, one office claims they cannot connect to another. Called central scheduling to try a different route, never returned call. Were not polite and made excuses for their staff instead of manning (or womanning) up and taking responsibility for their failed actions. Still waiting to get an appointment. Unfortunately they are the only game in town. Need additional options and better customer service. read more

If you value your health, which I'm sure you do, avoid this urologist and Advanced Urologists Institute. I am 65 and in my whole adulthood I have never dealt with a more dysfunctional and incompetent doctor and office. Records are not kept current, referrals this office sends you to are never followed up on or documented, appointments cancelled when you are in the office waiting to be examined loosing work days.... I could go on and on. Originally visited for a low testosterone count only to have to walk away from them three months later because I am no further along in treatment than before my first appointment. From the lack of management and the constant excuses from the office manager Lisa, dealing with errors and arrogance from their nurse Jennifer, being referred to another doctor by their referral team member Shannon but then Shannon never documenting she made the referral so no follow up was completed after my appointment with their referral and then being told to obtain all results from testing myself (?!), never receiving any return phone calls..... I could go on and on about the incompetence demonstrated by literally everyone in that office. So, after three months completely wasted, I am now searching for a new urologist. Again, do yourself a favor and avoid Advanced Urology and Dr. DeSautel. read more
