TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE they've had my car since 31 March 2020 and told me my car will be done by 4 April 2020(After calling them multiple times to check on the status). Throughout the waiting period they never called me to keep me updated I had to keep contacting them! Then 4 April comes and they said my car won't be ready until 6 April. It is 6 April and they have yet to call me to tell me my car is ready for pick up. I called, left a voicemail on the salesman's phone, sent a text and an email and still no reply. On 9/1/21 I towed my truck to this business and I paid Dennis Jones of AARCO Transmission & Auto Repair on 09/02/21 $700 and on 09/10/21 $560. A total of $1260.00 in advance for him to order parts to repair my truck. He promised the work to be done in one week, unfortunately I believed him and took his word for it. After several weeks that had passed I went to the shop to check on the status of my truck and it was still sitting untouched. He told me he was trying to order parts but couldn't locate them. I patiently waited several more weeks and still nothing had been accomplished on my truck. I called and he would decline my calls and texts so I went AGAIN to his shop and supposedly he finally ordered the parts and was waiting for them to be delivered. I heard every excuse that a person can come up with. From birthdays and weddings he had to attend, to deaths in the family to being sick and losing workers in his shop...it was unreal with the excuses! I again took his word for it when he promised it would be worked on over the weekend and would be ready by Monday. Monday came and went and no call. My daughter called him from her phone since he would decline my calls. He promises her that he would have it ready as soon as he can and it would be that week for sure and that he will call me when it was ready to be picked up. Still nothing on Wednesday or Thursday or Friday of that week. I was finally fed up with the run around, tired of being patient and understanding after nearly THREE months. So on that Saturday my daughter and I pop in to pick up my truck and requested a refund for the work he never started nor the parts he ever ordered. When I arrived he became irrational and uncooperative when I asked for my truck back. He didn't want to let me take it and barked at me to get out of his shop. My truck was not running so I needed to remove it by a tow truck. He had it backed into his shop with other vehicles surrounding it so I could not take it unless he moved those vehicles. Because he was not agreeing I had no choice but to call the police for assistance. He then let me remove my vehicle but would not refund me my money because he said he didn't have it. Again he promises he will refund me my money in one week and it is now 12/19/21 and I still have not received my refund. I have called and no answer. I have left voice messages and text messages and nothing in return. I went to his shop and he has his gate locked so no one can enter the property. I am filing a court case in the morning to recover my $1260. I am a 78 year old man that he stole from. He should be ashamed of himself for his lack of integrity. This is a fraudulent business...you have been warned. read more

I found Aarco transmission repair through Better Business Bureau following an ongoing transmission issue which was un-resolved at another garage (Pep-Boys, ugh). I had been searching for something that was "in network" preferably, for our warranty company. Though not in network, I was contacted by Rudy following my request through bbb.org. I explained the problems I had been happening with the transmission and had originally asked for the fluid to be changed. He strongly advised me against this temporarily as he wanted to give it a full investigation. This was offered free of charge and took just a couple of hours (fine with me as the garage is only a mile away from me). Diagnosis was prompt and as promised he then contacted me with the results, which was as expected and included telling me when and what happened with our car (very impressed)! We discussed a plan of action/options for repair as this was under warranty and upon our agreement, Rudy got in contact with our warranty company to start a new claim for repair. We were offered a couple of options with our repair, "new" second hand refurbished transmission or fix the module which had malfunctioned. We chose to fix the broken module which offered us a higher warranty of work than what was offered through our warranty company for a second hand transmission. This did come at a little extra cost as the warranty company would only cover so much of the cost. Work was completed in total with inspections etc (1 week) and only one day longer than Rudy predicted as he wanted to make sure the car was running great. I did notice during the time the car was in the garage with Rudy and team, that there were a lot of wildly mixed reviews on Google (good and bad), which did give me SOME concern; however, although I can only speak from my own personal experience, I do recommend Rudy for his ability to locate & tackle the problem with our car, prompt and regular contact and ability to work within the given time frame. I feel like my husband and I were treated with absolute respect, and the weekend following I revisited Rudy as requested just to make sure everything was okay and nothing else flagged up. Just save up and go to a reputable place with professionals. After a misdiagnosis, I had to come back and something was wrong with the transmission. They had to break it down to diagnosis it. I signed a paper that was explained to me to be just the cost of the breakdown and diagnosis, around $700-$800. When I returned, it would be $2,700 with cash ( no loan) out the door. I explained I needed to see if I could even pay that. When I returned the work was completed and they had the bill. I was so upset but we agreed on $500 a month. The first month fine, second month I was 10 days late (literally christmas time). The owner asked me to come in and he was horrible..rude, obnoxious, loud. He started off without an introduction just (This car is mind) and threw the mechanics lien at me. Said I want the balance by Friday or I'm selling it. That was all he had to say. I did nothing to try and deceive this clown, and was trying my BEST to keep my only car. I walked out of there and I couldn't make the payment. When I returned that weekend, they had everything in my car in black garbage bags and that was that. I didn't have money for a lawyer at the time either. So I gave them all in all $1,250 ($250 reprogramming price and (2) $500 payments) AND my 2010 ford fusion. Which was worth at the very least $4,000 easy. I never felt so used and stolen from in my life, and to add salt to the wound, I was never treated more poorly by any business, and I do not recommend this place. read more

After paying $500+ for a transmission diagnostic they suggested $2700 worth of upgrades to my transmission on a Mazda Tribute, after I declined the service and requested them to reassemble my transmission they stated they couldn't do so without full payment 1st before the job was finished and it would be ready the next day. It took them TWO WHOLE WEEKS reassemble my transmission and whenever I would call for an update they would simply say "We'll call you when its ready" or they would say "We'll call back" and never would. read more

I am beyond pissed not only is this dude holding my shit he is holding my car! Like really! You have 20 other cars your making major money on and your hassling me about fucking 75! I bought a 2004 Subaru Forester from a local dealer and, luckily, had them include an extended warranty with the sell of the car. Turns out that less than 3 months after buying it that my transmission was going bad and required substantial work. Needless to say I wasn't interested in paying $2600 out of pocket but Rudy was great at working with the extended warranty company and gave me a fair deal! While I won't recommend that you do business with that used car dealer or the extended warranty company, I will, without hesitation, recommend Rudy, this shop, and the work that they do! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO AARCO Transmission. THEY ARE RIP OFFS. I took my son's 2003 Mazda 6 there for oil smoke problems and they charged my son $2800 and it's still smoking. They did all kinds of things to the car "so they say they did" and did nothing but debit the money. My son bought the car in February 2013 and only drove the car a total of 1 month because it was mainly at their shop. I would call to find out the status of the car and they would always tell me "I will call you back" and they never did. I had to always go personally to get answers.
