We left a message and somehow we got to a doctors Allen's office in Tampa. When we arrived late they wouldn't even let us fill out the paperwork they said Dr. Alan was refusing to see us. I asked if we could just sit down and fill out the paperwork and have them review the paperwork and then make a decision about whether you want to reschedule the appointment but the lady behind the desk said no she kept rolling her pen between her fingers. My friend was with me she's the worst navigator in the world and I am upset with everything right now I'm at set with the doctors office I'm upset with my significant other I'm upset with the woman twirling the pen behind the bench and I would highly recommend that no one ever go to this fucking doctor ever again. The office is very clean and the wait time from arrival to be seen has been minimal on all of our visits. I have consistently found the front office staff to be friendly and courteous. I am very happy to have found this office, as I want the best care for my mom. Just to note... At the current time, they are practicing social distancing at this location and require masks on all persons entering the office. They also have hand sanitizer available. The waiting area is large enough to accommodate 4 or 5 people to maintain social distancing.

After watching my friend struggle for almost 2 years she was finally ready to follow through on…read moreseeking help. She needed an affordable halfway that would let her go to the IOP her choice. I called the owner of Nextep and he answered the phone! He stated he was Farr accredited, sounded good but everyone claims that so I checked http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/programs/samh/docs/FARR%20Certified%20Recovery%20Residences.pdf and it was true! Even more unbelievable he wasn't pushy! He was caring but my friend and I were the ones discussing scarcity. Nextep was accommodating to the medical instructions my friend was given by her treatment center and that mattered to me because they stated that her recommended prescriptions were essential to her recovery. I checked other halfways and they would not take her because the medications she was on require expensive testing. Instead of gouging her for those tests, Nextep is competitively priced, her rate included so many things that halfway houses usually charge extra for (food, testing). I have visited the location she was at and it was clean, rules were posted and she has to follow the rules in order to stay. So many halfway houses are co-ed in bad neighborhoods where drugs are conveniently available and unplanned pregnancies are common. However the location I visited was women only, in a quite, beautiful residential neighborhood as far away from temptation as possible. I say possible because temptation is everywhere and what is more important is that she has established a support group; her treatment center and her 12 step meetings are within walking distance. Challenges come, the staff have helped me resolve issues despite being +100 miles away. My friend has +65 days sober and she is chasing her recovery and Nextep has provided the environment she needed. This is a remarkable turnaround considering that I've seen her struggle and fail to get even a few days sober. I think that part of the success was that my friend finally got out of the geographical area that she was in and Nextep has multiple locations so we were able to find a location that would work for her. Shopping centers offering entry level positions are close by, so are medical facilities, and many other forms of commerce where she can seek employment and get medical care. She needed help, she could not pull herself up by her boot strings, her needs were beyond my experience and resources (and I have 13 years in the field), she needed all the help she could get and Nextep was there.

The Nextep program is very informative and helpful to my recovery, IOP is a very good coping…read moremechanism. The sober living house is very clean, nice, and the people within the house are very supportive in my recovery. The one on one counseling sessions are a great way to get to know yourself and underlying issues. Overall this program is great for my recovery and sobriety.

After 16 years of marriage- Covid quarantine threw us over the edge. We knew we had been arguing a great deal, but found it to be our "norm". We had lost touch with ourselves & one another, and were just living day by day in a frigid environment of harsh communication, frustration, silent treatments, & very little intimacy. We were heading down a road towards divorce. But- our 23 years together had us both feeling that we needed to fight for our marriage & each other. We got into this together, and we'd get out together. That's when we met Ana & our lives changed in a way that we could have only dreamed of. We know that marriage is continuous work & are eternally grateful for the knowledge, skills, & tools that we've been taught.
