We cannot say enough wonderful things about John and Becky with Smitty's Pump Services in…read moreMiddleburg, Florida. From the very first time we reached out, they have gone above and beyond for our family. We recently moved to a large property and had never used well water or operated a well or septic system before. To say we were overwhelmed would be an understatement. John and Becky didn't just fix issues when they came up -- they truly educated us. They took the time to walk us through how to properly live on well and septic, explained everything in terms we could understand, and made sure we felt confident managing our system. That kind of care is rare. No matter the time -- day, night, weekends, or even holidays -- they have always made themselves available to help us. Knowing we can text them 24/7 and get a response gives us such peace of mind. They have saved us more than once and have never let us down. Not only is their service dependable, but our water is honestly the best we've ever had. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do and about the families they serve. They are kind, patient, and always make time for us. We truly feel like they are part of our family. We were so impressed that we signed up for their annual maintenance plan, and it has been one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. And the prices are just perfect ! Without a doubt, we would recommend John and Becky with Smitty's Pump Services to any and everyone. They are simply the best.

Called Smitty's and John arrived early and quickly diagnosed the problem. They had it working pretty quick and fixed several other issues as well as adjusting our pump settings. The price was not overcharged as other companies might do. Very knowledgeable and highly reputable company.

Called back at 8:00 am the next morning and spoke to a nice lady that said she would have someone contact me from the field crews asap. In less than 45 minutes got a call and I explained my problem. Deep well pump failure. Needed new deep well submersible pump installed. Layman employee said they could not get to me until, after lunch (NO PROBLEM). Received call from Laymans about 12:45 said they were on the way, about 5 minutes out. The first truck arrived and got busy on removing the old pump and drop pipe. The second truck arrived with new pressure tank, drop pipe and two more men. Out with the old, in with the new. everything was hooked up tested. They made sure the yard was clean before they left. All the personnel were professional, courteous and worked together to resolve my problem as quickly as possible. About 1 hour and 40 minutes from their arrival, they were finished and leaving. I highly recommend this company!!! If I have water problems in the future, they will be the company I call to fix it!!!

For almost 2 months there has been a pipe with the cat in the ground at my property. No pump has been added to the pipe. So the man said that he will be out the following week to see what's going on with it. To follow in a way cascade and I had to call them up Tuesday to see what's going on when they were gonna come out. The man said Wednesday he will be out annoyingly. Hopefully we can have a pump put in Wednesday and we will be able to move in Maybe at the end of this month. We've been waiting since the end of last month or the beginning of this month which is what we were told when we will be moving in but we aren't in yet. Frustrated and annoyed.

He took time to explain what was broken and what to expect from the age of our system. There was no uncomfortable Up-sell or pressure. I will definitely call Florida Pump Service again when I have a need!

On 03/01/2024 I was walking with my dog when I hear my well pump running when it shouldn't have…read morebeen. I opened the pump house to see water spraying out of the piping. I shut off the pump and called Florida Pump Service. As it was late on a Friday afternoon, I was told I would have to pay the overtime rate for a service call. Understood, I need water. So be it. The technician, Brian, arrives, tells me that the pump has overheated, causing the PVC pipe to melt. He re-pipes the damaged plumbing, starts the pump, and tells me everything is working correctly. He suspected the overheating was caused by the pressure being set too high, which seemed implausible to me, but....I had water, so, OK. Cost: $344.00. Less than three weeks later, I was going to take a shower, when I found that I had no water at all. I went out to the pump house and found the pump running, but no water pressure. As it was after hours, I waited until the following morning (03/21/2024) to call Florida Pump Service. Brian again arrived and stated that the check valve, which he had installed on his previous visit, had failed, causing my loss of water. He also replaced the pressure switch on the pump. Cost: $319.28. I'm less happy now, but I have water. The next day, 03/22/2024, the pump caused the breaker to trip. I re-set the breaker, and it promptly tripped again. 3rd call to Florida Pump Service. BRIAN SHOWED UP AGAIN. He spent an hour trying to figure out why the pump was causing the breaker to trip. He eventually concluded that it had to be an electrical issue and suggested I call an electrician. By now, it's late Friday and I can't get an electrician out until Saturday. Brian did have the grace not to charge me for this visit. On Saturday, the electrician arrives, tests the system, and the breaker and supply wiring are all fine. Since he's on weekend OT, the cost for his visit is $269.00. I call Florida Pump Service again and ask for ANYONE BUT BRIAN to come out and address the pump again. Tonya, the dispatcher, told me that Brian was the only technician available for the weekend. So.....I called another pump service. The new company couldn't see me until Monday, so I spent the weekend flushing my toilets with bottled water and bathing in the sink. On Monday, 03/25/2024, the new service replaced the pump, pressure tank, and foot valve and my issue is now resolved. That cost almost $2k, but was understandable given the age of the pump. I am convinced that the signs that the pump was failing were present when Brian made his first visit (remember the melted PVC?), but he either did not recognize, or chose to ignore them. It was late afternoon on a Friday after all. Instead of replacing my pump then and there, Brian caused me an unnecessary second service call and a visit from an electrician. I blame Florida Pump Service for causing me at least $600.00 in unnecessary expense. Would not recommend.
