We called our local Lap of Love and Dr Dawn came the same day to gently and humanely euthanize Pudie Cat. It was expensive but they are reliable and they wanted to help. Lap of Love is a good service but any services outside of euthanasia are exorbitant and gouging. However we were happy with their kind service and will use them for our last beloved cat. Don't call on Dr Brannen to euthanize your animals. You can't count on his service.

With a fragile senior dog who cannot safely undergo surgery, this felt overwhelming. I left with antibiotics and immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Campos. The next day, I drove three hours to see Dr Campos. He examined P. thoroughly, considered her full medical history, and handled the issue right there in the office -- no pressure, no unnecessary add-ons. That is the difference. Now that VCA owns it, San Francis is just a corporate investment. Each visit we are bombarded by recommendations for unnecessary procedures and pleas to join their subscription-based care program. I found a new vet in the area that takes their time with our dogs. They have not been recommending any unnecessary procedures or trying to pressure us into subscriptions. They are privately-owned and managed. My recommendation to you would be to call any vet clinic ahead of time. If they are corporate-owned that is a red flag that you may be getting the same experience we had once VCA took over San Francis. The worst part of our experience with two different corporate owned clinics? The despicable practice of holding our dog's prescription medication hostage unless we have several hundred dollars worth of tests run. Never have I run into that issue with a non-corporate vet.
