This is a tough review to give. We've been going to this clinic for over SIX YEARS. Really like Dr…read more Stoker and all of the vets he has brought in to assist at the clinic --- until now. I always loved how down to earth the team was, very practical with what was necessary and what was unnecessary. The front desk staff is super easy to work with for appointments and are very professional and efficient. The technician staff is courteous and top-notch professional as well. A couple weeks ago I brought my 11-year-old boxer in for his annual exam and vaccines and as of last week -- left feeling extremely disappointed and concerned about the clinic's diagnostic and billing practices. I am writing this review to help other pet owners make informed decisions. My dog had a mild swelling near his backside. He was eating, drinking, peeing, and pooping normally with no signs of distress. I simply wanted to know whether the swelling was related to his anal glands, prostate, or possibly a cancerous mass. His labs were normal, so the next reasonable step was a physical and rectal exam. Because he is a nervous dog, he did not tolerate the rectal exam, and the veterinarian recommended oral sedatives (they didn't help enough so he needed IV sedation so they could examine him thoroughly) and also perform a nail trim and dental care while he was under. I agreed to this and expected the cost to reflect what was discussed. Cost: $353 annual +vaccines+ labs +license+oral sedatives Estimate for exam+dental care +nails was $215 Needed to add IV sedation - called to notify cost would be increased to $400 to include everything (yikes! But I get it, he needed to be out- reconfirmed dental care and nails) What happened next was disappointing and, in my opinion, inappropriate. Despite sedation and an ultrasound that showed only an enlarged prostate (which is completely normal for an intact senior boxer), I was called at the end of the visit to be told that multiple X-rays (FIVE!!) had also been taken--five different views covering his hips, spine, abdomen, and chest. These were never discussed with me, never authorized, and were not medically indicated based on the single issue I brought him in for. I had made it clear repeatedly that I was not looking for a broad survey of unrelated "incidental findings," only clarification of the specific swelling. my dog was not walking around in pain or showing signs of distress. The only reason I noticed was because he was puffy on his backside. The X-rays revealed nothing unexpected: mild hip arthritis, age-related spinal changes, and a heart size that is normal for the boxer breed (despite initially being told it looked enlarged- I was the one who pointed out there was a scale next to the image showing he was well within normal for his boxer specific breed). None of these findings contributed anything to the reason for the visit and none changed his treatment plan. They simply added hundreds of dollars in charges. The cost of the visit climbed unexpectedly from the anticipated ~$200, to ~$400, and ultimately to $575--with no communication during the process that additional diagnostics were being performed or billed. At no point was I asked for consent to proceed with X-rays, nor given an estimate for these extra tests. In both human and veterinary medicine, informed consent is a basic standard, and that standard was not met here. I want to be clear: I respect the veterinary profession tremendously, and I understand that diagnostics can be valuable when they are appropriate and discussed beforehand. But performing multiple imaging studies without owner consent, especially when their clinical relevance is questionable, is not acceptable. Pet owners deserve transparency, communication, and respect for their wishes and financial boundaries. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and reassesses how they communicate diagnostic plans and obtain consent. My intention in sharing this is to help other owners be aware and advocate for clearer communication when seeking care for their pets. this ended up being an exorbitantly expensive visit only to stress out my dog and not offer any benefit. $352 followed by $575 oh, and by "Dental Care" it just meant they were looking at his mouth, they did not actually do any dental cleaning and they won't be able to do any dental cleaning because during his time with IV sedation, he threw a cardiac Arythma so I would never trust them to put him through that again. This is a lengthy review, but I wanted people to know the specifics of the event and give as much detail as possible so the clinic can learn from it, and people can be aware

I thought this man was a wonderful veterinarian after bringing my dog in for a torn CCL. She was…read morenon weight bearing on her back left leg and in a lot of pain. I've never had a vet listen to my concerns for my dog the way he did. He also went out of his way to explain things to me, making sure I understood everything. We decided on surgery and went ahead and set the date for it. Unfortunately they cancelled on us, shortly after confirming the surgery appointment, a few days before it was to happen. I feel they prefer their clients to be of a certain social class that I am not a part of. So if you are lucky enough to fit their ideal picture of who they want for a client, lucky you. If you do not, expect a last minute cancellation. Also my experience was the staff does not communicate with eachother. If you are told anything by a receptionist, make sure you ask to speak with the doctor or a technician to ensure that the receptionist has the right to speak on behalf of the doctor. They needed a full bloodwork for my dog before surgery. The surgery is a lot for my income, so being my dog just had the bloodwork done a month prior I asked if they could use those test results in order to save to have more money to put towards the surgery. I sent test results from another clinic in via email, and the response I got from the clinic was that they got them and if there doctor had any problems with it they would be in contact as soon as possible. Only to find out later when they we're canceling my dogs surgery that the staff member was not in a position to speak on behalf of the doctor and he did not appreciate me not bringing her in to get the bloodwork done their. Had I known that, we most definitely would have had the bloodwork done again. I thought I wanted this doctor to help my dog so bad, but they turned their back on her, canceling right before the surgery that would let my dog walk again. I was told "I'm uncommitted to my dog". Which was so wrong to say, if they only knew the love I have for her. Luckily we found a non-judgmental surgeon who really cares for the dogs wellbeing and not just for his practices appearance. My dog got TPLO surgery 9 days ago and is already walking on four legs again!

I'd attach a photo but my experience with Pendragon Acres has left me with nothing to show for it…read more We were told there was a money back guarantee. Only to be rescheduled 3 times, on the 3rd time we arrived to the facility and waited for 30 minutes until calling in which resulted in the proprietor bursting from his hot tub and running inside his trailer. We immediately requested our money back through his office manager(s). Each time we were given an excuse or told to come back to the facility. After reading other reviews talking about him pulling a gun, we figured we'd skip that experience and asked (extremely nicely) to have our money mailed back to us via check. We were told multiple times the check was coming or had been sent. It never arrived. The money we gave this man in good faith was no small fee. We were told his services were the best. That he had an incredible pedigree of dogs and a large list of celebrity and government clients. We then turned to the BBB whom he stopped communicating with entirely. We were told that we needed to be consistent, we would have been, at least we were consistent in trying to show up for scheduled appointments. Even his office staff weren't helpful in getting a refund. I'm left to believe this entire organization is a front and a scam designed to take hard earned money from people. If you're reading this, you're doing your research. Listen to my warning and stay away from this business!

It is with great regret that I have to write this review, However, This Company deserves -5 stars…read more Not only do they not return phone calls when they know that they are in the wrong. But sold me a overly priced rescue dog which was from THEIR vets mouth. They should had never sold the puppies that were during the blueberry season since they live next to a blueberrry farm and that farm uses air cannons which has caused our new dog to have PTSD also has Hygroma from laying on concrete at the kennel they run. I do NOT care who they sold their dogs to all I wanted was a healthy puppy, What we got is a nightmare. Since I have alot of medical problems it has been very difficult controlling 10 month old puppy ( that we have had for 3 weeks ) to do anything when out for walks or to sometimes even to go outside if a someone is even talking that she doesn't recognize. We have only talked to owners twice after taking our puppy home, once to take her to the vet that they provide, and to make a time to come there and talk about taking her back. They say no refunds but they sold a puppy or should I say a lemon to us. Which by law constitutes for a refund and to take the merchandise back. While they have not returned our calls to discuss further since they had said to give it a few weeks and call back now refuse to answer or return calls. So not only are they liars they are very shady and should not be trusted. I hope this gets to anyone that wants to purchase a Shepherd, I would beg anyone to go some place else, do not go through what we have been through. I also will make sure that this business that has been going since "1920's" so I am told will be shut down if its the last thing I do on this earth. Very shameful that these beautiful animals are put in the positions that make them miserable. I only hope that this review gets to the AKC and the Human society.
