I am completely disgusted. I am 2 months in with a broken wrist. And Dr. Kincaid the Ortho Surgeon DOES NOT TREAT YOU POST OP. So he makes you go see Pain Managenent Drs to see if they will treat you post op. And every dr said NO. Obviously... they all said "The Surgeon is supposed to treat you after Surgery" the Surgeon nurse, Martha is completely Rude as well. I dont need to be traveling with a broken wrist to all these drs to asl them if they will treat me post op. NEVER IN MY LIFE. So i am seeing a new surgeon & believe you me.... since i had to wait THIS LONG somebody will pay for this. Bad- Avoid! I've had two bad experiences here: Dr Lanzone who was nice enough but who misdiagnosed a C4 compression fracture as a simple outer vertebral fracture until the MRI I demanded showed otherwise, & now Dr. Keane who was nasty & argumentative due I think to the fact that he was angry I was late & because I dared to question him & interrupt his condescending lecture about what is causing my back pain. HE NEVER MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO EXAMINE ME. I've had several weeks of terrible pain although x-rays were normal. I need some pt & an mri to see what is going on here and make sure there were really no fractures etc. I have spent the last several weeks with 24 /7 lidocaine patches mostly sitting on heating pads, on pk etc. and not being able to do much. It got better for 3-4 days but then I clipped my toe nails, and it's worse again. I've already had a C4 compression fracture which makes you vulnerable to more. Why he chose to argue with me instead of doing his job & when he asked what I wanted he didn't do it I don't know- I said I want pt & an mri- pretty simple. In addition, he didn't seem to be aware of my full history so maybe they lost it or he didn't look at it. I have had 3 injuries to my spine & other areas in car accidents & I've had chronic back/neck pain from it since my early 30's. I have multiple serious health conditions including severe osteoporosis/ previous compression fracture yet this doctor didn't factor that in. At some point Dr. Lanzone said the compression fracture is healed, but actually it wasn't- it takes a year to fully heal & it was months before I felt better. I tried pt but that made me worse- at some point I went to an interventional radiologist & a spine surgeon who recommended kyphoplasty due to the level of pain & disability I had but I slowly got better & didn't do it since there are also risks to that surgery. Dr. L never showed any concern really for the amount of pain & disability I had then, thankfully my gp did & rx pain killers which are NEEDED for vertebral fractures. The surgeon was the only one who showed concern & recognized I could barely move around then. My back improved over time however your spine is NEVER the same after a compression fracture especially when you have O. I can't move the same way, my whole spine was affected by it. Both the surgeon & IR said it was ito 40% compression not 15%. IR showed me how to read the mri as well! AO don't seem to have records of my medication- the nurse going over forgot warfarin & due to not feeling well I forgot to mention that- I'm on it for previous dvt to prevent that as I've had several. Eventually Dr. K left the room after asking if I wanted to see someone else & after directly confronting me that I was late & now not listening to his long lecture. That time could have been used to examine me! I had already apologized for being late & asked are you going to accept that- NO REPLY. The office manager came in & was nice however she suggested I see a pain specialist instead who can't rx mri she said & maybe not pt either, which is a waste of my time at this point & which isn't proper treatment. Then she suggested my gp can rx those. I have called them & I hope they will otherwise I have to find a new competent ortho doc who is not so far away. I was also abused & put in danger by an mri tech here when I had the compression fracture- before it became NYU. She was furious that I was 10m late (called my cell to argue as I arrived!). After the mri I told her I was dizzy- she said it's just from getting up. She made me go to the outer bathroom to put on my new pump inset & dexcom sensor. I have type 1D. I tested my bg which was 34 which is very low. I could have fallen & injured myself again or passed out. I went to the front desk- they said they have no juice or food, showed no concern, & did nothing to help me. I didn't have enough glucose with me to feel safe. This woman/mri tech was extremely nasty & made the whole mri awful. It was obvious she cared nothing about me etc. She also REFUSED to mask because she said she had sinus surgery. I asked to make a formal complaint finally to this office manager but she said the staff has changed now. If you want to actually get proper medical care & be treated with even a modicum of respect don't come here. The OM said she will try to make sure I'm not charged a copay. I hope so because otherwise I will be reporting this to my ins. A word of advice to the doctor 1- If someone is late & you don't want to see them don't- I would have been quite happy to just have gone home to be honest rather than be maltreated. I wish I had cancelled. I tried to call on the way there to see if I should still come but no one answered the phone. I was delayed by bad traffic. 2- Try listening to your patient who actually has a lot of knowledge about their condition instead of lecturing them. 3- Always examine the patient 4- Don't shake your patient's hands = germs! read more

"A"dvanced Orthopedics is an "A" in every way I have been treated at Advanced Orthopedics for serious conditions, and found the treatment of their patients to be Superior at every level. All their staff act as a unified group to care for you with personal concern. Scheduling, or questions in any area, are never a problem. With Dr.Kincaid as my physician I was treated at the highest level of medical excellence. Every procedure was carefully explained and executed by him with successful completion. I was reassured by him at all times which lessened any anxiety I might have had about recovery. And a complete recovery was never a question - which was the case. After surgery physical rehab was necessary to complete my recovery. I chose to rehab with the Advanced Orthopedics department because of the faith I had in their care. I chose to drive a half hour to receive the best care possible. Again my faith was not misplaced. My physical therapist, Nicole, immediately inspired me to keep up with all the exercises. She is knowledgeable, considerate, and treats the whole person not only their injury. The extra care she gives is the difference in getting better. I even looked forward to my appointments for to be treated and see the people in the department. Any accident or condition which require orthopedic attention is necessarily stressful. Stay away. Twisted my right hip 2/2015. I was in agony for months trying to let it heal. 4 months later still in agony I started seeing Dr. Finger. Says I just have hip strain. Months go by no improvement. Finally he orders and MRI in November.... Got a hold of report before follow up visit. showed I had a Labrum tear. He comes into office and says "Just like I said, you just have hip strain. I called him a liar and told him Ive seen the report and never went back. Now just 3 years later I need a total hip replacement. read more

The office manager is condescending and unprofessional and the billing manager is just absolutely nasty. Its sad that such good doctors have staff with mediocre customer service skills. I insisted he orders a MRI of my foot and ankle. Results came back broken ankle with torn ligaments. I do not recommend them as this is the second time they diagnosed me incorrectly. I am a new patient of this doctors office, recently having damaged my knee in a fall. They were recommended to me by Sayville STAT Health and and I very happy that they did. I cannot say enough great things about the level of service that I received from the entire staff, including Corie Credidio, Office Manager, Jackie in billing, Martha, Lisa Marie, Dr's Finger and Sahi, Pierre Liana, and Jacqui Morgan. I was treated with the highest level of respect, even though at first there was an issue with my insurance coverage, and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my scheduled appointment. The staff was kind, courteous and compassionate and I was permitted to ask whatever and however many questions I had concerning the diagnosis and available recovery options. Many times we post only the negative, but in this case, there weren't any so I am very happy to tell everyone in the Patchogue/Central Suffolk County, LI area about this remarkable place. First off, shame one me for making an appointment here and not reading Yelp or Google reviews before hand. About a year ago my husband was seen here and had a good experience so I figured it was safe to make an appointment here. Boy was I wrong. I have a habit of scheduling appointments at doctors offices close to home or work out of convenience. A lot of medical offices that are close to proximity to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital(or whatever they want to call themselves now) are affiliated with the hospital aka they are all in cahoots with one another and that is NOT a good thing for the patients wallet whether you have good insurance (which I thankfully do) or not. Okay, so moving on to my recent appointment here. I arrive a half hour early as requested. Upon entering the front desk staff behind the glass look miserable, oh goodie. I sign in and then wait for the girl to acknowledge me because I already have my paperwork filled out & want to hand it to her. She opens the glass and doesn't say a word and just looks at me like what. Ugh giiiiirrrrl please don't, it's too early in the morning for this kind of attitude. It was all downhill from there. I was there for 2 and a half hours and the only kind person I came across was the xray technician who had a great personality and was very cheerful. The waiting room was packed and even after I was leaving I saw some of the same people that were there when I was waiting. The doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me and had the personality of a rock. He wasn't even helpful in my opinion. Just wanted to push unnecessary meds on me and follow up with me in a few weeks. My advice, go elsewhere. This place has too many providers for the size of the office and it's a damn circus from the time you walk in til the time you leave. read more

Where to begin? They set my broken hand incorrectly. Upon taking the cast off, the tech told me it wouldn't hurt and wouldn't cut me. Wrong. It did hurt and she cut me on two fingers. The doctor was not very interested in my symptoms and didn't address my concerns. RUDE staff. Doctor noted that I walk with a cane in my medical reports but after he signed a temp handicap authorization, the staff insisted I didn't use a cane and put that on the form. Because of that I was denied the permit. Doctor refused to address issue with me and staff said their decision was final and wouldn't change it. I switched to Stony Brook Ortho and LOVE the practice. Even though I now drive 40 minutes to the doctor, it's well worth it knowing I have a great doctor who knows what he's doing! read more

I have never had a bad experience at this office (Patchogue). I had a total hip replacement with Dr. Kleeman this past January and am going for the other hip next week. Except for my initial visit, and one follow up, I was usually seen promptly. Office staff were very professional and seemed to be on top of things. My surgery experience was EXCELLENT. If I had one complaint, it's that the office charges $15 to fill out paperwork for my job, which I had to do twice. But that's the cost of doing business, I guess. The X-Ray techs also did a fast and efficient job. There was a bit of a lag scheduling my first surgery, but everything got done in time, and scheduling for the upcoming one went faster. I don't anticipate any problems. read more

Went to see Dr. Keane for leg and knee pain. Was his patient for over 2 years with nothing but temporary relief. Finally he says I should get an MRI. Fine, I am lucky enough to have insurance that does not need prior approval. NO ONE in the office would believe me or call my insurance company, I had to wait weeks for what could have been done that very day. All the messages I left went unanswered by staff. Finally I begged my insurance company for help and they called on my behalf. Went in the next day. A few days later Dr. Keane had me come in for results during a snow storm ( I can hardly walk) to let me know that I have spinal stenosis and directed me elsewhere. Fast forward 7 months later I have just had knee replacement surgery and am feeling great. I truly resent the delay in my getting proper care. Go elsewhere for your pain. I recommend Dr. John Brennan who diagnosed and treated me quickly and with kindness. And, his staff always returns my calls! read more

Horrible horrible practice! My sister in law got injured at work a little more than a month ago- hurt her foot. She went to this practice in hopes of getting an MRI and be seen by a doctor, this practice has made her wait a MONTH to be even be seen! Giving her the runaround about her workman's comp and insurance. The front desk has done nothing to help her. They finally did the MRI, however, because of their unwillingness to expedite this situation so my sIster in law can get answers she decided to go to another practice. Unfortunately the MRI that this negligent practice did was unreadable to this new practice, and so, the new doctor who examined her told her because of the length of time of not being seen there is a 90% chance that she'll need surgery. She's been told now she can't put any kind of weight on this foot. It's absolutely disgusting how this practice has treated her, they need to be investigated. Warning to all those, don't step in their office unless you want to wait months before getting any help. read more

Someone asked how they take money from my paycheck and without giving them my credit/debit info its impossible. It's not. They took me to court and because I was a moron and took them at their word that they would accept my insurance checks and only charge what was paid and nothing more I lost. They have a judgement. I took my son to the new Stony Brook office. The staff was just ok, not friendly or personable just ok. The PA and Dr. We're nice but conflicted in their treatment plan. They decided he needed a brace, however, insurance needs to provide a pre auth. So I called the insurance company to expedite because my son is in pain. Insurance called and spoke directly to the girl who takes care of the pre auths and requested the information be sent so they can approve and my son can get the brace. She refused to do anything more and stated that I needed to wait. Insurance told me that if they had given me a script, I could have gone to a supply store and had the request done immediately. So why didn't they give me a script? Because they have the braces there and make money so I am at the mercy of an office worker with an over inflated sense of self importance. I would never recommend this place to anyone for any reason. I called and requested a copy of my x-rays and was told that I had to come in and fill out a form and they would be ready for me. Come in anytime. Then I called back the following week to find out what time they were opened and they say that the x-rays are not ready for me that I have to come in and fill out a form and they would order them for me and they have no idea when they would be ready and they would not accommodate for me my doctors appointment. The second I walked into the office, the front desk staff was rude and didn't acknowledge me. Front desk staff did not even look up. Staff looks so miserable, negative vibe. That should've been a huge indication to leave. Then, I saw Dr. Keane who was extremely vague with explanation of my knee pain. He fitted me for a brace after x-ray (showed no fracture) that made my knee worse off and delayed my recovery all together. I did not need to be in a brace and it aggravated my injury to the point that I was unable to walk after Dr. Keane's dangerous treatment. One visit I was told that I had a slight fracture and then a week later, I was told that it's not a fracture. Contradicting information! The young girl who was supposed to fit me for brace, gave it to me and said she can't pull the straps because her hands can't pull. So, I was given a brace to figure out on my own, no instructions whatsoever. I went elsewhere and have an educated, better plan for knee injury. I was told to get rid of the brace immediately from my new orthopedic. I'm glad Dr. Keane will get money for an unnecessary brace he distributed that looked scratched up and used. I strongly suggest not going to this practice!!!! Very disappointing and dangerous business!! Should not be in business!! Stay clear of this practice for your medical well-being. read more

I have a $40 copay for a specialist. I go to pay the copay upon arrival and I'm told I need an xray and it will cost me $40 out of pocket because my insurance wont cover it all. Okay, that weird that it's a nice round number I think to myself. So, I have my appointment with Dr Keane ( in which he was great and I'm please with my my care) When I go to check put at the counter where I'm told, that I owe $132. Dollars for my cortisone shot. That amount, according to the billing manager is what the insurance company wont pay. Mind you I had the same injection 3 months ago at anoth dr.'s where it cost half that price after insurance paid. I felt bullied and pressured to pay right then and there! Made me feel very uncomfortable! Whatever happened to waiting for the EOB from my insurance company and then paying what us actually owed and not just a guess! I will not be returning to this office which is a shame since I liked the dr. who preformed my care. What a nightmare up front! read more

Went in on crutches employees watched as I struggled with opening and closing the doors, was made feel like it was a hassle to get a doctors note, was seen by the doctor for less than a minute, and was not able to ask any questions. Outstanding! In March I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room after dislocating my ankle and breaking my fibula. I soon found out it would require emergency surgery the next day. Of course I had absolutely no say in which surgeon the hospital would assign to me and I was very nervous. My fears were quickly calmed as soon as I met John Dalton (a PA from Advanced Orthopedics) in the hospital. He answered all of my (many!) questions in a very reassuring and compassionate way. Putting my mind at ease that I was going to be in good hands with Dr Schwartzbard. Of course I couldn't help myself and had to google Dr Schwartzbard on the Vitals.com website after he left. 5 out of 5 stars?! Yes please! He lived up to that rating because he did a great job. My surgery was explained to me before and after in a way that was easy to understand. No medical language mumbo jumbo. The recovery is going very well. I just had a temporary screw removed and will start PT in a few days. Every visit to Advanced Orthopedics is a pleasant experience. From the helpful and friendly receptionists to all of the outstanding PAs to the highly qualified surgeons. The waiting room is always packed but I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes. That's remarkable in itself! I would highly recommend this office to anyone in need of quality orthopedic care. read more

I was barely examined, the plan of care was not well orchestrated. The clinician lacked empathy. Not only does it take forever to get someone on the phone to ask a question or make an appointment but you wait well over your scheduled appointment time to see a doctor. They send you for test that aren't needed probably to get more from your insurance. This places gets me so frustrated. read more

Dr. Ritter, John Dalton PA and their entire team are wonderful and I would not trust anyone else with my orthopedic needs! Yes it is true you will probably wait an extended period of time in their waiting room but that is because they are busy giving every patient quality care and emergencies do happen especially when it comes to this type of care! If your child had a fall at school and was rushed to the ER with a fractured arm or leg wouldn't you want them to be fit in with an orthopedic surgeon right away? Having to wait when your given the best care and have every question you may have appropriately answered without feeling rushed out the door is way more important than having a little extra time taken away from your day! I have been to this office about 4 times over the past three years from assorted sports injuries. ACL tear is the most recent. Also I've had a separated shoulder and a nasty wrist bruise. One time I had to wait about 40 mins to be seen by Dr Ritter. Once he came in, he spent about 10 minutes discussing my knee. A follow up appointment with him lasted about 20 mins in the exam room. All my other visits ranged from a ten min up to 30 min wait. I was very pleased with the office staff and the surgery scheduler Martha. Everyone was very patient with my many questions. I have only good things to say about Advanced Ortho. read more

The doctors and physical assistants in the east patchogue office are competent, friendly and knowledgeable but the same cannot be said for the office manager. She is one of the rudest women I have ever spoken with. Reaching a human being on the phone took an incredibly long time and when I finally was able to speak with someone, she was disrespectful and incredibly unhelpful. I will probably change offices so that I can work with an office staff that understands that orthopedic patients are in pain and need someone who is kind and empathetic instead of rude and demeaning. I recently hurt my knee and needed an orthopedic doctor. I have been to this office before and had no issues. I guess they changed their payment policies because I receive a phone call acknowledging my account was current but I need to make a payment at my next appointment. I explained that wasn't possible and was told multiple times "we need to address this". I suggested we cancel my appointment, I'll pay the bill and we won't worry about my knee. I guess that's what she wanted because that's what's happening. Way to care for your patients! Don't go here, there are a lot of better doctors with more caring staff all over the area than this place. read more
