Ed was great! I brought my car to him after it would not pass small five times. The smog tech thought it was because I just had a new battery put in. I brought it to Red label and diesel, which is my go to mechanic that are great and it came up that my cat system was not working properly. I was referred to advanced muffler and told that it would take care of me. I took my car into him and he was honest and not pushing me to buy a new catalytic converter, but instead told me continue to drive my car more because it may indeed be the battery. He said he does not see any indication that I need a new catalytic converter at this time, but we would figure out what was wrong if it still was not resetting the cat system after the next few months. First and most important I highly recommend you coming here. Ed is super nice, helpful and honest. Some information on my experience: I'm a 16 year old kid and wanted to put an exhaust system on my truck so it wouldn't sound like an electric car anymore. (No hate towards electric vehicles) I told Ed what my wants were and he helped guide me to getting the right system for my truck. Since I wanted to install it myself with my dad, once it came he gave me a call that it was ready to be picked up. After getting it home taking the old system off and reading the instructions I had realized there were adapters and U clamps missing. (Not Ed/Advanced mufflers fault) I called Ed let him know what I was missing and he made me the parts I needed quickly free of charge. I had to get my exhaust manifold modified in order to fit larger front sway bars. He was able to modify my exhaust manifold, keep in mind it isn't a V8 or anything just a flat 4 boxer. I made an appointment, dropped it off when they opened and got it back the same day. Total cost was $250. He was a very nice and knowledgeable about exhaust systems. read more

I went to Ed based on the strength of his Yelp reviews, and wish, months after he did the work, that I had a "give the guy six stars" as an option. When I first approached Ed, I was interested in sourcing a Magnaflow CBE for my '15 GTI. I talked to him about the pros and cons of a custom cat-back system and a solution that he'd install for me. He advised me AGAINST the custom built option and walked me through how mandrel bends and the work required wasn't going to be cost effective. One star, five to go. Then he offered to get me the Magnaflow system I was eyeballing at a better-than-internet price. He also asked me to let him know what system I eventually decided on, telling me that if he could source it, he'd give me the best price he could. Two stars. Four more to go. I read a TON of reviews, decided against the Magnaflow, and bought an AWE tuning system that Ed couldn't source - but I asked and he did the legwork. Three stars. Three more. Got the system, called him, made an appointment, and dropped the car off with an additional ask that he install a Eurocode chassis brace. No problem, he says. Four stars. Two more. Went back to pick the car up, and he wasn't done - he was spending the time aligning the tips perfectly and making sure that the entire thing, including the chassis brace, was good to go. Let me come back later to pick up the stock exhaust he removed. Five stars. One more. Then, DAYS later, he called me again to let me know that the stock stamped steel chassis braces he'd pulled off the car were still floating around and would I like to pick them up? SIX stars. Dude's a rockstar. If you need exhaust work done go see this guy. He's honest, works his butt off to make you happy, and charged me a VERY reasonable price to install the exhaust AND the brace - all the while dealing with my retentiveness with the car and the exhaust. He's earned my business in a myriad of ways. He's a car guy and d*mn good at what he does. He'll get ALL the exhaust work I'll ever need for as long as I live within a 100 mile radius of Vacaville. read more
