Forsyth County needs to pull their operating license. This is a public health issue. When trash of all sorts is left at the curb and hasnt been picked up for days this is unhealthy. This is also theft of service/fraud. A scheduled pickup day is a scheduled pickup day. How about Forsyth County force Advanced aka Waste Mgt credit $5 to the consumer for every missed day of pickup of residential trash. read more

Not worthy of even 1 star. Have not picked up on the scheduled day even once and yet demanded 3 months advance payment and I can't get anyone on the phone. Horrible customer service. read more

I am very disappointed with Advanced Disposal. I have auto-pay set up and each billing cycle I get an email telling me of the date the funds will be deducted, however, it ALWAYS deducts the amount 2-3 weeks before the date in the email from Disposal. I have complained about this more than once and no one has corrected the problem. Also, lately, our recycling has not been picked up and I don't know why. I can't reach anyone on the phone. I am looking into another company that comes in our subdivision. This service is absolutely unacceptable! read more

I have been trying to get a copy of my service contact for over a month, left several messages with corporate as well as local offices who were going to "expedite " my request. Horribly managed company. Prior to this debacle, it too me three months to increase my service! Yes! I was trying to pay more and couldn't get it accomplished for 3 months. How are they even n business!? read more

2nd time for a missed pick up. No one ever came to pick up after I reported it. Customer service lies to you (if you can even get a response from anyone). I live in an HOA who will report and fine if you leave bins outside of scheduled pick up day. Since I rent my home, my landlord gets the violations. Their poor service is at risk of jeopardizing my tenancy. They are a horrible company and should be ashamed. If I could switch, I'd do it in a heartbeat. read more

I have to constantly call these people about either my trash or recycle bin not being emptied. This does not make sense. We are paying the company for a service and, oftentimes, it is not being rendered. Bibb County needs to hire another trash disposal service. read more

I lived with missing my trash can once every few weeks without calling to complain. Then they stopped picking up two cans without telling me. They would just empty one and leave the other. I would only use the second can when they missed the previous week. I mean what do I do with a weeks worth of trash you didn't pick up? Then I finally call... they tell me they will come out sometime in the next few days but not which day. I ask can you make a note to pick up both cans seeing as I have no more room ? They will make a note on the work order.... five days later they pick up THE ONE CAN AND LEAVE THE OTHER ONE FULL! I'm done with this company. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would rate them a 0 but it will not let me. They are always days late picking up my trash. The last time I called, it was due to inclimate weather. Guess it was to sunny and hot for them. I have called twice today, was on hold for 35 minutes and when they picked up, they hung up on me. Called back and was on hold for 50 minutes and again hung up on me. I will be cancelling my service if I can ever get them on the phone. I will haul trash to the dump before I pay someone to NOT pick up my trash. read more

We have had their garbage and recycle pick ups since 6/27/2019. They have been great about picking up my garbage put not my recycles. In little over a month they may have picked it up when they are suppose to maybe once. I have to repeatedly call them to come and pick it up. The customer service people are great. They are curiosity, polite, and professional. The only way for them to get in touch with anyone from operations is by e-mail they do not answer the phone when they call. Also I have made numerous requests for call backs from the operations supervisor, manager and general manager and I only received a call back once from them. All I am asking is that they pick up my recycles when it is scheduled and to call when asked. read more

Cumming, GA. Two pickups in a row missed. Supposed to pick up Wednesday, so I called thursday . Was told it was be picked up in 24 hours. Called friday. They said someone would call back. No one did. Called saturday. They said someone would call back. No one did. Called Monday, They said it was scheduled for tuesday. No pickup. Called wednesday. They said it would be picked up that day and a supervisor (Daniel) would call within 24 hours, no one did and no one picked up the trash. Just called again. They said they would ask Daniel to call. I don't think he is gonna call.....I don't even know how to get my money back at this point. read more

They used to provide reliable service until Waste Management took over. Now, they pick up your trash whenever they feel like it. You never know. They once skipped picking up my recycling for over 2 weeks. It was 3 days short of being 3 weeks before they "stopped by to do their job" Every time I called, I was told it would be "picked up today" or "they will pick up tomorrow." When I said, "It's been over two weeks, she came back with, "There's been a delay with your route." A day or two is a delay, two weeks is failure to provide service. The only way you can get someone to answer the phone is to make the selection to setup new service. I don't get it. It's like they're purposely trying to sabotage the company. read more

Very poor customer experience this week caused me to cancel my service. I scheduled a large item pick up for this past Monday and the item was not picked up. I called Tuesday morning and was told the item would be picked up later that day. I called around 4 later that day and was told the truck was near my neighborhood and be by soon...they never came. I called on Wed and was told the same thing...nobody came. 4 days later and the item is still by the road. Very poor customer service experience. I just cancelled my service. They just lost a longtime customer. read more

This company is the worst to be with. Their missed to pick up my trash When I called the first time I was told by Jennifer that they was going to pick up my trash the next day. Well they never pick up. So I called them again and was lie to again over and over again for three days I called and every time they would say the same thing to me. I ask to talk to a supervisor so she transfered me over and I had to leave a message. till this day no one has called at back at all or pick up my trast. this is wrong for you to do to your customers. Your company should not be in business because you don't know how to take care of your customers and you lie to them. So for this your company is getting a BIG ZERO read more

I have no words for this company! I am beyond pissed off. I live in Gwinnett county and they just don't care they might pick up your trash an they might not. Customer service absolutely horrible they can care less they say that they're going to give it to management it's not going anywhere like I said they can care less I am a home owner and every Wednesday when they pick up trash I have to pick up other peoples trash that was in my driveway I am so over it and beyond mad I don't even know what to do. what am I paying for services for!! read more

I emailed the company asking how to handle a number of boxes and junk items. I was told to schedule "bulk pick up" and got an email on 9/14 to put the items on the curb for pick up on my regularly scheduled day. No pickup of trash or bulk items that day. Since then I've spoken with customer service in Birmingham, AL three times and received their assurance the stuff would be picked up. As of 9/27 the junk is still there. Don't have a problem with the Birmingham office but the service in Martinez, GA is very unreliable. read more

Our first missed pick up was July the 3rd. With observation of the 4th of July, we figured that the truck would come the following Monday, but never did. Showing patience and flexibility, we then waited for pick up on the 10th. A truck never came on the 10th. After four phone calls, my husband was able to get a pick up mid-week, after two weeks of missed service. Again the truck didn't come on the 17th. I called on Monday and complained. The phone operator told me that she would check with dispatch and be back in touch, but we never heard anything. Again today, July 24th we have had no service. At this point, we have given up on the company. read more

I have had Advanced Disposal for about 3 years. We have a fixed price our HOA negotiated. Yet, once again, they billed and charged my credit card for a higher amount. The customer service rep was very blase about it, saying they will issue a credit on my next bill. She said their "system" automatically adds rate increases when there is one and cannot recognize special fixed plans. Seriously???? I told her this exact same thing has happened in the past and I should not have to wait 90 days for a credit. I asked to speak with a manager who was to call me back. It's been 6 days, still waiting. Over charge billing and very poor customer service. I would not recommend them. read more

Do not trust this company! They took $80 from me for trash pickup then didn't pickup anything. I canceled the service and found a new company. I then requested a full refund and they sent me $30 back! WTH? I'm out $50?...they claim they were picking up the trash the whole time - what? Where? How? Never seen a truck and had a small mountain of trash bags in my driveway. The customer service people and manager is very rude and should not be in those jobs. Weak individuals make a dead company. read more

We have had Advanced Disposal for over three years, after moving to Sandy Springs from Dekalb county where we previously had Dekalb Sanitation that was great. Over these three years, Advanced has missed numerous pick-ups on our collection day. It has been frustrating to say the least, but we have stuck with them because we always hope that they'll do better and that it may just be a fluke. Plus, from what we heard, all of the companies here are terrible, so it made us reluctant to go through the hassle of switching. Over the past couple months the service has become so much worse; they have missed at least five pick-ups over a two-month period. The customer service staff is very professional and polite when I call them to report this, however, the part that really gets my blood pressure up is that the information they provide, nor on their web site alerts is ever accurate and I then spend the next several days playing 'cat and mouse' with our trash. Some recent examples are: Where we had the last snow that occurred on our collection day, they put up on alert that collection would be delayed by one day. The next day roads were fine in our neighborhood-no trash. Put can out again on Saturday-no trash. Checked the web site for any updated alerts and there were none and the original alert had been taken down. Gave up and put back in that night and the truck comes on Sunday morning without warning so trash wasn't collected. They finally picked up the following week, then missed the recycling pickup two weeks in a row. Called to report and was told, 'Don't worry, there was an issue in Sandy Springs but the trucks are out and they'll be there sometime before 6:30pm today.' No one ever came until three weeks later. The following week they picked up recycling but never picked up the trash. I called to report early the next day (Friday) and was told they would put in an urgent request but couldn't tell me exactly when they would come. They also seemed to be clueless to the fact that they didn't come at all (and this was our entire street, at a minimum.) So, trash was taken out again Friday and Saturday and no one came. When I called to cancel my service on Monday morning, I asked if they would still pick up the containers if they are full of trash, since they never collected it from the prior week. She said they would, however, advised me that we were scheduled to be collected that day (Monday), so I put the bin out again--nothing, so I put the bin back in the garage. Early Tuesday morning the truck comes!!!!! This scenario went on and on. Finally we had enough of this and switched to Waste Management. Hoping they'll be better, as it would be hard to imagine that it could be any worse. All we want is to have the trash picked up each week. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, especially since we were used to this in Dekalb, where the county was responsible for it. Having all these small companies all trying to do the same thing just doesn't work as well. If you think about it, the county knows they have to collect from every address and has built their infrastructure accordingly. These small companies in Sandy Springs have no real idea who is going to choose which one and they're running all over the place picking up trash from here and there, with a great deal of overlap. It can't possibly be very efficient. For example, on our street we have a few people with waste management, several with advanced, and one with american. This model clearly doesn't work. I can't currently speak to how any of the other companies are, however, I would avoid Advanced at all costs if you value your health and sanity! read more

For the past 2 weeks, the collector of our trash is the worst dumper ever! They use machinery now and still leave trash all over the streets and yard. The community I live in is mostly made up of elders (older people). It makes no sense that once the half empty your cans, your trash can ends up on another block, in the street or just plain missing. It's becoming ridiculous and somthing needs to be done company wide! read more

I contacted this company for new residential service, gave them all the requested information plus my payment for the first quarter. My credit card was charged that very day. Requested a refund and was told it would take four to six weeks. Are you kidding me, they charged my card the day I called, but it will take four to six weeks to get my money back. I finally got a resolution to my problem, by a great guy at the company named Matt Nicholas. After a year of back and forth, Matt called me just a few weeks ago and completely resolved the problem. If I could give them lass than 1 star, I would. In 20 years of garbage pickup my neighborhood has never had a truck come through on a Holiday until this Memorial Day. They blew through because there was no trash to pick up since they have always picked up the day after the Holiday and they gave no advanced warning of a change. Consequently, all of my neighbors put their trash out on Tuesday and there it remains at 5:00 on Thursday. I called customer service, but their call center must consist of a staff of two because I was on hold for over an hour before I spoke with someone who informed me that they did not know that the route manager was going to do a Memorial Day pick-up which had their phones blowing up. The woman reassured me that my account was noted and the route manager was aware that we needed them to come back, but still nothing. I have called 2 more times only to hang up after a 1.2 hour wait and another wait that I hung up on at 1.3 hours. My neighbors are jumping like rats from a ship and signing up with other providers. Customer Service? What Customer Service? This is a poorly run company who could care less whether I spend hours trying to get help with a situation that they screwed up.. Think twice before using these yahoos. read more

I have never felt the need to let people know of a company that was terrible, but the time has finally come. Advanced Disposal is it. I have had them for years, and for some reason this last year has been horrible. I have tried for months to cut them some slack. But enough is enough. They are very inconsistent with trash pickup. I have gone three weeks without pickup. When I would report it, the customer service rep was unapologetic every time. I cannot believe I paid for a service that did not happen and the customer service reps were not helpful. Do not use this company. You will regret it later. Rating should be zero. read more

I have been using advanced disposal for a little over one year, and I have had to call their center because they missed pick ups at least 7 times during that year. On one of these occasion's I actually had to call 3 weeks in a row to get my garbage picked up. Maybe it's my fault for expecting a service that I pay for to be reliable. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is because they did arrive on time for a scheduled bulk pickup which is free once a month. read more

I had a less-than-satisfactory experience with one of our local sanitation companies. Advanced Disposal has shown itself to be unprofessional and LIARS. We established service with them 5 weeks ago and EVERY SINGLE WEEK we have had to call to come to pick up our trash because they did NOT pick it up on the days you said they would. In addition, they canceled our service without even bothering to tell us that you had done so. The reason we found out is because, yet again, the driver did not show up! When we called, we were informed we had been canceled because the driver said he could not turn around on our street. That is one of the most asinine excuses I have ever heard. Why is it that Red Oak Sanitation, who services our neighbors & comes each Wed. like clockwork, can turn around? Advanced Disposal only hires incompetent drivers. In addition, we were told several weeks ago that a supervisor would give us a call. We NEVER received said call. I am putting Advanced Disposal on blast on every single social media site I can think of, beginning with Facebook and moving on to Google, the Better Business Bureau, Reddit, Linkedin, Yelp, and the list goes on. I will also be sending a letter to their corporate headquarters, specifically to Richard Birke, CEO. I detest shoddy customer service, but I especially detest LIARS and that is who they have proven yourself to be! As we say in Charleston, Bless Your Heart (it's NOT a compliment nor a blessing) and shame on ya! read more

It's hard to believe a company this bad can stay in business! We've had a commercial dumpster for several years and generally average to poor service. They missed our pick up last week and we had to pull overflowing trash out of the dumpster and take it to our personal residence the last few days. When I called them, they admitted they missed it, but would not credit us for the week because we did not notify them within 24 hours. So the policy is "if we screw up, we are not responsible unless you tell us we did within 24 hours." read more

I originally signed up in 2014 and price was fairly consistent for the first couple years. Then suddenly price shot up, I had threatened to cancel but someone (who no longer works with the company) offered a price rollback guaranteed for 3 years. Little over a year later, price went up again. I've called, emailed, and faxed several times but no one can address my price increase despite the rollback agreement. I can't wait til my 5 year contract is over next year, counting down to when I can finally switch to another company!! read more

I have just fired Advance Disposal today. We have been their customer for about 10 years after they bought at CWS and I must say they are one of the most frustrating companies I have ever dealt with. The Customer Service folks on the phone are very compassionate and pleasant, but apparently they have little or no control over the folks dispatching the routes, driving the trucks or emptying the containers. So many instances of missed pick-ups and excuses to include truck broke or we missed your street with no correction other than saying we will try to get it picked up but it may be next week... Just leave your cans at the street... When I cancelled my service, I am due a refund for pre-paid service, but was advised that it takes at least 8 weeks to get that... Refunds and cancellations have to go through several levels and finally off to Jacksonville for processing... Why would I expect anything more! There are so many much better options, I would recommend you explore those read more

Beware of Advanced Disposal. Fraudulent billing and the worst pick up for garbage collection I have ever had. We have been with them for over 10 years and we moved only to have the service miss pick ups all the time. Service fees and over billing have become ridiculous. I called in only to be treated like a criminal and asked to speak to a supervisor. They have not called me because they know it is a scam on their billing. I terminated the service today and switched to another well known company in my area. As a Broker/owner of a Real Estate company in Forsyth county, we will no longer ever refer Advanced Disposal to any of our clients for new service. read more

If negative star was an option they would get a negative 5 because Advance disposal is the best at sucking. Moved down the street 3 houses and for 4 weeks advanced disposal failed to pick up our trash. Not only that it took a whole week for a special pick up to occur. Our trash sat out for a whole week in front of our new home. During the first missed pick up, the call center directed us to go ahead and place our additional trash build up beside the container - when they came for the special pick up it was all too heavy for them to take! Oh yeah, if you plan on talking to anyone other than the call center girls, good luck! The upper management is too good to deal with problems and talk to their customers. They do not answer the phone for anyone and you're not allowed to leave messages. Don't use their service and spare yourself the headache. read more

I so wish that I could give no stars. I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. From start to finish. Actually, I can't say there is a "finish" because after 4 weeks, I am still sitting here with their bins they promised to pick-up (after canceling my service because of their failure to pick-up trash and recycling for 2 WEEKS in a row).
