BEWARE!!!!!!! I would give this office 0 stars if I could. I am a 23 year old woman and I've never had a cavity. I am living in Florida temporarily and went to this office for a routine cleaning. First, they are completely non digital. Everything is paper. X-rays, charts, you name it. I got a weird feeling as soon as I sat down in the chair. The dentist came in to check my bite and do the throat cancer exam. She was very rushed and hard to understand. Soon after she did the exam, she tells the hygienist I have an "occlusion" on my upper right molar. As someone who is not a dentist, I would not think this meant cavity. When moving to another chair, the hygienist said "oh you didn't hear you have a cavity?" No. I didn't. They are completely unclear with that they are doing and saying. Then, proceeded to tell me this is how God made me when I voiced my concerns about never having a cavity before. So, now I have one cavity that will "NEED" filled and 2 teeth they are "watching". Naturally, I'm concerned and thinking I have poor dental hygiene. Prior to this, I have had great dental hygiene history and never had any dental work done. Fast forward to a month later, I travel home to go to my personal dentist I had used previously. They took all new xrays since this clinic could not send ANYTHING digitally or even through the mail. Turns out I have NO cavities, NO discoloration and NO need for ANY fillings or additional intervention. I understand that each dentist is entitled to their own opinion and many dentists have different views on fillings and cavities. However, I got a very bad vibe from this dentist and felt like they were trying to take advantage of me because I was young and they knew I would be there temporarily. Lesson learned, always get a second opinion if a new dentist is telling you something crazy like that and don't trust this place. read more

I had a crown put on tooth number 30. The dentist billed the insurance company after I paid for it in cash. I had to go in the office to ask for my money to be credited to my charge card. It was credited back to me it was $717. Now after two months, the tooth has to be extracted via surgeon because the tooth is cracked below the gum, and I believe the dentist cracked the tooth and it cannot be corrected. This is a horrible office mainly the very rude receptionist. We make appointments and get there and then my appointment is an hour late than my husband. She said I was screaming yesterday when in fact she was the screamer and jumped up and through her arms in the air. As a patient I had every right to be upset. I was on the verge of tears. She told me find another dentist. My husband's cleaning took 20 minutes. Cleaning always take nearly 45 minutes to an hour. I called other dentist offices to confirm this. Beware of unnecessary up-charging here. I had noticed the few times I was in the office that it seemed nearly everyone around me was getting major procedures done and elderly patients were being talked into getting more done to 'prevent future issues' or because it was a 'better' fix. I thought, to each their own- it's odd so many people are getting these major procedures done but maybe they need them- no judgment. Following one of my normal check in's (I had been going to Dr. Calamarea for about a year and a half so this was maybe my third visit) I was told I had a cavity and that I needed a crown to fix it. I am unfortunately no stranger to cavities, so thought this was odd as I have generally well kept teeth (my hygienist there- who was lovely- always complimented me on how good of care I took), have been going to the dentist on a regular 6 month schedule since I was a toddler, and the only other times I have needed a cavity they were small because I have always been so diligent with dental care and caught them early. She continued to push me that I needed a crown and asked what color/material I wanted, etc. Eventually I asked if I could just get a filling and, clearly frustrated, she said I could but it wouldn't be 'as strong.' I then asked to see a price list and low and behold a crown was $600, a filling $50. I was appalled and my suspicions were confirmed. It's important to remember that healthcare is just as much a for profit business as anything. Self advocacy is key. I promptly left and found myself an amazing dentist with Dr. Scott in Daytona. I did in fact get a small filling and many years later, it's holding up just fine. Hope this helps someone else from being scammed by this salesperson of a dentist. read more

Dr Calimera is nice but my wife went there for 2 years. She made 3 or 4 sets of dentures and could never make anything to fit properly. They were always too big never fit properly. To this day she still has no teeth. We paid out hundreds of $$$$ and after all that she thinks she deserves to keep our money when she hasn't been able to make a proper denture that fits yet. She has destroyed her confidence. She never smiles. Thinks she looks like an old sea hag never wants to go anywhere. All we want is our money back so we can move on. A dentist is supposed to help you not destroy your life and thats exactly what she has done. We need help in dealing with this dentist and so far have not been able to get help from anyone. We've never dealt with a situation like this before. If she can't make a proper denture after 3 or 4 times it's time to move on to someone else. Her only solution is to start from scratch again and we have had it. All the money we have paid out and gotten nothing for any of this. If they would just give our money back we could move on and get her some proper dentures and maybe then she could start to get her life back. Needless to say this is a hot button issue with us. Enough said i just wanted to vent. There's simply no one to talk to regarding this issue and there's no excuse fore any if this. There not anything below 1 star or i would use that. read more

Quoted pricing of $2634 ended up being $3045. When I requested a written explanation, more than once, it never arrived. I was told they had issues with mail delivery. I delivered the written request in person and still waiting for an explanation. The bridge that was done is still uncomfortable. I believe there was nerve damage done and now seeking another dentist. I have also filed a complaint with the AARP dental insurance plan. read more

Worst dentist office ever! The office staff is rude rude rude! First of all the dentist did a filling that didn't even last a full year. Then the dentist referred me to another dentist for a TMJ that wasn't covered by my insurance. That's fine not her fault however, she got really upset that I chose to see another dentist that did accept my insurance. Then I had an oral surgeon pull my wisdom tooth. I went to Advanced Dental shortly thereafter about a tooth next the wisdom that was in pain. The dentist treated as dry socket I had to pay full price because it wasn't the dentist that extracted the tooth. Come to find out later it was not a dry socket I needed a crown on the tooth next to the wisdom tooth. So basically I had to pay for something that would have been covered by another dentist had I known that's what they were going to do but it wasn't even the correct treatment. When I tried to dispute the charges the office lady said and I quote "It's whatever". I give great customer service at the apartment community where I work even to people that aren't paying to live at our community. I expect that same courtesy and service especially when I am paying someone! read more
