I should begin this review by saying that I've had extensive work done here, and unfortunately a great deal of different procedures at other dentists and periodontists in NYC and Florida. Dr. Moskowitz is a dream dentist. He's as upbeat as he can be, yet he never sugarcoats the situation. He will answer endless questions, and never seems frustrated or irritated. I don't like dentists, and I am kind of a wuss when it comes to pain, but he is unfailingly gentle, and will stop and administer more anesthetic in the middle of a procedure if the patient wants it. I cannot say enough about my experience with him, and with his assistant, who also went to dental school, Dora. They are an amazing team, and I trust them completely. Why? I read some previous reviews about unnecessary work ordered, but I had all different options and price points discussed with me, and wasn't pushed toward the most expensive option. My father made the same decision to have a permanent bridge put in, and his dentist (in Florida) was not as good as Advanced Dental Care - he gets food caught under it and it irritates his gums. My bridge fits so well that I feel like it's nearly my natural teeth. They didn't rush to cement it in, but used temporary paste, until I was sure that the fit was absolutely correct. So why not 5 stars? They are EXPENSIVE. I have dental insurance, and with the insurance that they take, I'm still paying tens of thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. I know that there are less expensive dentists out there, but I've decided that the thoroughness and expertise that I have experienced here are worth the money. After all, it is your mouth, and I don't know about you, but I like eating. They make sure that they accommodate my schedule, and after hearing my dad complain about the dental work that he had done, I think it is ABSOLUTELY worth the cost.

Extremely long wait after appointment time to be seen, and the administration is horribly managed. This place is terrible. I went to get my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was standard and everything went fine. They verified that I was qualified for a loan and repayment plan but then I received a letter in the mail after my surgery saying that I did not qualify for the extended repayment plan despite being assured before my surgery that I was. They had me sign up for a plan that caused me financial stress under false pretenses. They called to reschedule my surgery twice which caused confusion with my job because I had to request time off for the surgery and then change it, twice. When I arrived for my surgery, I had to wait an hour and half to be seen by the surgeon whose assistant did not follow her instructions to x ray me while I waited, causing more of a delay. The guy before me had been waiting for two hours. The surgery itself went fine. They have very capable doctors. But so do A LOT of other dental offices. I received IV sedation and it was very fast. The big issue with this place is the management and administration. It is VERY poorly managed. They sent my scripts to the wrong pharmacy (TWICE!) and it took a few hours after my surgery to get them. Also, I requested an itemized receipt for my surgery both before and after my procedure. Was initially told hey can't give that to me until after the procedure. Then on 10/12 when I followed up I was told it would take a day to get to me. It's 10/17 and I still don't have my itemized receipt and they have not called me back. This is what I wonder: 1. I asked for an itemized receipt before my surgery and they said that they could not provide this until after the surgery because that's when they would be able to calculate the totals. 2. If that's the case why did they give me a solid price (the wording was, verbatim "the surgery will cost $2400". It was a definitive statement and not a quote) and have me sign up for a loan and repayment plan based on this amount if they can't actually calculate the totals until after the procedure? 3. Why are they unable to supply an itemized receipt when requested? Why don't they already have this information calculated and on file? Why won't they return my calls about this? Why are they being so shady about this? I am concerned that this place takes advantage of those who need dental work and who may be economically vulnerable, in a lot of pain, and who may be desperate to get this work done. I sincerely regret using Brooklyn Dental and besides my follow up, will never see them again.

A dentist at this office used 10-month-old X-rays to make a referral for a root canal... on a tooth that had already had a root canal just four months ago. That means one of two things happened: she either reviewed the wrong X-rays or failed to ask even the most basic questions about my recent dental history. Either way, that's unacceptable. Because of this, I was led to believe something was wrong with the wrong tooth. Trusting the "expert," I moved forward--only to end up getting a root canal on a completely different tooth that likely just needed a filling. Let that sink in. When I called the office to address this, the front desk staff--who are consistently unfriendly--treated me like I was inconveniencing them just by asking questions about my own care. It gets worse. The dentist called me back and initially doubled down, telling me I was wrong and insisting I had never had a root canal on that tooth. I literally had to explain, "I can feel the crown--I had this done over the summer." Only then did she finally recheck and realize she had been looking at outdated X-rays. Then came the apology. At that point, the damage was already done. Mistakes can happen--but this wasn't a small oversight. This was a chain of errors, poor communication, and dismissiveness that resulted in unnecessary dental work and significant cost. I personally know four other people who used to go here and have since left--and not because of my experience, but because of their own negative ones. This place has a pattern. You are trusting people with your health, your body, and your money. You deserve better than rushed decisions, outdated information, and a staff that treats you like a burden. They would tell you they need a stool sample if insurance covered it. I've had decent cleanings before, but this last one played out exactly like the patient above described. My teeth, especially the inner-side still feels rough and "gritty." When I got home and examined in the mirror, I couldn't believe how much plaque was left behind. This is about my fifth visit with them, and I'm definitely severing the relationship. Ugh!

It was really more than I expected. Very much appreciated. Dr. Kedem and Levite are also great and thorough with their exams. Luckily I haven't needed them as much as the Hygienist. The front desk, Inga, has also been very pleasant and respectful. I highly reccomend this office.

I told the person making the appointment about this history because I wasn't sure which dentist to book with. I wound up booking with the dentist who the secretary told me was also a gum specialist, because I just figured this person might be the most qualified there. I made the appointment a month out. I get there and after a brief conversation, the dental assistant is incredibly rude. There seemed to be some confusion for her over what was scheduled. She said I did not have a cleaning scheduled. She was noteably annoyed trying to explain to me that the periodontist doesn't do cleanings, which I already understood. I'm still not clear why she was getting so frustrated but I found it to be a really rude and impatient response in general, but especially to someone who she already knew had high anxiety around being at the dentist. She put her hand up and closed her eyes in annoyance, and told me she was going to get someone else to talk to explain things to me. When she left I decided I was not going to continue the appointment with this kind of person and I got up to put on my coat. As I was doing that I heard her in the other room say, "please teach her." Which, made it clear I was done with this office. If there was any problem that this woman should have been upset with, it's internally. Speak to the person who made the appointment. Maybe they were confused. I was direct when I told them I hadn't been in a while and I needed a cleaning and an exam. Standard. Don't take your frustrations out on the patient. So rude, so unnecessary.
