I've been coming here for years- yes, I said years. Only because it hurts so damn bad that I stopped going.. I do full body because I absolutely despise body hair any place on me except for lashes eyebrows and on my head lol that being said, it's super costly and painful. I highly recommend icing the spot you're getting done and taking a Motrin 30 mins before. I have an abnormally high pain tolerance, so I could handle laser but it's by no means comfortable and actually should be used in place of the electric chair in my opinion. Have them start at a lower level and work it up. Use the new machines only! DO NOT USE THE OLD MACHINES I promise childbirth is probably more comfortable than that damn machine. Plus the new one is more effective and takes 1/2 the time! Yay! You will be red and bumpy for 2-3 days after (they will tell you you won't be but again, that's a lie) but the results make the pain worth it. Did I mention that it really fricken hurts?! read more

I was disappointed in my experience at Advanced Cosmetic Center. I purchased a $1000 full body package for eight treatments, and ended up paying an additional $600 for an additional six treatments. Two years and 14 treatments later, I STILL have significant hair growth all over my body. For additional details, I have light brown hair and white skin, which should have been pigment enough for the laser to be effective. Additionally, there continues to be growth on my underarms and bikini line, which is much darker hair and lighter skin, which should be gone by now. The staff were very friendly, but overall, I did not find treatment effective and will be seeking to continue somewhere else. read more

I purchased a groupon recently and was very pleased with my experience at this center. The staff was extremely friendly and although I was nervous, they answered my questions and made me feel at ease. The rooms were very clean and they have the newest laser out there that hurts considerably less. While it's not completely pain-free it is more of a mild uncomfortable feeling than anything else. It's way less painful than waxing in my opinion. Also, their prices can't be beat! After my first full body treatment I already noticed unbelievable results. Point. Blank. Period. It doesn't work. The staff was friendly, but you're basically paying for them to be friendly to you. You're paying over $100 for a group of girls to smile and say "are you ready"? The area I had them do was beyond dark enough! I know how people say the laser won't work if it's to light, but i had them do my mini side burns (thanks Russian genetics) Nope! My hair is naturally darker, so I know a laser will work. But don't kid yourself, go to U of M laser center and shell out the money you don't want to for the results you'll love. read more

Can I give a negative 4 stars? Because I would. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to laser hair removal. I've been to several med spas across the states, and this is by far the worst. The lack of professionalism is unparalleled. I have a medical background and already knew that I had an appropriate Fitzpatrick score for this type of hair removal to be effective because forgot about this place completing any medically appropriate assessments. They don't take a medical history AT ALL. They don't ask what medications you may be taking, whether you're pregnant or breastfeeding, none of it. They clearly are only there to make $$$ regardless of the risks it may pose to the patient. Additionally, at every appointment I have been asked to upgrade, told they're running a special, or asked why I'm not getting my entire body done. Why? Hilarious because I honestly don't even know why I went back after my first appointment, but I'm certainly not returning for the remainder of the treatments that I've already paid for. I don't think I've seen any tech ever wash her hands. I've never been given pre or post-treatment instructions. This is very dangerous for patients who don't know how to care for their skin after laser because there are risks with this procedure. I'm just thankful that with my previous experiences and background that I already knew what to do, but not everyone is so fortunate and this place clearly doesn't care. Lastly, today I arrived for my morning appointment only to find the doors locked. No one was there and it was supposed to open 30 minutes prior. I understand that unforeseen events occur but this is a business. The mgmt should have called to reschedule. It's out of my way and I could have avoided a loss of 60 minutes productivity. Moral of the story: pay at your own risk, and I'll be taking my concerns up with the state medical board and county health department. read more

Advanced Cosmetics Center is one of those places you both love and hate. Love it because of the results, hate it because it can be painful in certain areas. A friend recommended this place after buying a groupon and having such great service. I wrote a great review after my first appointment because my hair did thin, and slowed growing (until a month later). My hair is still the same almost 2 years later. So I used my whole body package, all 8 sessions. Then they talked me into buying another, as ALL MY HAIR IS STILL INTACT AND GROWING STRONG. I could go on about this place but I'll just say don't come, don't waste your money or your Groupon money. I find it funny after every package they want to give you the next one at least 200$ less, so basically it wasn't worth 800$ in the first place. Most of the ladies were nice (I never really had the same one all 12 times). They did always ask if I wanted to do my upper lip. I found that a little disheartening cause I didn't think I had a mustache. In all, a waste of almost 2 years and about $1,500 because all of my hair is still growing. read more

My first experience with laser hair removal. They have the duel machine that they claim is "painless..." Still *&$%! hurts! I screamed for it to stop. The technician didn't seem to hear me. The traditional one hurts even more. Holy hell. That was so super mean. But I'm sure I'll do it again since I have a Groupon for it. Was able to call for same day appt, convenient. They speak English. Don't expect a spa-like treatment area or anything. Just an office with 4-5 treatment rooms, floors could use a re-do. read more

Be careful if you purchase a Groupon from here! I purchased a large area removal Groupon for $249 and when I went to redeem it, the lady asked if I wanted to upgrade for an extra $100 to use the machines that weren't as painful. She kept saying I can use my groupon but it's ONLY for the machine that's Very painful and I should pay the extra $100 for the Light Sheer machines which aren't as painful. I don't appreciate being CONNED because I shouldn't have to pay an extra $100. On their groupon site, Advanced Cosmetic Centers clearly states that they use Light Sheer machines. I called Groupon and they agreed that the company shouldn't have asked me to pay the extra money for a service I had already purchased and refunded me all my money. read more

The customer service and professionalism of staff is top-notch. I always request Mae, because she is knowledgeable and thorough. There are other technicians that are also very good! I purchased a Groupon for laser after much debating. I was very pleased with my experience. I upgraded to the "newer machine" as it is supposed to be less pain. I had them try both on me and I did notice that the upgraded version was much less painful. I wouldn't venture to say that it was painless, but "do-able". I have to admit I was a little unsure when I first arrived. While there is nothing specifically wrong with the look of the place, it is doesn't exactly have a spa-like feel. However, the results are amazing! I previously had laser hair removal done at a high-end beauty center where I paid almost double, and the results were not nearly as good as the results I got from ACC. Also, just an FYI that the laser hair removal does hurt (especially depending on where you are having hair removed from!) Even the Duet Laser, which is advertised as pain-free, hurts like heck. My regular doctor wrote me an Rx for numbing cream which brings the pain level down to a tolerable level. read more

Purchased a Groupon Pros: The treatment has reduced dark hair growth for me, finer, thinner and less prevalent, although not completely eliminated. The office has been remodeled, although the strip center it is located within is a bit frightening. Cons: Painful. You will be asked EVERY time you go in if you want to spend $1,000 to have your entire body done. And this amount differs depending on who does your treatment. Today, this being my fifth treatment, I feel as if I were semi assaulted with their laser. Either the person I had doing it was having a bad day, or I ticked her off. Needless to say she was rougher than normal, quick fire with the laser, did not use the gel all over like normal, which added to the pain, she knew I was uncomfortable, but told me to not move, she was very short with me, and she rushed through the treatment, and quickly left the room. You are not able to have this treatment done if you want to obtain a tan, either naturally or by tanning as the laser will affect the pigment of your skin. Therefore I will forfeit my last visit and perhaps pay more for additional treatment where I am not solicited every time I enter and not treated badly if I don't agree to give them $1,000. read more

I would never recommend this laser hair center to anyone. FIrst off all you walk in and the women working here do not even acknowledge that a customer is there, and they continue to yell in their own language to each other about appointment. I found it VERY disrespectful and unprofessional the way the women working here act in front of customers. I bought a package from groupon and i would recommend going somewhere that has at least taken a course in talking and communication to customers, especially making them comfortable during the process. The lady doing my legs did not even speak to me even as i tried making small talk with her. They were very "cheap" in the way they administered the lair and MISEED ALOT OF SPOTS. I won't even say how many times they burned me or were in such a hurry, they didn't even fully do the job. 3 times of rudeness was enough for me. i will be going somewhere else from now on. ive already posted this on google but i will post this on here to make sure that im heard. Literally the worst experience I've ever had doing laser. When i called to schedule an appointment, the lady at the front desk seemed so clueless and rude, not to mention the called sounded very bottle necked, almost as if it were a conference call, despite that, i make an appointment since it was cheap. I arrive to my appointment on time and was told that i couldn't have the treatment done because my skin was a bit tanned, you couldn't have told me earlier or done a consultation just to see if i CAN do it? she argued with me until finally taking me in, the machine was dirty and had hair in it from the previous person (god knows what part that came from) then she proceeded to tell me that i couldn't do laser until i shaved (uhhh, you also couldn't have told me over the phone?) luckily i had one and i did it. Came back, the machine was properly working, had to sit in the room for around half an hour just for the machine to be fixed, then we proceeded with the treatment. The lady was talking on the phone, constantly talking and halting the treatment, taking even more time for it to be done, at that point i had been there for 2 hours just to do a half hour treatment. I come out and the lady says for me to wait, she proceeds to go in the back for at least half an hour, i can hear her laughing and speaking in another language with the other employees, laughing, then i hear something like "he's annoying to treat just like blacks" i was ticked. The blonde haired lady comes out and proceeds to charge me double the price of the original quote, i questioned her, she said 'that's the price of the treatment" and i said "no it isn't, i was supposed to pay $50, not $100" she kept arguing that ht price can not be changed, they basically scammed me, i was so angered i flipped them the bird and left. Long story short, i would disregard most of the positive reviews, because they really don't seem legitimate after the experience i had. I would definelty recommend going to a place with more reviews and a much higher score. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. The staff is inexperienced. I had to buy several packages just for underarm, the 6 treatments are done SLOPPY as well as with an attitude as if the staff is working for free. The staff was very friendly on my first 5 sessions. On my last appointment, I arrived 10mins early and must have caught them off guard eating their breakfast because they were not that welcoming nor friendly at that time, they were very "short" with me. I referred a couple of coworkers here and one of them ended up with first degree burns on her wrists and her lower legs right before her feet to the point where they developed into scabs later. I am not sure who did it at the time nor did she. She said the lady seemed like she was rushing and she was telling her that those areas hurt but the lady just brushed it off and made it seem like she was being a baby about the pain. read more

This place is absolutely horrible! I purchased the groupon because I thought it was a great deal. But I will never go back to this place again. They rush to get you in and out in less then 5 minutes and do absolutely nothing to achieve results. I understand that laser hair removal takes time but all they want is your money! I like the treatments and the results. The facility is clean and well kept. However, some of the staff members are pushy. When I'm at my appointments, 2 of the ladies on the staff CONSTANTLY ask me in the exam room and then at the counter when am I getting my entire face (I currently buy packages for 2 small areas which are my upper lip and my chin because those are my concern areas ONLY) and my entire body hair lasered. Then they suggest a package of $600.00. The first 3 times I smiled and politely responded that when I'm ready I'll purchase a package to do so. At my last appointment I was asked again, so finally I told 1 of the ladies that I have other priorities and that spending $600.00 for laser hair removal isn't one of them. I was irritated and insulted. She apologized. I plan to revisit the facility because the location is convenient and clean and like I said I like the results, however I suggest the staff be mindful of the importance of professionalism. I could make a couple of suggestions to the staff based on my observations, so I suggest they back off. read more
