I was 10 mins late. I waited 5 minutes as one clerk was helping another patient. Another clerk appeared and offered no greeting and had an attitude from the start. She gave me a tablet to fill out documents and flatly stated well your appointment was at 10 and this will take you 10 mins to complete. I quickly completed it in 5 mins. She then asked for a credit card to be on file and I said no I am not comfortable with them storing my credit card. She rudely mentioned collection and I said I pay as I go no collection needed. I also told her how rude she was being. That got the office manager involved which was no help. The doc came out and was no help and then refused to see me. RIDICULOUS! The childless cat lady behind the desk is ruining that business. GO ELSEWHERE! Update - I went to Rochester Dermatology, received pleasant professional service, my insurance card was all they needed, no credit card on file needed! Based on other reviews it looks like many have had similar issues with this doctor and his rude staff. read more

I went for a Cool Sculpting consultation on 4/22 at The Skin & Laser Center. I realize they are not Ferrara Dermatology, but they are obviously connected, and the Skin & Laser Center doesn't have a yelp page. Also When I asked the technician who the manager was she said Alex (sp?) Ferrara. So all in the family. They were offering buy 8 cycles, get 8 free for the month of April. The technician determined I probably wouldn't need 16 cycles since I'm small, but I still have 2 problem areas I wanted to address. We discussed that she would use 6 cycles on my abdomen and flank in 1 session, then follow up in a few months for a 2nd session with possibly 4-6 cycles, so probably 12 cycles at the most. I called back on 4/24 and put down a deposit & made an appointment for 5/7. At no time did the technician or the receptionist tell me that I had to pay in full up front to ensure that I got the 2 for 1 deal or that I had to have the first session in April. When I arrived for my appt. I was told I didn't have the special deal because they hadn't ordered it because of the above issues. The technician blamed it on the manager, Alex Ferrara, saying that she couldn't do it now because they needed to pay Cool Sculpting and they had failed to do so because no one had ordered my special. Apparently a complete lack of communication between the receptionist who I made the appt. with, the technician who failed to convey that I needed to pay up front and start the process in April, and the manager who wouldn't honor my deposit after my consultation. The technician said I could buy 8 cycles for the same price that I previously thought I was going to get 16 for, and then buy the extra 4-6 cycles if I needed them (an extra $1800-2000). Gee thanks. I feel like this was a bait and switch and I left there feeling duped and really angry. Complete waste of my time, especially since I'd driven 30 minutes to get there, argued with them for 20 minutes, then 30 minutes home with no procedure. Wow. read more

Really tremendously poor patient care here. I recently called about refilling a prescription and was told I needed to have an appointment before a refill could be given. I scheduled the appointment for two weeks out, coincidentally for the day my prescription runs out. The office called 2 days prior to cancel my appointment because the doctor would be out of office. The rescheduled appointment is for 3 weeks later. I asked for a 1 month refill of my prescription to cover me until my appointment and was told no. I expressed that it doesn't seem reasonable to force me to lapse on a prescription I've taken for almost 20 years due to their need to reschedule and they told me there's nothing they can do. Clearly this place cares more about arbitrary office policy than actual patient care. read more

I have been going to Ferrara Dermatology for about five years. They are awesome! I have never had to wait in the waiting room for more than five minutes and am always seen quickly by the doctor once I'm in the room. Dr. Caretti is very caring and truly concerned about my issues. I had to have a biopsy of a lump on my eyelid. The nurse Jill came in to hold my hand while Dr. Caretti did the procedure. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles, but felt calm and comfortable while Dr. Caretti numbed the area. Highly recommend Dr. Caretti (and Jill) I would have given ten stars if I could. read more

So despite my swearing them off forever I made an appointment to go back. I only needed a Rx refill and they make patients come in every 6 months for an "exam" to get your refill. So I played the game. I was literally there for 10 minutes on a Saturday! It sorta irks me that they needed me to come in so they could write the Rx. I mean he didn't even examine me. I have been going to Ferrara Derm for about 2-3 years now. I am pleased with them, they book fast so if you need a certian day/time slot you really need to make an appointment in advance.... Although I have made most of my appointments, last minute and got in the same day! I have insurance so I am unsure as to prices. In regards to the dr, I like him, he listens and prescribed accordingly. The staff is nice and always have a smile. I come from Royal Oak to Grosse Pointe Woods for my visits so that tells you something. They also have a skin & laser center connected to the facilty, which I just visited on Tuesday to get a vitalize peel which was $125, the girls there are nice and friendly, I will go back for sure. read more

What a profesional, compassionate, amazing place. I had had a cyst for a long time but it started to bother me and made an appointment, the next day it burst and the pain was awful. I called the next day at 8:00 am and told them my predicament, the answer:"how soon can you be here". I rushed over there and they out me in a room immediately. The doctor appeared presently and took care of my interior cyst burst. What a relief. And the staff so amazing friendly and helpful. We see her for all kinds of skin issues. We are very happy with Dr. Carreti and the whole practice located in Grosse Pointe Woods. read more

Everyone at the office was very Covid conscious. I felt very comfortable with the new Covid protocols in place. The building is very nice looking and clean. Total lack of respect for their patients!! I will never return!! When I arrived the door was locked so I walked in on the dermatology side she said I had to go back outside and call , which I did- so now I am six minutes late AND THEY CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT! I have waited for these doctors and aesthetician's for 30+ minutes as we all have! obviously the patients time isn't respected at all ! they don't care if you have to wait ! But let it be known that they will not wait five minutes for you!! There's too much competition to tolerate that lack of respect of MY time and effort let alone the thousand dollars it would cost me! and the thing is this is their fault due to their over-the-top ridiculous practices! I mean you're getting a facial , Botox, lip injections etc and right up in their face! You can't wear a mask when you are having those procedures done!! And the other side of their practice had a full lobby of people waiting! Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else! read more

Regrettably, I have always used Dr. Ferrara's practice for small immediate treatments and concerns while using a more reputable doctor in Bloomfield Hills for skin cancer checks and procedures. This practice lacks due diligence, they have never inquired or completed a skin screening on me. I will no longer tolerate Dr. Ferrara's and his employee's poor practices after they billed something as a surgical procedure unbeknownst to me and refused to correct their error. read more

I took my mom here for the first time 2 weeks ago. After the results come back from her tests, we will be looking for another dermatologist. The receptionist is not friendly, they double book appointments, you have to wait at least 1/2 hour in the waiting room, and Dr. Ferrara leaves a lot to be desired! He has absolutely no "bedside" manner. He is very arrogant and full of himself. He is very quick with explaining things and before you know it he's headed out the door! Tell me it's not all about money. My thinking is one day it will all come back to him and he will be treated like he treats his patients. read more

Went to Dr. Ferrara for moles. He was great and relieved my anxiety over the possibility of cancer. Also, during my visit I had tons of questions and he answered each one and took a lot of time with my visit. Usually you feel rushed when I visit other Dr.'s but he was great and took the time to answer everything I had concerns about. The staff was very nice as well. It felt like a revolving door, and I didnt even get to ask questions, and I wasnt even treated thoroughly,my lesions are still there.
