I've been meaning to write a review for a long time....but wanted to see how my overall health and sessions went before giving it a full review. I first started to see dr. chang 7 months ago and I am so happy that I found a great doctor. On my first visit, I felt like I've know Dr. Chang for ages. He listened carefully to all of my "issues" and provide me with the best treatment options. I originally came in for migraines where I used to get auras, nausea, major head crushing pain. I previously visited a neurologist to see how they can help me. and their only solution was pain meds. the neurologist couldn't tell me what the source or cause of my migraines were. They just wanted me to "mask" the pain. no thank you! So I heard that neck adjustments would help with migraines. I was like what? Adjustments? really. I was skeptical at first..but after weekly adjustments, my migraines are gone! I don't want to jinx myself, but i feel like i've been healed! I am so happy that they're finally gone. No need to carry around migraine rx anymore. Now, back in July, I slipped and fell on my back. =( Another reason to see dr. chang again! He's been working with me ever since to get me moving and feeling better. He's always looking out for his patients and recommending the best course of treatment. Stretches, Ultrasound, Adjustments, etc. they all worked. I'm still healing, but getting better everyday. He really cares about his patients and I am lucky to have such a great doctor. He's the type of doctor that definitely goes above and beyond! I called once when the office was closed. I didn't know he was out with the flu. He sounded really sick. But he was willing to drive in to help me with my back. How many doctors would do that? The entire office is very friendly and relaxing. It's always easy to get an appointment when I need during lunch. I pop right in, get tuned up, then head back to work. The place is pretty big with multiple rooms and clean. They even have great massage chairs in the waiting room for you to relax. He treats the problem. He explains the problem clearly. He listens to your needs. He works with you to get you feeling better. I would highly recommend Dr. Chang!!! read more

I always have this fear of walking out of a chiropractor's office paralyzed or something, but nothing about Dr. Chang or his office is scary. If your back won't crack he doesn't push it. Buuuut, to help you have a more beneficial experience, he has these awesome massage chairs in the waiting room that help relax you. And on top of that he's pretty talkative so you're nice and distracted when he starts popping you left and right. If that sounds more like torture than good, they also have an on-site masseuse who is equally amazing! My back is always messed up so I have her do a deeper tissue massage which can be a litttle painful, but definitely worth it. She gives hour massages and you walk out feeling limp. Both of them are really accommodating with appointment times (he postponed his lunch for me once) and you never have to wait long. Not that you'd mind sitting in those chairs longer..... read more

Dr. Jesstofed Cacho was my chiropractor and I did not see or consult with Dr. Chang at all. The only massage they did was lay me on a massage bed to loosen my muscles, which didn't really help. He cracked and adjusted me without warning. He did not tell me to breath in and out while adjusting. My muscles were very tense since I recently got into a car accident and he did not consider any pain I had before adjusting me. I do not recommend coming here. read more

Great service. Didn't try to sell me on a maintenance plan like the other Chiro's. I know sometimes its needed, but I've been burned before, so one bitten twice shy kinda scenario. He's good, friendly and very professional. I'll be going back. read more

Dr. Chang is amazing. Angie, the receptionist, is friendly and also really represents the office well. I was in an automobile accident while on vacation in southern CA. He treated me with excellence and was only as aggressive as necessary. He was very thorough in all things and has some equipment other chiros don't have which (I believe) really aided in my healing during the first week. When it came time for me to leave, he provided me with my x-ray films and a brief synopsis to take to the next chiropractor. Long story short, when I began with the new chiropractor near my home, he said to call and thank Dr. Chang because he was impressed with the progress made and that Dr. Chang literally saved my neck. I read all the long comments everyone gave, and could not agree more. Dr. Chang is the best chiropractor I have ever had. He really cares about his patients. Unlike some of the doctors, he always listens to you even he is very busy. English is not my first language, so he spent a lot of time explain things for me patiently and nicely. Besides, he always tries to figure out the cause of your problems instead of just adjusting you. He arranged MRI and nerve tests for me. All his staffs are very friendly. Angie, the lady at the front desk, always talks to me like I am an old friend. They really make me feel like at home. I also see Joyce. She is a very professional massotherapist. I feel relaxed after she massages me. She is also a wise person with charming personality. Sometimes we chat during the massage. she gave me a lot of advice for my life and career. Anyways, I am really glad I found these people! I wish more people could go see them and feel good in the future. :D read more

I have been to over 10 chiropractors in my life. My one complaint, they all do different methods of treatments. Some used tools, others used massage, some did pillows, some didn't crack my bones. Dr Chang is average with what I've seen, hence the 3 stars with an additional star removed in a reason explained below. My favorite doc is in Santa Barbara, and Dr Chang was near my house. . I went to him off and on for a year or so, and started going when I got in a car accident. He was treating me regularly for my neck pain, and we were waiting to hear from my insurance to get an approval for an MRI. The day he said he was going to get insurance approval, he did a procedure using a pneumatic collar. While he was pumping, my right arm went crazy with shooting pain. Afterwards, I had tingly fingertips on my right hand. Turned out after a visit to a neurologist, an MRI and a few consultations, turns out I had a burst disk in my c6-c7 that was compressing my nerve. The neurologist is uncertain if the disk was damaged by the accident and that it was exacerbated by inflating the collar too far. The disk is like a jelly donut, and the donut is cracked and the jelly is leaking compressing the nerve next to it. Two years later, 6 months of PT, and lots of stretches, I still have a numb right index finger, and occasionally lose sensation in it and my neck makes a creak that my friend could hear while standing next to me and I turned my head. Again, just an average chiropractor that's affable. Take that with a grain of salt. I think some patience with getting my MRI first before trying a new technique. read more

I love this place! Okay I get it - it's a doctor's office, but I'm amped. In the past, I've been to several different chiropractors who seemed to care more about gouging me for their care and insisted I come back four times a week to "work out my back problems." I've had reoccurring back problems for awhile now and they got me in right away and did a full body assessment. Dr. Chang is thorough, charismatic, and accommodating. He works with my schedule, my insurance, and is nice to boot. I've never had any issues with scheduling either. His staff is just as great, which makes sense because it's all in the family. His cousin is the massage therapist, and she rocks too. She gave me a traditional Hawaiian massage that hurts so good. I keep coming back because of how outstanding the patient care is, but the amazing massage chairs in the lobby help too! read more

What can I say about Dr. Chang. One of the best chiropractor doctors. Effective, very thorough. Easy to work with. I had a back problem dating back to early 2000. With Dr. Chang's examination and monthly visits i have felt nothing but better. He will work with you to figure out the issues that are going on, as long as you try to work on what he recommends to you. read more

After 2 visits to Dr. Chang, I am feeling better than I have in years. He is very easy going, professional and attentive to the needs of his patients. He did not try to sell me on other services or try to scare me into more frequent visits than necessary like other offices. He has fixed two chronic problems that I've had in my mid back and upper neck. The neck issue (at the base of my skull) he identified as an issue related to my tight jaw. He performed a technique that stretched the jaw muscles and not only did it alleviate the neck pain, but it also got rid of my cracking jaw, which I've had my entire life! While he said the jaw cracking will likely come back, the fact that he was able to fix that with a simple stretching technique is amazing! I don't know why other chiro's or dentists I've seen haven't performed or recommended the technique before. He has definitely been a miracle worker for my chronic aches! I'd recommend everyone who has pain that won't go away. Dr. Chang will help you! read more

Got in a car accident couple weeks ago. Initially didnt have pain but couple days later my neck got really tight and i had pain in my back. I was referred to Family Radiology by Dr Edward Chang 1317 El Prado Avenuee Torrance. When I took the appointment with Dr Chang's office, I specifically made sure they were in network. But Dr Chang's office appears equally shady. They referred me to this radiology without bothering to check if this radiology is in network or not. After arriving at Family Radiology, I specifically asked the reception to make sure my insurance is checked. The girl at front desk Geovanni Lopez, checked my insurance multiple times and asked for co-pay of $25. Now 3 weeks later I get an EOB from my insurance company saying Family Radiology is NOT in network and that I'll be billed $850!!!!!! $850 for a simple spine x-ray??????? These fraudulent shops are what are driving Healthcare in United States out of control. They could have very well billed me 8 Thousand since it looks like this world, it's totally in their hand to bill whatever they want. There is no good faith estimate. There is total LIE. Even after they check your insurance and bill you co-pay, you'll still get a surprise in your inbox. Please avoid Dr Edward Chang and Family Radiology. They are total liars who will fraudulently first lie to you saying your in network, and then fraudulently get you to sign paperwork and bill you exorbitant amounts later. read more

I love this place!!! I gwt my facial acupuncture here and I can really see the difference! !!! And adjustments are the best!

I have to be honest. This place looks new, clean, state of the art sign in machine that asks you tons of Q's about your health and family. Has many rooms and equipments look spotless. Only one problem - not the greatest chiropractor and the WORST billers EVER! Dr. Chang's skill was not so great, because I never met a chiropractor who made my muscles hurt after cracking up the spine and neck. Also, because this was a visit due to a car accident - and I made it more than abundantly clear that the other guy's car insurance company will pay, Dr. Chang said he will send my x-rays to a specialist. Also the receptionist insisted that she get my health insurance for future purposes so I gave it to her. Now I regret this visit and giving my personal information to them VERY MUCH. I got a letter for Edgar Chang, threatening me that unless I pay 161 dollars that MY HEALTH INSURANCE rejected (keep in mind that I told them that car insurance company will pay) he will send the bill to the COLLECTION AGENCY. WTF happened here? I will send him a very pissed off letter on Monday and have him correct his mistakes. Let's see what happens. Just avoid these people altogether. It's for your own sake. And of course that's not everything that happened. There are more.. one of which was very irritating - I told them to hold my x-rays from being sent to "the specialist" because I wanted to think about was it worth someone else's insurance money, but what do you know, they said they sent it even after I told them not to a few days before. Then, the x-rays were in someone else's possession and after a long time of requests and wait, they said they won't give it to my new chiropractor unless 15 or 25 dollars were paid for BS reason. I have had significant back pain as a result of Dr. Chang's treatment. Dr. Chang adjusted my lower back without seeing X-rays or an MRI. During my treatment I saw very few patients in his office and it was clear that Dr. Chang mainly treats Worker's Comp patients. On the positive side Dr. Chang appears to be caring and takes plenty of time with his patients. On the other hand, Dr. Chang was negligent in stretching and adjusting my back without complete diagnositic evidence to support his approach. Be careful when you trust your back to anyone! read more
