Seeing Derek was the best thing I could have done for the radiating sensation I was feeling in my foot. This was my first time ever going to a chiropractor so I was bit nervous and skeptical if this session could help. Derek was extremely detailed in explaining what he does, what my issue was and how he would attempt to solve it. I was able to ask all the questions I needed and he was patient to answer them all. Before I knew it he began his procedures and adjusted where he felt needed to be. My pain went from a 8 to a 2 by the next day and completely gone by day 3. I came to Dr. Levy's office for lower back pain due to carrying my 6 months baby around, also I had a mild pain on my left hip from 10 years ago. One visit, one adjustment by Dr.Levy and I felt 80% better! He is very knowledgeable and explained to me where the issue was and how he would adjust me before the treatment starts. Out of my expectation the pain just kept going away for the next 2 days. I did two visits total and now I can stand up straight, carrying my child up and down the stairs without pain. I've never been to a chiropractor and to say I was nervous is an understatement. But Dr. Levy had something about him that was calming. I enjoyed talking to him about music and surfing that by the time I laid down, I wasn't nervous anymore! I was stiff, yes, but nervous, hardly! When my regular chiropractor was unavailable for about a week, I decided to try Dr.Levy instead of bearing with the pain any longer. The appointment was made quickly and frankly I was leery. Dr. Levy has been our chiropractor for several years now, even before he moved to his current location, and we couldn't be more satisfied. Even our son relies on Dr. Levy now. I have used a couple of chiropractors in the past, many of whom seem more interested in scheduling many appointments, but Dr. Levy seems to know exactly what to expect as far as whether you might just need an adjustment with some rest at home afterward, or some follow up, but we have never felt like his recommendations aren't spot on. He's very fluent, has lots of experience, and has a great beach town personality. Anyone frustrated that they were "more sore after their first visit" clearly doesn't understand that chiropractic frequently requires multiple visits since the body "gets used to" the bad position and needs to be readjusted a couple of times, along with rest and ice or heat, etc. to get things to settle back in its proper place. read more

This review is for my husband since he doesn't have a Yelp account. My husband had been suffering from chronic shoulder pain for years now. In the past, he did deep tissue massages, acupressure, acupuncture, stretching, PT - anything he can think of to avoid surgery. Some of those provided temporary or partial relief. He had not tried chiropractic treatments. He works in the medical field so he was pretty skeptical. He brought up seeing a chiro since he figured he's tried everything else and there was nothing to lose. I came across Dr Levy on Yelp and my husband had two sessions with him. The appointments were quick and very effective. He definitely does not drag anything out to keep patients from coming back over and over. About three weeks ago, I woke up with pain in my lower back pain with intermittent needle piercing. I had difficulties walking, sitting and laying down. I couldn't stand up straight. I tried the ice, heat, stretching, TENS, rest but I couldn't get relief. Nothing made it better. I called Dr Levy's office and the receptionist asked when i wanted to come in. I expected sometime next week, but was surprised when she said an opening this afternoon at 3. I arrived on time, and she had me in a room immediately. Dr. Levy came in and asked what was wrong. He has the best bedside manner of any of my doctors - listens to you, down to earth, warm personality, very compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. He said that he could help me. He came back with a heat pad for my lower back. Followed by several adjustments on a padded table. When I stood, I was straighter, and my hips were even. Oh my, it was such a relief! I made another appointment for a couple days later (who would have thought I could be better in one appointment...it had been weeks of pain), but Dr Levy told me to cancel if I felt better. He explained that I should not wait this long if I have back pain again. I now understand the bones alignment gets tweaked, the nerves pinched and the muscles get stretched trying to hold it all together. Dr. Levy says "Come back if you are in pain".
