I just wanted to share a quick positive experience I had with Mountain Auto Care, even though they…read moreultimately weren't able to service my car. After our check engine light came on, we called and spoke with Cameron. I explained what had happened, and he let me know that unfortunately they were getting ready to be closed for the next couple of days and likely wouldn't be able to service our car until early the following week. Even with that, he suggested we still stop by if we could. He said he could at least scan the car, see what was going on, and hopefully give us some direction. About 15 minutes later, we showed up and Cameron scanned the car for us. He confirmed that we were dealing with a cylinder 1 misfire (P0301), wrote down the code for us, and gave us some advice on how to diagnose the issue, figure out what was causing it, and hopefully get ourselves back on the road. What stood out to me was that he was genuinely willing to help even though he knew he probably wasn't going to get the business. He was getting ready to close within the next 30-40 minutes, but still took the time to talk with us and point us in the right direction. We ultimately had to handle the repair ourselves, but Cameron's willingness to help when he didn't have to was absolutely worth mentioning. Sometimes it's the small interactions that make you remember a business, and this was definitely one of them. Thanks, Cameron, for taking the time to help us out!

We recently returned to Denver from a SW and NW trip that started Oct 23, 2024. Just days, after…read morewe had started our trip our 2015 Prius experienced an intermittent overheating warning light. We stopped at Dependable Automotive Service without an appointment and the very personable service tech manager very quickly took our car, plugged it into his diagnostic scanner, then put the car up on the rack. He revealed to me the likely issues including the emission system that could be the culprit. This was not a simple radiator or hose leak. He pointed out 5 possible problems. Due to the complexity of the issue and the fact that he would have to order parts not available nearby he indicated that for him to work on the issue it would likely take a week to repair. We were on a tight schedule so this was a problem. After a discussion with the manager he agreed with me that we would likely be okay going onto the Toyota dealership on our route through Flagstaff to get assistance. Well, as it turned out that one of the 5 possible problems was the culprit though it was also, regretfully, the most expensive problem in the catalytic system costing us three grand. But we were fine the rest of the trip well into December. We very much appreciate the Dependable Automotive manager's professional and expedient help in us getting back on our trip. He revealed a long and strong technical experience and competence that I have often found rare with so many independent auto servicers in my well over 50 years of owning vehicles.
