They did an amazing job. I was getting ready to trade my car in and it was really dirty. I've had it for over six years, and it's had two kids in it. I was mostly concerned with the inside. It was late Saturday afternoon, and he said it would take about 5 hours and we should leave it overnight. He also recommended a polish, and said it would give a good return on investment for the resale value. We picked it up the next day. They said it took forever, which I'm guessing means that they worked on it for longer than five hours. It looked amazing. Shiny outside and inside. There was a mold stain under one of the car seats that was completely gone. He was not exaggerating about the return on investment. We took the car straight to CarMax to get a valuation, and they offered $500 more than we thought the best case scenario price would be if everything was perfect. And that was with the car's AC being broken and a crack in the windshield. This was totally worth it. I just wish we'd taken some pictures. But trust me, the difference was shocking. read more

This was certainly an ordeal. I bought a Groupon, but only after making sure on their website and on Yelp that they accepted walk ins. I'm in Costa Mesa, and so this was certainly a drive. I drove the 40 minutes over, and upon walking in, was told that they had no openings, and to call ahead. Whatever, I was mad but I understood that I should have called. I made an appointment for the following week. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, hoping to knock out any paperwork needed. When I got there, the front receptionist chatted on the phone the entire time, even after I was clearly done filling out there paperwork. I probably stood there 5 minutes before she looked up from her phone and accepted my paperwork. The man that then helped immediately tried to up-sell me, before proceeding to tell me that it would be "probably at least 15-20 minutes" before they could get to me. I was frustrated, but I've worked in enough different businesses to know that sometimes you fall behind. I waited about an hour and a half, before receiving a call that my car was done (I was in the waiting room). I walked out, and gave it a once over. It looked great from a distance. The car was shining and beautiful. I tipped them, and drove away. About 20 minutes down the freeway, I happened to look up at the roof, and discovered a splattering of warm chocolate dots all over my passenger side roof lining. I had to scratch it and smell it to make sure, but there was what appeared to be flecks from a Hershey's bar on my roof. I immediately called, and sent an email, both of which I got no answer to. I wanted to wait a week, because I didn't want to immediately go to yelp. After over a week of no response, I figured it was time. PROS: Great service. You're paying for what you get. Came in for a complete interior and exterior detailing along with an engine cleaning. My interior was absolutely disgusting with tons of dirt, trash, and food crumbs all over the place, in addition to a dirt crusted exterior. Easily booked a same day appt. through text. I called first and an automated text came back since no one answered, but I received a return call within the hour. They guy I spoke to accidentally thought he was calling his girlfriend so when I answered I didn't get the most professional greeting lol anyways I dropped the car off and got done within less than 2 hours (in the middle of the week, can't speak for a weekend appt) and they honored the Groupon price for the express hand wax since I didn't buy it yet. Be aware the Groupon requires a 48 hour advance booking. I also didn't get anyone trying to sell me more than what I asked to have done like some other reviews. The place doesn't look like a car wash from the front, more like a store, so a little hard to find. The magic probably happens out back. Be careful entering or exiting the plaza, it's a pretty steep incline. Worked with a lady when we got there and didn't meet anyone that actually worked on my car. She did a quick check before giving me the keys so I'm assuming she's in charge. My car came out beautiful though, probably shinier than the day I bought it! Interior was good too. BUT they parked my car outside the front of the shop over the sidewalk -____- so when I backed out it scraped the underside of the front bumper. Seemed nice on the phone, made an appointment easily (although their website for scheduling appointments does not work. It freezes on the fifth step). Show up at appointment. Door automatically chimes when I open it and walk into the office/lobby area. Wait for a minute, no answer. Yell "hello" a couple of times, no answer. Open and close the door a few more times to set off the chime, no answer. I can hear people in the bays working. Take a few steps through the door to the back, yell "hello?" a few more times, knock as loudly as I can. No answer. I'm not going to go further back into a work area that I'm not authorized to be in, so I go back to the lobby. A few more rounds of "hello" and triggering the door, and finally after 5-10 minutes, I just leave. I guess they didn't want my money that badly. A few weeks ago, someone hit my car on the freeway. Luckily, their car had a rubber-like lining so when it hit the rear of my car it didn't dent or scratch it but instead left a black skid mark. After consulting a few people, they all mentioned that a body shop wasn't necessary and that a good buffing (or whatever) to that area would do. Now, I'm not one to get my car detailed (or cleaned for that matter) often. So when I found Alan's Superior I decided to everything all at once: get rid of the mark AND get my car detailed. After speaking with one of the guys there, we decided to go with the Hand Clay Bar and Wax special for $120 (another reason I went with this special was because I had a lot of tree sap on my car). It took them about 5 hours before I received a call to pick up my car. Luckily, I had someone who was able to pick and drop me off that day, but for those who aren't able to do that, they have a very nice/comfortable waiting area inside their shop with TVs, waters, and free wi-fi! As for the job....IT. WAS. BEYOND. MY. EXPECTATIONS. At first glance you could immediately tell the difference. Not only was the skid mark gone, but so were all the little specks of dirt (oxidation?) I had around my car. It felt buttery to the touch and I swear, if I had accidentally dropped food on my car that instant I wouldn't mind having to lick it off. The interior was also cleaned out nicely. The screen, cup holders, side of chairs, etc. were all wiped down and vacuumed as well. The team there is so amazing and so easy to work with. They won't pressure you into getting anything you don't need and will work with you! All these pictures people post up don't do enough justice. I made an appointment to get the headliner on my 2006 Honda Accord replaced. Santos had previously given me a quote through Yelp and it was the best deal I got when shopping around. I read all the great reviews Alan's Superior Details had so my expectations were on the high end. I show up to my appointment and I was greeted by Santos who immediately offered me freshly made coffee before we even spoke about business. He was very professional and his customer service skills were exceptional! His customer waiting areas were very clean with TVs and comfortable oversized couches. Santos and I went out to look at my car and he suggested some detailing work on my vehicle. I felt no pressure to add the work but when he told me he could make my car look like the day I drove it out of the dealer, I became interested but just a bit skeptical. I agreed to the work and I am so glad I did! My car really did look like the day I bought it. The paint was brought back to life and it looked nice and shiny and the interior was impeccable! WOW! Over the years my car has taken a beating (spills, dirt, stains, etc.) and now it really does look brand new! And about the headliner... shortly after I dropped off my car, Santos called me to let me know that the liner for my car was discontinued due to manufacturer defects. He told me that he could replace the liner but that it would not be a Honda headliner due to it being discontinued. I agreed because I was tired of the hanging fabric over my head. They did such a great job on matching the headliner with the original. If Santos wouldn't have told me that the liner was not a Honda liner I would have never known! They even fixed a door seal that had separated between the door and liner at no extra charge and without me having to ask. I really appreciate the high level of integrity shown toward me as a customer. When I picked up my car one of the staff members showed me the work done and charged me for the services. He was very polite and professional and urged me to call in if I had any questions or if I saw anything that needed to be corrected. So it has been 1 month since my family and I went camping and I accidentally spilled lighter fluid in the back of my 2013 Toyota Sienna and did not notice it until we started to smell it. The lighter fluid soaked in for a good 24hours by Sunday and I called Alan's superior and spoke with Santos who gave me the best estimates and honest chat on why other places will not do as good as a job because other people will over charge and will not do as a thorough job as he would. I can't say enough as to how great my truck looks after leaving Alan's Superior Details! I don't get my truck washed as much as I should, mostly because of needing my vehicle during the day and not wanting to go to just any car wash with dirty rags, or a drive thru car wash with abrasive brushes. I am super bummed out about my interaction with this place. Originally I was excited because I found them on Yelp and I seen "Santos" came highly recommended. I made an appointment online for the "Upholstery Express Detail" but was unsure about what "Bay" I should choose since it makes you choose one while scheduling the appointment. I decided to call the next morning and asked to speak with Santos since he came high recommended. Luckily he was the one who answered the phone. I explained that I was more so concerned about the interior of my car being detailed: water stains on seats, one minor chocolate stain, and dog fur. I also mentioned that the Upholstery Express is what seemed to fit best when I looked at what they offered online but really wanted his opinion. We discussed a few different options before scheduling but in the end decided he would just look at my car upon arrival and let me know what the best option was. When scheduling I wanted to MAKE sure we scheduled on a day he would be there even if it meant waiting a week or so. We decided on early morning 4th of July. He said he and his guys were going to be there for about 4 hours that day in the morning so it would have been perfect. I felt secure that this was going to go smoothly after this phone call and was super relived I found someone great! Morning of 4th of July: I woke up early enough to get my whole car cleaned out and make it on time by 8:30 a.m. for the appointment. I pull up and the very nice receptionist girl let me in the office. (I didn't get her name but she was pleasant). I start to let her know what Santos and I spoke about and that the Upholstery Express which was $79.99 and that's what I was interested in since it seemed to really pinpoint the interior of the car which is what I was worried about. I told her I just wanted to make sure with that service the water stains would for sure come off, she said she wasn't sure. She was new and wasn't really familiar with the different options they had. I asked her to come out and check out the stains just to make sure because I did not want to pay the money and still have the stains there. She took a look and basically said the same thing: The Upholstery Express won't go all the way in deep with my seats but the stains MIGHT come off. I asked her what else they had to offer that might be a step above that deal and she said that they had a $189.99 deal and $40-$50 extra for the dog fur and she still wasn't 100% sure the water stains would come out. I thought "MY GOODNESS THAT IS QUITE A DIFFERENCE!" At this point we were going back and forth for a while (mind you my bf was outside waiting to drive me home) so I asked if maybe she could just bring Santos out to help me the way he was supposed to in the first place. She then said he was not there and was not coming in that day because he has several others shops but she could bring a worker who was there to give me his opinion. I said the was great but thought to myself "WHAT THE?! He specifically said he would be here to help me out with everything!" I felt so discouraged at that point and already knew I was most likely not going to go through with it. She brought him out with her and asked him if the stains would come out with the Upholstery Express, he spoke Spanish and I don't so she translated. He said he would not go into full detail. So I asked what exactly does that mean? She went back and forth and honestly was just contradicting what she had originally said. I finally asked her again if he could just give me a final YES or NO on the stains in which he answered "most likely". I was just soooo bummed out at this point. They both walked back inside and I asked her if I could just have a minute in which she replied "yes of course!" I took a minute to let me boyfriend know what was going on and we both agreed that the whole interaction was just a huge disappointment and I was just being messed around with. I went back in and explained to the receptionist that I was very sorry but I was just going to hold off. I let her know how disappointing & unprof. it was that I made an appointment on a day Santos said he would specifically be there and spent nearly an hour and a half of my time there and he was nowhere in sight. We talked for a bit about it and then I told her she was very helpful and if Santos could maybe even just give me a call back to reschedule on a day he would DEFINITELY be there that I would totally be up for that since I understand mistakes happen. It is now July 11th and still no call. Clearly he did not care about how bad this meeting went nor my business or concerns. All in all the receptionist was very nice. She may not have known everything and went back and forth quite a bit but like she said, she was new, so I understand. As for Santos, I am super disappointed. His reviews are great and I am sure he does awesome work but the customer service was below zero for me on his part. Be careful my friends! read more

He also went out of his way to test what was going to get them out before my appointment free of charge AND he tested my clear coat with one of his gages and showed me that my clear coat was very thin due to previous work. I left my car before work and it was finished right on time. Let me tell you my car looked BEAUTIFUL. I've been coming here for my detailing needs for close to a year now. I pay a lot of attention to the details in my paint and I have a black car, so any marring/swirls and imperfections are easy to spot. I've gotten several services done here including a basic car wash, some light polishing, sealant, and more recently, full paint correction before installing a glass/ceramic coating. I've also had them re-paint my back bumper and the door handles to my car. I'm not an easy customer to satisfy when it comes to detailing. That being said, Santos and his crew have done a fantastic job at everything. Santos is easy to talk to and he treats his customers with respect. I've researched and tried many shops, and the prices at Alan's Superior Details can't be beat for the quality of work that they do. Many detailing specialists charge much higher prices for similar work and many hand car washes charge similar prices for far inferior work (In fact, I cringe 99% of the time when I see the workers detailing at a generic hand car wash, because they really don't know what they're doing). I got the platinum detail, ceramic coating and window tinting at this place. Considering I've spent $1300 to get all of this done, I'd expect more. I had to have Sam (the assistant) remove the scratches and tree sap after picking up the car because they didn't do a good job. I'd assume they would do their diligence in inspecting the car and removing all of the scratches first before coating the car. I had to spend the extra money to buy the compound and polisher even when I originally told Santos and he said he'd remove them. They took a day and a half to work on it, and still had some issues. I will give them some credit though. They did do a good job in cleaning the interior but forgot to clean the inside of my trunk and cargo mat. Let's not forget the window tints, I wouldn't come back to this place for that. They didn't have a booklet to show me, so I went with his word since he had more of the experience. I got the car back and it was lighter than how I wanted it. I addressed my issues and was going to get a call back. Never did! I don't know if I'll be coming back. read more
