I was referred to Dr. Paini by a friend who was in the midst of her Invisalign treatment. After meeting him and getting a very reasonable quote for braces I started treatment and have been very pleased. Everyone in the office is very helpful and kind. Like a previous review, I feel like they care about me and what is going on in my life. I had to bring my son with me once and Dr. Paini was so welcoming of him and all his many questions and comments. I just had my wisdom teeth taken out here a couple of days ago, and Dr. Paini did an excellent job! He was simply extracting the top two, and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I was initially nervous, because I have been very lucky and never had to go to the dentist for anything except a cleaning in the past. I was given a topical anesthetic before they numbed me for the process, and I didn't feel a thing. I have been coming here for a few years now, and have never been disappointed-it is an incredibly well-run establishment. read more

The hygienist and dentist were really great and the only reason they are getting a star at all. Where the problems come in are with billing and insurance. I went about 6-7 months ago for a routine cleaning which was followed up with a very small filling. I received charges for my routine cleaning for items not covered by insurance. I noted to them that I asked to receive the cleaning my insurance covered, but was charged anyways for items not covered. I finally settled the amount months later. Jump to the present day. I was informed by their staff today that they no longer contract with any insurance companies, which I am guessing makes them "out-of-network" to most everyone. She said I could still come in. She said my insurance and plan was one of the more difficult ones to work with (MetLife which covers cleanings and routine visits twice a year at 100%). So if I still went to them, I would pay part of my deductible and a co-pay. Um, no thank you. I am not sure why they are making such drastic changes with their insurance policies for major carriers like MetLife, but definitely ask about your insurance coverage and the charges you will receive before you go. Very odd for a dentist to not contract with any dental insurance companies, but I am sure they have their reasons. It is a shame I will not be going there anymore because the hygienist and dentist were some of the best I have ever had! read more

I didn't go for the free whitening with my cleaning but I didn't get any. I was also given the news of a complicated bridge problem by a dental assistant who became agitated when I asked questions. I was charged $100 for putting some wax (?) in a tooth missing a filling so that I could go to another dentist to have a root canal because Dr. Paini doesn't do those- the wax was gone by the next day in spite of my having waited several hours longer than the 1/2 hour which I'd been directed to wait before eating. It would have been logical for Dr. Paini to have seen me after the cleaning and xrays, but I was scheduled to see him first because, I assume, that maximized their profit. Making profit should not interfere with providing health services. I felt cheated. Nice office but I want steak with my sizzle. I will not go back. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Paini for several years and have been very happy with this dental practice. His hygienist is the best we have ever experienced. We have unfortunately have no choice but to change dentists due to difficulty in scheduling appointments and the very unprofessional office manager Emily. Emily has a very high and mighty attitude, loves to interrupt, and has no idea how to provide good customer service. She is really quite RUDE. We are sorry to miss out on the good dental care but we haven't had our teeth cleaned in over a year because we can't get an appointment that fits our schedules and I just can't deal with having to talk to Emily one more time to be treated like crap by her. I bought my boyfriend a livingsocial deal for teeth whitening at this office. My boyfriend accidently let it expire (easy to do) but now we have been trying to use the 'paid value' which is clearly stated on the livingsocial certificate to be good through March 12, 2018. The office has refused to let us use it and told us that it may be livingsocial's policy but it's not theres. This is against the law and now I have contacted livingsocial who is taking over the claim. Shame on you for deciding to create your own policies even though my paid value of $125 is clearly stated on the certificate. Thanks to livingsocial, I will get my money back but I would not go to this office because of their lack of professionalism in this situation. read more

I love this place. It does not smell or look like a dentist's office. It looks like a very hip gallery that just happens to employ dental professionals. As a patient of over five years, these are my impressions: - My teeth actually feel clean when I get a cleaning. Don't get me wrong, I used to think they felt clean at my previous dentist's office but this hygienist, Olivia, is very good. - The dentist, Dr. Paini, is really honest with me about additional work. Rather than just selling me everything he explains options, and what my risks are for waiting vs. what should be done pronto. The work I have had done by Dr. Paini has held up and I have not needed to get anything replaced, which is more than I can say for some of my prior dentists' work. - They knew my insurance covered invisalign (and I didn't) so now my smile looks awesome. I probably haven't had a straight smile my whole life until now. - Very relaxed vibe. Angela is friendly when I walk in, Olivia lets me choose my own Pandora station or watch movies (I wonder how many times has she seen Anchorman?), and Dr. Paini is very laid back which makes me comfortable. I used to avoid the dentist, now I actually look forward to going. read more

I was a happy customer at this dentist office for nearly 4 years. I found the staff to be friendly, the office was very clean and the doctor seemed quite competent. After being a faithful customer for several years, I finally found the flaw which resulted in this one star review. This dentist office operates unethically and dishonestly. Their mode of operation might cost you hundreds like it cost me. After the office underwent a change in its insurance acceptance policy, I was told that I need not worry. The staff told me unanimously that they would work with my current insurance company and still bill my insurance just as it had always been billed. I was told time after time that I would not see any change in my coverage. To this point all of my teeth cleanings had been free and minor work like fillings would cost me very little. The first $150 bill I got after their insurance policy change was for my teeth cleaning. That should have been free. After another series of charges, my routine trip to the dentist costed me about $700. Incredibly frustrated, I tried hard to work with the dentist office and reminded them of the promises that they had made to me as I remained with my current insurance. I was offered an apology, I was told that they had a change in heart to work with my insurance, but they were not willing to work with my payment amount. After being a faithful customer for many years, I found out the hard way that this medical office is no different than any other money-hungry, greedy, dishonest medical office out there. Dr. Paini puts on a very good façade in acting like he cares about the patient, but the actions of his office are very telling that all he cares about is money. There are dozens of other dentists in the area, and I recommend you go to one of them instead. read more

CAREFUL with these guys. They literally looked at my insurance card, knew they didn't carry my insurance and proceeded with charging me regular prices without telling me. I had United Health Care. Sound like a recognizable household name? Yes, it is. And I bring that up because it's not like I had some crazy cut rate insurance. So after haggling (yes, haggling with a dentist) I finally had to pay a total cost of roughly $550 out of pocket for a regular check up and 2 cavities. I was supposed to receive a 30-60-90 day billing request and only received the 90 day billing request 3 weeks before I had to pay it. After dropping my insurance the month before I had an appointment, they told me it was too difficult to communicate that to patients and apparently it's too difficult to be a decent business and let your patients know that you'll go ahead and charge them full price and completely forego the whole conversation about insurance. I would give them negative stars if I could and will clearly never go back. Complete sham of a business. read more
