I couldn't be happier with Advanced Additions work on my house. First of all, Philly always shows up on time and is ready to go to work. Philly would give me a written estimate that was always a good fair price and he has always stayed within the estimate (every other contractor I have worked with always went over the estimate!!) Philly Gomez from Advanced Additions does a lot of work in my neighborhood on Mt. Soledad in Pacific Beach. He is probably best known for his work remodeling one particular iconic house in the area. All the neighbors know of this house because it is located on one of the main roads through the area and we've all watched how Philly transformed an old 60's style track house into a beautiful stylish contemporary home. What caught a lot of our eyes was the workmanship and attention to detail in this remodel. I still drive by this house and frequently see people taking pictures of it! Although my contractor needs were relatively small compared to many of Philly's jobs in the neighborhood he was open to taking on the work and at a very affordable price. The first part of the job was to replace a ~50-year-old rusting and deteriorating cast iron standpipe in my laundry room. The old pipe was replaced with PVC and a cleanout plug was added. Philly also installed a center-drain washing machine outlet box for the water valves and the washer output, moved some electrical outlets, and finished off the job by patching the drywall. The plumbing upgrades are great and I'm thrilled to now have a laundry room that is neat, clean, and tidy. The second part of the job was the removal of an old water tank and installation of a tankless condensing water heater. This job was somewhat involved because the new heater was installed in the interior of our house and involved venting through our roof, adjustments to the framing for the gas lines, and plumbing for the gas and tankless condensate output. Philly did an expert job and we are very happy with the new space created by removal of the old water tank and our significantly reduced gas bills. I can't say enough good things about Philly. He is the consummate professional. He is skilled and knowledgeable but does not hesitate to consult other experts if he has any questions. He is able to handle big whole house remodels and smaller jobs like my laundry room upgrade. His prices are great and he works hard. Don't be surprised if you notice Philly running between his work truck and your house! He says that it is the way he gets in a bit of a workout and wastes less time. Philly does NOT cut corners. We have had other experiences with contractors where the main goal was to get the job done in the least amount of time so as to maximize their profits.
