Stay away. I rented a scooter from this place, paying in advance for a 1 month rental. The first day I had brought it home, traveled about 100 feet, it turned off and I had to push it back into my garage. After calling Advance Medical, they advised me of a reset button. It did reset as they said. I tried to use it again two days later and it turned off again, and the reset would not work. My wife called and advised them we would be returning it the next day, since I had heart surgery I could not keep pushing this defective scooter every time it shut itself off. Upon returning it, they told me I had to pay for $50.00 (of the $199.00 monthly rental fee) for the time I had it (3 days for a defective machine that was barely used ) I should have refused to pay, but being a business owner myself I complied and paid. One month later a charge for $212.00 was deducted from my checking account. When I called, they told me it was almost closing time and they would check it out the next day, I argued with Shannon that I wanted it taken care of immediately. She blew me off and was very rude. She had no explanation for the charge to my account. She finally told me she would credit the money back to my account. Ten minutes later I called back and left a message on their answering machine that I would be in the next day for a receipt. When I got there the next day the owner accused me of dropping the scooter off my truck, trying to glue it,and causing damage to to the machine. I found this very deeming. If they thought I had damaged their machine why didn't they ever contact me. Shoddy business dealing. They try to scam disabled people with these extra charges. How dare they accuse me of damaging their scooter. They either made up a story about it being damaged or It was damaged by the customer before me, causing me to have issues with the machine turning off. I have always dealt with Tabeek Medical in Lincoln Park and have never had any such problems.Do not give them your credit card number , they will charge you for unauthorized charges, and then falsely accused you of causing damage to their equipment to try to justify their charges. Poor business people. Beware! read more
