Castle Hills is a part of our DNA. The superintendent is a man with more enthusiasm, dedication, compassion and commitment to student and family success than anyone I've ever known. Teachers are dedicated. The curriculum is challenging and the family-like environment fosters life-long friends and memories. I should know, I graduated from Castle Hills in 1992 and still have the same best friends from those days. If you want your child to know they are loved by Jesus and are more than just a face in the crowd, try The Christian School at Castle Hills.

Lisa has since retired, but still pops in and remembers our son fondly! Mr. Pinkston, the teachers and support staff are amazing!! We have never seen such kind, caring and knowledgeable professionals! Their attentive approach to students and passion for education has made such an impact! Fast forward 5 years, he continues to thrive in 8th grade with excellent grades and a great group of friends! When we were looking at schools, CHS offered SOARS support which really stood out to us and has been such an amazing tool for our son. I highly recommend an education with CHS, schedule a tour and shadow day, you will be thoroughly impressed

The faculty does nothing when something serious happens. My child has come home telling me that many children say the n word and many other offensive things but the staff does NOTHING. She would always come home depressed because she had barely any friends and the children would leave her out. I would never send any of my other children here. They have a long way to go. They a very small variety of classes and everyone does the same courses. I want to give them zero starts but that's not possible so l'll give them a 1. New! More ways to react to reviews.

Teachers that are…read moreclueless of their own content, mostly women trying to protect each other by lying and making things up. Admin that couldn't care less about the students and try to catch teachers. All the reviews that are positive are either current employees or previous (how sad). A headmaster that relies on words rather than evidence while always staying in her office. Teachers that target students as well as telling their AT's to do the same. Lots of racism. Teachers can't do anything but use AI but even then aren't checking what they're giving out. And if you're a guy you won't last at all. Just watched two leave and one left before Christmas last year. They're all jumping ship. Students just placed into hallways and missing out on learning. BY FAR THE DIRTIEST, SMELLIEST, and most DISGUSTING classrooms. Mold everywhere because the humidity was 70% or higher all year long. No wonder so many people got sick. Incompetent maintenance worker who thinks vacuuming the mold from one spot is enough (it's all in the vents). The excuses just keep coming for us parents all the time instead of them even acknowledging that. My kid was non stop targeted by racist classmates and three teachers who did nothing. Looking into making a case to open a TEA investigation but the only one who had all the screenshots, recordings of teachers, and all that apparently left so if you're reading this please get in touch and we can save the future of these kids. Other parents seem to buy the admin since they shared the list of donations (accident maybe?) but somehow their kid is failing multiple subjects but get passed to the next grade. How can a worker not be appalled at everything? And the smell, it's terrible and everywhere. You can see how the classroom floors are littered with food stomped onto the carpets, gum, spill after spill. I will say again. This school needs to be investigated asap. Also, not sure how they can call themselves classical education. They aren't. Just because they have Latin doesn't mean it's classical. Where are my kids notes Cornell style? Why don't they know anything about Ancient Greece and Rome? Are they still using Singapore math? And the 10 year old version? Yes. Also, teachers will never allow a student to get ahead. They will keep every student at the same pace, inhibiting the higher learners and keeping them from being their unique selves. I guess you could say it's a type of brainwashing. Please, to the gentleman that knew pretty much everything, please get in touch.

Hear No Evil*See No Evil*Speak No Evil Hood said he planned on being there a long time, but he's apparently gone already, as so many before him. Could've seen that coming from a million miles away. By the way, Cornerstone had my first review taken down, as I now suspect many other critical reviews have been. Cornerstone has had some amazing people, Mr Harrison, Mr Puente, Mrs Puente (God rest her soul), Mr Hudspeth, Mr Sessions, Coach Navarrete, Mrs Ruvalcaba, and others, but the administration changes constantly! The big secret is, untouchable families, who do whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want; many are athletes and staff from the church and school. Shouldn't be that way, but we experienced it over & over. So, we left. Many others have left for the same reasons. A friend living near the school took their kids out because the administration wouldn't deal with the untouchables harassing their child who's on the spectrum. They told us 3 other families -on-their-street- left also. Cornerstone should be training up a righteous generation, but instead they're just coddling untouchables. Sad... Change must come from the top. We can only hope & pray.

We are so incredibly lucky in San Antonio to have the Winston school…read more My son is off the charts intelligent but had a difficulty in learning. He went to the summer school in 2019 and frankly learned more that summer than he did in the entire year before. He feels accepted, and acknowledged, and the administrators, teachers and staff do an incredible job promoting children that learn differently. This was a life changer. I went from a child that cried to go to school, to a child that adores his school, and can't wait to go. In the words of my son, "mommy, Winston isn't is my school,it's my family" So grateful!

After an incident from today with Mr. Yocham discharging one of the best teachers they have and in…read morethe manner he did so in front of all the middle school students, I've had enough. This school was not equipped for online learning nor did the teachers care to make the changes to pay any attention to those students learning online. If I could give no stars I sure would. From the beginning this school has been an issue. From the fact that they test your student at the beginning of the school year after being out for summer and expecting them to be where they were the previous year. Just so they can then separate your student from their grade level and mix them with lower class students. That I find demoralizing to the student and telling them YES you are dumb. When in fact all it is is that "you learn different". Any other school can do a way better job then this school. This is just an over priced school for your child to not grow. No wonder they feel dumb because the school is sticking them with the lower grade level and it's seen. They have no academic plan for your students growth because "every student is different" in other words they will not make that personal plan to help your child grow. If your child is excelling out of the class they're in the school will not say anything. My daughter was so bored in her classes and not challenged enough. I spoke up to the school and they moved her to a higher level class and what would you know she continued to excel in her studies. Your child has a better chance at a public school and getting better help than here at Winston. Your child will not grow at a progressive rate as you will expect to happen. The athletics department is a joke as well so I hope your child is not an athlete. All 3 years that my daughter had to attend here not once did the Volleyball team nor basketball team win a game. The AD Mr. Borth just goes through the motions of what's needed but is also a very rude person. His wife Mrs. Borth told my child along with a group of other girls to get it together because they were upset and she had a tour to give in a few minutes. Yes this happed today 05/19/2022 so again this is not the school you want your child to go too. It's not worth the college tuition they charge along with everything thing else they will charge you. Find you a school that will benefit your child's educational growth. If you can tough it out IDEA is a real good structural school. Even specific private schools around the area. Do your research and don't fall for all the smiles. Ask questions, know who's certified to teach because as you know private school teachers don't have to be certified.

They publish a catalog that they'll mail out to you if you ask, or you can stay updated on their website. The course descriptions seem to be accurate, and the class fees include the materials like textbooks. My kids did not receive the accommodations specified in their 504 regularly, and I didn't receive timely 504 updates. My gifted kids were in GT in SAISD and in Northside ISD, but NEISD decided they could not be in the program because of one test administered on 1 day at the school headquarters. Another failure of NEISD is their lack of care for the less fortunate students and families. There is no affordable after school care or summer programs available. The schools on the wealthier neighborhoods (Stone Oak, etc) have nice new facilities and athletic fields, and the schools that are in less desirable neighborhoods have run down buildings and athletic fields. It's no wonder so many charter schools are becoming popular. It's really disgusting and the district should be ashamed to call themselves public education. It's all about money and politics, apparently.
