My go-to stop for car care! I found this shop in Sumter through the Carmax RepairPal service. They…read moreare knowledgeable and responsive. I scheduled my appointment for warranty service and brought my car in. I was updated regularly along the way -- informed of progress, delays, and any changes. One of the car parts was on back order and they got me in for installation the day it arrived. They offer a military discount. I also came one day with a really low -- almost flat tire -- and they got my car in to check it out immediately, while I waited. The employees are all friendly and I would recommend this business!

BEWARE of the bait and switch practice and defensive disposition at this SCAM shop. Our 2017 GLE350…read moreMercedes was brought to Car Care & Repair, LLC, for a solid yellow check engine light (minor issue) and shaking rear wheel. Cece(?), the front desk receptionist, quoted $126 for a diagnosis, and after that was done, another $126 for a more in-depth diagnosis, which is literally unheard of. Car Care & Repair LLC used the FIRST $126 to rack up a potential profit of $1,1817.30, minus $713 for two rear Continental tires. The remaining EXPLORATORY let-us-find-other-unrelated-BS-concerns-to-sell-you included the following replacements: cabin air filter ($133.56), engine air filter element ($215.47), Engine Coolant Expansion tank ($54.86), "BFLUSH" or break fluid flush ($120.43), Oil and filter change, synthetic ($134.53), and "align EURO" ($159.95). None of this had any relation to the check engine light, which O'Reilly diagnosed for free with the code for emission leak, generally related to a loose gas cap. So, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges the SECOND $126 fee to diagnose the original problem, and claims the cost involved tools and equipment to locate the problem, which everyone knows is the cost of doing business. The owner said charges include his having to do an Internet search because the vehicle is a newer model. Again, COST of doing business. Why should a customer take the HIT of his lack of knowledge? Taking Scam Artistry to another level, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges ALL CUSTOMERS A FEE FOR HAZMAT REMOVAL, regardless if they dispose of anything related to your vehicle or service. We were scammed $25.35. Now, ERIC, who identified himself as the owner was contacted for an explanation, not only was he initially rude, defensive, and obnoxious but failed to understand the concern with the fact that Car Care & Repair, LLC, FAILED TO GIVE NOTICE OF THE TWO DIAGNOSIS FOR THE ONE ISSUE. WHAT CAR CARE & REPAIR, LLC DID NOT KNOW: The vehicle is up-to-date on its scheduled maintenance service (A & B) by Mercedes and was recently serviced this year, a few months. The Servicer confirmed that an oil change and all items (SCAMS) are not necessary and to bring the vehicle in when in town to have the check engine light CLEARED. As for the tire replacements, Car Care & Repair, LLC, will not be doing that or any other jobs for our three vehicles. We'd rather drive the distance to an honest CERTIFIED Mercedes center or the dealership, being that none exist in Sumter. BEWARE of Car Care & Repair, LLC! Don't say you weren't warned. Unless you want to pay $280 to be told that the job will cost $266. NO thanks. Further SCAMMING DENIED! Car Care & Repair, LLC CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.

Is there some racism going on with these people? I went there to request a simple service check for…read morea car under warranty. I explained that the message was coming up that it was time for a service check. The car was under warranty and they were in the network of the warranty company. The man acted like I was speaking Greek. He kept trying to confuse me saying crazy things like, "We don't do one-hour diagnostics, it takes 3 hours." And, "Exactly what type of test does the company want us to do?" It's just a typical service call for a car under warranty and you have yet to hear of it? It was unbelievable! I called around until I found someone else. It's not worth the trouble dealing with them.

****UPDATE DO NOT GO HERE, I ALMOST LOST A WHEEL, ENGINE, AND POSSIBLY MY LIFE. I had my tires…read morereplaced when they did this oil change, and today noticed rattling on my drivers side wheel and my ABS, 4WD, Brake and traction control lights turned on. I checked my tire and two of the lugnuts were backing out on my tire! I was about to leave on a 400 mile trip, I would have certainly lost a wheel and possibly my life in an accident!!**** TL;DR, poor work, taking advantage of military and family, go somewhere else Had an oil change done here, a few days later the check engine light came on and the car was idling very roughly. OBDII came up with a camshaft code. Called another shop, they recommended I check my oil dipstick. Checked it and it was bone dry. The oil warning light had not even come on. Checked under my vehicle after putting more oil in and sure enough it was leaking oil at an alarming rate. Brought it to a different shop and they discovered the mechanic at Firestone had not removed the gasket from the old oil filter when they replaced it, which caused it to leak oil. They were shocked that a qualified mechanic had made that mistake. They told me it happens when you do not lubricate the gasket when you install an oil filter, which I'm assuming since this is the same shop that performed the last oil change, they did not do. Firestone does offer a warranty to fix an improper installation, but I don't trust a shop when they don't do it right the first time and could have cost me my engine. Be warned, they're VERY predatory in their sales and will take advantage of people who know little about cars. They said my battery was about to die, I go home and check it, it's perfectly fine, 6 months later I go back for something else and they tell me it's still bad when I've had no battery issues. Had an alignment done here six months earlier, when I called to schedule an appointment they asked if I wanted another alignment, I said no I had one six months ago to fix an issue with the steering, they offered to check it for free since they advised getting it done once a year. Went to drop off my vehicle, another employee asked again if I wanted an alignment, I said no, I had one done six months ago. He tells me that the DOT recommends getting TWO TO THREE ALIGNMENTS A YEAR, which they absolutely do not, and after I said no again he looked at my vehicles history and goes "Oh, you got it done HERE, so you're good for another six months." One of the most blatant predatory things I've ever seen.
