Warning !!! First of all, they take your door panels off without telling you upfront when tinting your windows. They did this to my Jaguar xk and broke both door panels and my tweeter housing which is part of the door .The car was in his possession for over 6 days. Upon pick up he tells me he used 2 tubes of silicone to glue my doors back together and he broke my tweeter cover. I called to rectify the situation and the owner James responds with a nasty childlike attitude.Then he asks me why I'm calling him so early and tells me he will call me back. It's been over a week now and now and when I call he's never there. They are great at taking your money but refuse to replace something if and when they break it . I just wanted my vehicle back in the condition it was to begin with. What is so hard about that? I would NOT recommend taking any luxury car here for a tint job bc apparently when they break something they will refuse to fix it. They will then blame the car and complain how difficult it was to work on. How about this,dont take a job on if you dont have the knowledge or expertise of doing it properly! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable of every product and Jeeps in general. They took the time to get to know me by asking questions regarding the types of features/capabilities I wanted in a stereo system and at a reasonable price. I waited and waited, then they came back and said they couldn't install it, and tried to sell me their own supply. Had my car tint done by this establishment. It came out great! I will do a follow up review as time goes on to attest to the quality of the tint. I'm not overly concerned because the tint came with a "lifetime warranty". I recommend dropping your car off instead of waiting for it to finish unless you really want to be bored sitting in the waiting room for a few hours. The price was more expensive than you'll pay at some other places but I was happy with the quality and I opted for the higher grade material. read more

Wife got her windows tinted here. They did a super crappy job, rushing it since it was Friday afternoon. Then the guy tries to explain that the crappy job will 'set in' and will look better in a few days. If course, I was going out of town for four months come that Monday so I wasnt around to go handle this. We wont even go back, we will just take it to a REAL place that does stuff right the first time. Anyone know of any such business in Sumter? Just recently got my windows tinted. It was a bit pricy, but they did an amazing job. There was a tiny bubble on one window and they fixed it immediately, with no problems. The staff was very friendly and the overall quality is very good. They also give a lifetime warranty if anything ever happens to the tinting. read more

The hired staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. However the owner James is an ultimate ass. I made my appointment on Saturday in person and was told and could see on the appointment book ( yes they still use a book, not in the computer age with that yet) that there was only one other person. I was told to bring my car in at 9 and it would be ready at lunch. Since I work l had to make arrangements for someone to be able to drop me off. I went to lunch with some co-workers and passed by the place and my car was still in the same spot I dropped it off at, it was not 1:15. My daughter passed by and called me because she saw my car and thought I was there and I told her what was going on. Then I called my husband and asked him to call and check on it since it was after 2 and my car still hadn't been moved yet. He wAs then told it would be ready by five. This bothered me since I was originally told it would be ready by lunch and I'm the one who had to contact them to find out when it would be ready. So now I had to find a ride at 5. My husband left work early from Columbia to get me and we got there at 5:15. I asked the girl upfront what had happened to my car being ready at lunch and me being the one to contact them to find out when and if it was going to be ready. The owner James jumped in the conversation and was short and nasty with me. I tried to explain to him that I had to adjust me day several times and that I felt I deserved an explanation at the very least. He then proceeded to tell me that there are only two window tinters in Sumter ( I told them there was more) he said there was only two good ones. And that he was busy Nd then when on to say imagine how if there was only two women in Sumter and I was one of the two etc. this appalled me. I started to say something and he cut me off and started walking away. I then loudly let him know that I would never recommend anyone to come here and that I already had two other people lined up to make their appointments until this happened. He then took me into his wife's office where he told me that my car was ready before 5 but they didn't have time to call me. (After all was said and done at 5.45 my car was still not done, they were doing my front windshield where they gave me and additional strip that I had not asked for on accident and they haven't even done the sunroof that I had asked for.) James also proceeded to tell me that it's like a vets office they have everyone come in at the same time and then work through the cars as the tinter sees fit. I told him I don't know what vet he uses but I don't take my furbaby to one like that. He then threw his cashier and window tinters under the bus. He tried to blame her for telling me it would be ready around lunch and then he said he has two window tinters and only one is a really good one! Who the hell is working on my carrot better be the g Really good one with the price I'm paying. I told him that I knew he was pricier than others but I was told they did a great job plus I knew who his wife was. So I was willing to spend more for quality. But that I did not appreciate his unprofessionalism and all the lies I kept catching him in and calling him out on them and the fact that he was throwing the blame on his employees and it was clearly not their fault as he told me his business practices and how his employees were seasonal and useless. I let the two employees know in front of him how he had tried to throw them under the bus. I also explained to him how well his cashier was and how she sold me on some things and how she sold my husband on talking to his boss about his company vehicle (who approved him to do so and wanted to see it before sending the other local company vehicles to him) ALOT of business lost because of this owners attitude. He then tried to tell me he has had a bad day etc and I told him I didn't care that he was having a bad day, that I was a paying customer and that I understood that mistakes happen but that I wanted them to be aware that I was not happy that I was told a time that my vehicle would be ready and it wasn't a d not by a few minutes or half hour or and hour but by 4.5 hours!!!! I wanted him to do better by the next customer when they asked when they leave their car with them and that was all but his attitude turned it into something nasty. He then proceeded to tell me that they stand by their work and are flawless and how he lays $1200 for 1 roll of tint etc. I told him again that I didn't mind paying more for quality work that would be a lifetime warranty and that because I knew his wife (co-owner) was the reason I chose them. But I would follow up because of the warranty but I would not bring another vehicle to him and that I see Bill at Car Audio and send everyone there for stereo needs. At this time it was after 6 and everyone else was gone. When I went to my car I started to get in it and noticed scratches and bubbles in several areas. read more

I had the windows on my corvette done here and was not impressed. They did a sub-par job and stuck their logos under the tint which bubbled and look like crap. They also left half the back window untinted and claimed that it was normal due to there being dots in the glass. Bottom line they are unfriendly and do bad work. Just like Steve R. Myself and my Son in-law went to CSP to get our brand new cars tinted. They did a terrible job! As defined by another shop which is in their Warranty group: "It was a bad install, to much lint and air pockets". I went back once to let them correct it and still a bad install. My Son in law who is stationed at Shaw wouldn't even take it back as he felt they weren't capable of doing a good job. Well they don't give refunds and they stand by that as it is written on their receipt. This is a company that doesn't stand by their work. had my XM satellite radio installed there. they did a terrible job, & put the antenna on the inside front dash to save themselves some work. the radio manufacturers advise exterior installation. As a result, the reception is very spotty and crappy. When I asked about it the manager mentioned the fact that "it is hard to install the antenna and that it would cost extra to do it" right. First thing I would like to point out is im no car security guru but these are just my opoinions from my experiences. Everytime i go in there they ALWAYS bash my ideas and say how their products are far more superior. The whole area of sumter is new to me, that being said I did not know their hours of operation. Today I called to inquire about a two way alarm system and said that i wold not be there till 1:30pm, they then tell me to hold on. So I do, only to find out that this is a lengthy procedure and they close at 4pm on Saturdays. Instead of making an appointment at a later time they begin to laugh. I am a working man myself, so i know that you want to get out of there on time we all have lives outside of work, but your customer service needs some beefing up. All i can say is to whomever is reading this post, if your looking for great prices, top notch quality work and GREAT customer service go to a place called SOUND FX. They have a larger facility with a bigger selection. I will never go to car stero plus for anything. Take my review for what its worth but i'd HIGHLY recommend you'd do the same. read more
