After purchasing a "new to me" vehicle .... Warning Lights popped up all over the dash .... Like 3 of them... I was dismayed. A mechanic in Sarasota told me that you can get these codes figured out for free by AutoZone. YES..., for FREE ! And ,., 1 of the 3 warning lights on my dash was a faulty seal on the gas cap ... such a strange thing ... purchased a $10.00 gas cap that they had in stock at the store and then I was good to go. I tried to tip the guy who installed it for me but he wouldn't take any money. Thank You AutoZone

The customer service man John understood, but the Manager basically got his money and said there was nothing he could do. Keep in mind, John checked for crank and alternator issues and everything came out fine. Don't expect too much from this store...there are other Autozones to go to.

They try and upsell you on many add ons that you don't need for your car (fuel injections, tires that have just been replaced, etc) regardless of the car's age/value, and they frequently do an upsell of about 180 dollars to go deeper than the "free inspection". This add on inspection is very thorough though, and they take videos of different parts of your car, with detailed descriptions of each that you can access for 30 days. Just for full transparency on my car's problem, I had a check engine light go on after a 15 hour drive, and after 1,200 dollars of work, the issue still persisted. They ended up giving me back my car, and quoted me another 5 grand for a very labor intensive part (head gasket), and were very pushy both times with getting me to sign and order the parts right away. I ended up getting a new car since the repairs were worth more than the vehicle, and they didn't offer towing services to the new location. They also took the windshield wipers off of my car before I picked it up to trade in, so I had no wipers?? Overall I think the car was more the issue than Jim Taylor, but I wish I knew all of this info before I came here!

Yes, they carried what I needed, had it in stock and absolutely do the installation for an extremely fair price! Saving me almost $100 of a dealer quoted price which was basically labor. The tech was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. The heat outside was oppressive, I felt for him, as the temp outside was 95* and they bring a cart out to the parking lot and change out the batteries. I imagine not having an indoor bay probably keeps the overhead down and passes a great savings on to the consumer. The staff of three were all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It was suggested I get a new battery for the key fob too....good idea. I'm confident my upcoming 8 hr trip will be safer. I always do surveys but this place deserved a review.
