I had a 2009 ML63 was being held hostage at Contemporary Motor Cars Inc. at 100 Oceanport Ave, Little Silver, NJ since April 2019. This dealership has since been caught making misleading and deceptive statements in order to have me pay them extra money. All done in an attempt to force me to pay over $12,000 for parts as well as a replacement transmission they stated in writing was needed. In short, I went to have a transmission control module re programmed for $330 and was overcharged with an email explaining a $3600 bill that was never agreed on. Dealership "So far we have booked a total of Parts and labor $3615.80 on this repair, because of the way we worked on the vehicle". Then being told I needed to pay more money for a new valve body and then another $7,000+ for a new transmission. Unbelievable situation for company such as Mercedes Benz to put a customer through. I spoke with Joe from Benwood Auto and ordered a 722.9 valve body as instructed by mechanic because I refused to pay $1500 from mercedes for a new part I knew was not needed. Joe sends it out to me and it arrives a few days later. Contemporary Motor Car's mechanic Dale, tells me it is incorrect. This is after I had taken screen shots in front of this mechanic to confirm it was the right valve body. I am just told it is too bad and I need to reorder the right part. I call Joe and give him new details about what is being requested. They find the next valve body and send it out immediately. Here was the shocker........ Joe did not want to charge me for the second valve body and told me he understood what I was going through with this situation. I was just asked to send back what ever valve body they did not use. The dealership kept my ML63 for several weeks and in the end, I had to pay them for work that they lied about performing. They ended up giving me back a car that was not operational. It drove perfectly before giving it to the dealership. When I got it back, I was told it needed a new transmission. I took it to get inspected by another transmission specialist, to find that the dealership had lied and the original valve body was in perfect working order, as was everything else Contemporary Motor Cars had stated in writing needed replacing. Total fraud!!!!!! So I was left with 2 valve bodies that have not been installed and are still in the boxes they arrived in. I was so grateful for Benwood Auto Parts help, that I sent both valve bodies back. They insisted on giving me a refund but I explained that for the amount of time and effort they gave me, I would not accept any refund. These guys paid for shipping on both valve bodies to be sent to me and then they paid for both to be returned. I have never seen customer service at this level and if you are looking to buy parts for your vehicle, I cannot recommend this company any higher.     I have used this place several times to 'give it a chance' and each and every time my car is still…read morewet when I pull out and I wind up having to get out of the car to dry it off. Today however has nothing to do with that. I paid for the car wash and pulled when the light said to.. then the light said to back up. I would back up and then it would say to pull forward. So i would pull forward. This happened about 7 times..back and forth back and forth and then I just left. As someone who has used the business more than once i could tell the wash was malfunctioning. I called the number on the door to report a problem (there was no live person in the office) and a Robert answered the phone. He was belligerent from the get go. Sounded very annoyed when he answered the phone and from there it just got worse. I wish I had recorded the call but since no one just randomly records their calls, I have no proof to back up what I am saying. I was in a mess because I had just paid for a car wash that was not working and Robert instead of being kind and understanding, was fighting with me! I wasn't sure if I should go pay for another wash in a different bin or what. Had Robert been kind and understanding I would have done just that. But I left very discouraged.

    There is a huge sign as you walk in that says "Free Battery Inspection" . Ok great! So I went to…read morecheck in and they tell me it will be $15???Hmmmm??? Anyways, having said that that ...it was best $15/17 that I have ever spent!!! Long story short....I came initially to see if my battery was running low which was causing the power steering in my Subaru (electric powered steering). The battery was fine but the mechanic notice that one of the cables in the power steering was loose. He plugged it back in --NO Problem SINCE!!! Now, I have already made an appointment with Fox Subaru to get it fixed...(estimated cost $1300) . The $15 saved me over a grand!!!! They could have lied and not do anything but did not. These guys at Pep Boys showed some integrity and real class. They have earned my trust and I will be their customer for life. Thank you guys for your great service and honesty.

One man took phone calls and did paperwork while the other sat in his chair staring at the desk while on hold with a dealership. The first man asked what I needed and then told me to speak to the man in the phone. He was angry that he had to deal with the customers while his co-worker stayed on the phone. That man them proceeded to check in the man behind me first (I am a woman). When I finally got checked in, I was told they didn't know when they would get to me because I checked in online and "corporate shouldn't allow people to check in online when they didn't know how busy the shop" was. Finally, they told me the job was done and checked me out. I got two blocks away in the rain and realized they hadn't touched my car! I drove back and discovered that they had serviced the wrong car!!!! What a mess.
