My car was giving me major issues so since I was in the area I decided to take my vehicle to this Advance Auto Parts location. I pulled into the parking lot which was not full at all. I pulled into a parking space right in front of the building. Initially when I walked in, someone was walking out, the customer service rep was on the phone assisting a customer over the phone. I waited patiently until the call was complete. As soon as the gentleman hung up the phone, Mike introduced himself and asked enthusiastically how could he be of service. I asked him if it was possible for him to check my battery. Mike said, "Sure!" as he grabbed his supplies. As he walked from behind the counter her hollered to his coworker to inform him he was going outside. As we were walking outside, we chatted about a high number of battery test he had done for the day. Once we got outside, I unlocked my car doors, popped the hood of my car, and went to help Mike to open it up. Once open, Mike attached the battery tester as he continued to carry on polite conversation. Mike informed me that I had a dead cell in my battery and would need to be replaced. I was certain I had recently purchased a new one, Mike informed me that this location is unable to connect to other databases to pull up past purchases, you know when they ask you for your phone (which I thought was kind of the point). I decided to look for a previous receipt before returning back in the store. Mike encouraged the search and told me to come in once I found the receipt. After an unsuccessful search, I returned into the store. This time it was Mike along with two additional employees, a younger guys that seemed to had just started and an older bigger gentleman. The younger employee was at the computer and spoke as I approached, Mike gave a welcome back, and the third gentleman looked at me and then turned his head without one hello or welcome. I proceeded to provide my information to the younger employee, whose name I was unable to retrieve (so sorry about that), who was being guided by Mike. Both of them pulled up the battery options for my car, turned the computer screen so I could see my selections, and asked me which one do I choose. I asked a few questions about the difference in the options. Mike was very knowledgeable. During this transaction, two additional employees walked into the store. One of the gentleman came in and immediately went behind the counter as I believe he was coming in from a break. The other employee who acknowledged his coworkers and went to the back was coming in for the start of his shift. I chose a battery and the gentleman coming in from lunch and the younger gentleman gathered their supplies and proceeded to guide us outside. Both gentlemen worked to switch my battery. They did have to do an exchange because the first one was the wrong size. The installation of the new battery took about 15 minutes or so. They told me I was all done and I went on my way! It easy as pie and I did keep my receipt this time since the Advance Auto system is not on one accord with all stores. read more
