Tried to return a battery that went bad in 4 months, they couldn't find me in the system because their inept employee didn't enter in my personal information correctly. They initially offered me a gift card because they couldn't find proof of purchase which I declined initially. The manager, Ray, was put on the phone on my next day return with my proof of purchase and he said to come back in the next day to speak to him in person for a refund. I returned for the third day in a row for Ray to just offer me a gift card and say it would be a lot of trouble for him to get me a cash refund. Awful customer service. read more

I stopped in to get wiper blades tonight and was expecting to have the same experience I've had at other AAP locations in the past. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Ray greeted me as soon as I walked through the door, took time to help me find the type of blade I was looking for, we had a great conversation and he replaced them for me very, very fast. I paid less for the wiper blades at Advanced for a better brand and blade than at Walmart where I would have had to replace them myself! Plus, Ray was able to tell me about a great warranty that will cost me next to nothing to replace my wipers next year! Overall exceptional experience!! read more

My husband had a bad experience at the Athol, MA store. He looked up a loaded hub online (not sure if hub is the right word) to replace a wheel bearing. He went to the store to buy it after verifying that it was in stock. The man behind the counter decided to "school" my husband regarding the need for a "press" to replace a wheel bearing. To the point that my husband was insulted and ultimately left the store and bought the part elsewhere. Even I know if you pay more for a loaded hub/spindle (still not sure if that's right, my husband is not here right now) that the wheel bearing is already "pressed in", therefore loaded. My husband is 52 years old. He started changing oil and pumping gas at his grandfathers service station when he was 10. His father is a retired mechanic for a nearby town and has always been a mentor to my husband. My husband has done mechanic work his whole life. His current employment is head mechanic for a contractor fleet. He has had this job for over 15 years. So in closing, the employees there should know what they are talking about before they decide to "drop some knowledge" on customers. We have 6 registered vehicles including a hot rod my husband built frame up. He will no longer bring our business there, it's not the first time he has been frustrated this way there. read more

I went to this store twice. Had the same sales man. Very rude. He changed the wiper blade but its still not right. So he tells me to go to my dealer ship get a wiper blade bring him the receipt and he will reimburse me the cost. No attempt to change the blade style. Turns out he's the manager. read more
