I have a 2015 Nissan versa with 58k miles on it, bought it practically new 3 years ago. I've gone to Becks several times and the only time I drove off the lot without more problems was when I got an oil change. Most recently I went in for a noisy muffler, while replacing it they "noticed" a transmission coolant line leak which had not been there before, and weirdly offered to fix it while they were under there. I noticed later they did not charge me for this. The next day the transmission coolant line blew on the highway and it was a very dangerous situation. I got it towed to another nearby garage and the mechanic showed me the part Becks had put in, which was the incorrect part, shoved in and kinked where it clearly didn't fit, causing pressure build up, and the eventual explosion. My car was covered in oil so we disconnected the battery to avoid firs risk. Got it towed again to Becks so they could fix it was the ACTUAL Nissan part, powerwash the car, reconnect the battery and then assess whether or not their mistake had caused any damage to my actual transmission. They did all this and reported that were was not damage to the transmission. When I picked it up, it drove but the clock and radio didn't work, the fuse blew needed to be reset after the battery was disconnected. I ended up just fixing this myself. Becks also said they "topped off" my transmission fluid. I have a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) which is pretty finicky and requires specific fluid, filled to a very specific amount (overfill causes damage), and very specific parts. Becks website says they specialize in all makes and models and have access to dealer parts, so I always brought my Nissan here because they were closer. Today, about 10k miles later, my car wont start because the transmission has failed and there is transmission and radiator fluid all over my driveway. 58k miles. bought it with 999 miles on it, still had the new car smell. I've had this car for 3 years and have only ever taken it to Becks for servicing, I've never had transmission problems before they started messing with it. Now I have no car. read more

My '06 Mazda Tribute is nearing the end of its useful life and needs more work than a newer car. I have taken the car to Beck's a half dozen times, and each time I feel like I've been to my friend's garage. Hourly labor rate is one third less than most garages. They won't do work they don't find necessary. No pressure, as they discuss all work and charges up-front, and tell you what will happen if the repair is delayed or not fixed. Prices for parts are reasonable. They talk to you like a human being, and when I leave I don't feel like I've been taken for a ride. Highly recommended. read more

Had my car towed there today. I called first and told them it was coming first thing in the morning. Tow company dropped my car off, put the keys in the ignition and left. Staff at Beck's saw my car being dropped off. However, When I called over six hours later, my car was never even looked at. (It needed a new hanger for the muffler) I was told by the woman who answered the phone that the tow truck driver never handed her the keys so she didn't know if the keys were in the car or not. I suggested she go look in the car and she refused. Instead I was told to call AAA and the tow company to track down the driver of the tow truck and ask him if he left them in the car or not. Seriously?! No one could get off their a$$ to go look in the car that was 5' from them and go look?! So, I started calling around, waiting on hold, trying to find out if the keys were in the car or not. Beck's had refused to fix my car simply because they did not have the keys in their hand and they had been left in the car. Stupid you say? Ridiculous even? I agree. And I told them so. However, the woman at Beck's believes she is justified in saying that it's the job of the tow truck driver...yada yada yada.... If it had not been for the fact that I needed to drive to Boston and I needed my car ASAP, and I know that Becks always has availability (wonder why), I would have taken it elsewhere. Another time I had taken my car to Becks, my heater blower was going and I told them I wanted it replaced. I left it there first thing in the morning and picked it up at closing. I was told that it was all fixed and would have no more issues. After paying close to $100 I asked what the charge was for and what did they fix. Well, I was I told that they "cleaned out my glove box". When I inquired where all my things were, I was told that it was thrown away. They actually took everything out of my glove box and tossed it all without my permission or calling me and telling me what they were doing. AND they charged me for it!!!!! After paying the bill, I drove off the lot and turned on the heat and guess what happened? The heater broke!!! They never even fixed the problem!!! So, I paid them to throw away items that I wanted when they didn't have permission to and they never fixed the problem that I originally went there for. ***side note*** I took my car to another shop (Toyota Dealer in Greenfield) to get the heater fixed and they replaced the motor because it was indeed broken like I had said. Becks insisted my heater wasn't working properly because I had things in my glove box, which is why they took everything out and threw it away. read more

Strongly recommend. I was going to bring a used car I was planning to buy to be looked over here, after the shop was recommended by a friend. They estimated a prepurchase inspection for about half the cost of the normal 100-200$. I ended up purchasing a car directly from Beck's for a great price and Scott taught me how to drive stick. They made sure everything on the car would last and fixed the parts that were starting to go. Everyone at the shop is honest, helpful, and friendly. Staff never seems rushed, they will take the time to answer all of your questions and discuss the work/charges/time-frame upfront. I run into them around town and they always remember me. Every friend I have sent to Beck's refuses to take their car anywhere else. And it is convenient being right next to the RMV. read more

This is the best mechanic I've ever been to. Best prices around, quality work, excellent service (gave me rides home and picked me up when my car was done), and very honest. After being screwed over by many local mechanics I started going here by recommendation and have never been disappointed. The staff is excellent, always very nice and remember me.
