I'm not sure of the name of the individual I'm referring to but I recall he had worm like locks and unstraight teeth. I came in to replace or be refunded for a sensor Ive purchased. I originally bought it from a sister location however this store was closer and I was informed that as long as I had my receipt and the part I could get it exchanged at the N Main St location. I arrived and presented the part to the man I described working the counter and he informed me that "his policy" didn't allow the return of electrical items. A Scam! I bought it battery here and it died during the warranty period. The paperwork was clear on FREE replacement. They refused to honor this and wanted to charge me for a new battery. I went to the Advance Auto in Roswell and the honored the warranty with no questions asked. They also said they have had a lot of complaints about the Marietta location and their lack of integrity. I walked in and the man behind the counter was so friendly and helped me right away. He changed them out for me in 2 minutes and I was so appreciative of him. The employees of this location don't know what they're talking about. I asked them multiple times the process for a battery install all of them to lie to me and tell me one thing when it was actually another. I was unable to get my car for two days because they don't know how to do their job properly. Store manager was on vacation and unable to be contacted. Completely useless! read more

One of the strangest visits to an auto parts store in a while. Came to buy a new battery but the employee tested mine and found nothing wrong. But then he called in a "Mobil (sic) mechanic" for a second opinion who then offered to do the necessary repairs for me. I've heard of in-store repair shops but not calling in a guy who is sitting in his parked car to fix it in the parking lot. Definitely puts unnecessary pressure at an unexpected time. Still, both gentlemen were very friendly and helpful and neither were pushy thankfully. Probably will go back if I'm in the area...I think. read more

On 7 May 2020, my father went to the Advance Auto Parts located at 731 North Main Street, Alpharetta, Georgia where he is a frequent customer. On this particular occasion, he went into the store in need of a new battery for his vehicle. After a curt exchange with the sales associate, the same associate muttered under his breath something along the lines of, "If you want to live here, you need to learn English." My father, who speaks three different languages was angered and appalled by what the associate said to him. He confronted the associate and asked him why he said what he said. The associate not realizing that my father could either understand and or hear what he said got flustered, apologizing for what he said. At that point my father asked to speak with the manager of the store. To my father, it appeared that there must have been an exchange with the sales associate and the manager, because when they both appeared, the associate backtracked what he said claiming never to have said the derogatory remark. To make matters worse, when my father asked the sales associate for his name, he refused to share that information. Without purchasing the battery he needed for his vehicle, my father then left the store and contacted HQ to report the situation he encountered. Upon hearing what happened, especially given our current climate, I contacted the Advance Auto Parts store to speak with either the sales associate or manager that interacted with my father. Neither were currently working, however I was provided with the name and telephone number of the district manager, Ron. Ron promptly responded to my call and shared that he would open an investigation to find out the details of what occurred that day. He also shared that I would receive a call back from him in the coming days with an update. The last time I spoke with Ron was three weeks ago and I have not been provided with any such information. I also followed up with a text message, which went unanswered. My father has lived in the United States for over 30 years. English is his third language, which he does speak with an accent, but being a small business owner and a member of the community, has never had issues communicating in English. This was completely rude and disrespectful, and it made my father feel like the victim of a verbal racist attack. Advance thus far has not reached out with any resolution or apology and we were left to question this company's value, not to mention its customer service. In light of our current climate, and many racist attacks against the Asian-American community, this is unacceptable. Do better. read more

Very helpful attendant with a Jamaican accent. My windshield wipers failed in the rain so I walked in hoping to get some Help and new wipers. I drive a VW JETTA 2013 SE. He was working alone and the store was unusually busy that rainy night but he still managed through trial and error to locate the correct fit for my car. As a female, he didn't make me feel dumb or lost and simply helped me get what I needed. There was a young guy in there as well in the back who ended up snapping the wipers in place while I checked out. Had no idea. Great customer service ! read more

This morning I went to Advance Auto on North Main Street to get a windshield wiper arm that holds the wiper blade for my 2010 Chevy Impala. I was told they did not have the part. I was told to either go to a dealer or to one of two mechanics that the employee recommended. He said it is a dealer part you can only get from a dealer. Why order it from him when I could just go straight to the dealer and get it. Because all he's doing is ordering it from the dealer. After I left the store I pulled over in the parking lot and called another Advance Auto a few miles down the road. They too did not have the part but said that they could order it for me and have it by 10:30 this morning. It was now about 8:15 when I called them. I thought this is strange, why couldn't this store do the same thing? They led me to believe that they did not carry the part at all. Actually he said it was a dealer item and they would have to order it from the dealer so I might as well go to the dealer to get it. If not go to a local mechanic and they can order it and put it in. Now right across the street from Advance Auto is another auto parts store, Auto Zone. I went in, they ordered the part, and told me they would have the part by 2 pm. I paid for the part. End of story. The reason I gave this store a number one star is that they led me astray, recommended two auto repair shops in the area instead of just ordering the part. I find as a female that this happens all the time. My sons have taught me to Google YouTube when I have a problem with my car. They said "Mom if you can't repair it yourself at least you can go in armed with information and know how the work should be done." I Googled the problem with my windshield wiper and realized that it's a minor fix that I could actually do myself. All I needed was the part. This guy at the Advance Auto that I first went to on North Main Street could have easily said to me this is a job that can easily be done by you. It's going to cost you more to go to a dealership and have them install it. He could have said I can order the part for you and help you to put it in when you pick it up. Gone downhill - Poor customer service , Poor inventory management. I have ordered items online for store pickup (portal shows in stock). I made the trip to the store only find out they do not have them . This has happened 2 times in the past month. The last time went to this store, I noticed an employee outside taking a smoking break (who saw me walk in). I walked in and no one was at the counter and I waited for more than 5 minutes before asking loudly ("Hello!) for some one to help me. Finally, someone came out who could not fill my the order (3 of the 4 items Iordered could not be located). I wasted another 30 minutes for them trying to find the items that were not there. While waiting , I notice that there were empty shelves and pegs on shelves . To say the least, this was a frustrating experience. I won't be going returning to that store for a very long time (maybe never). read more

I had wipers installed at a different location (Advance Auto Parts in Maryland) and it turns out it was done incorrectly. The staff at this location took the time to take a look and identified the problem right away. Thumbs up for excellent service and saved me $$ from buying different wipers. I asked politely if he could look up warranty info really quickly or I could hold and his reply "I'm here by myself and busy, the other guy has not come back from lunch yet, call back in 10 minutes" Yikes!!!
