Yeah- I wouldn't recommend this place ever. I rather my house be robbed than deal with this mess. They lock you in for so long on a contract that's like 3 years long and claim you get all these perks and stuff and warranties and stuff but they love to charge you extra for " stuff that's not included". The customer service is 0/10 and I mean it. I spoke to people on the chat and on the phone all equally rude, don't help at all and they will either end the chat on you randomly or hang up the call and don't bother calling you back. In the last week and a half I've spoken to about 6-7 reps all for service call that none could really manage to see how to schedule. And then the 2nd to last person scheduled the visit and didn't even tell me when it was, so the final person spoke with told me a date and time and I told her that doesn't work- why schedule a service call without asking the customer what works for them? Like I don't understand. If you vocalize how angry you are- they will end the call or chat. I've seen nothing but bad reviews and it's unfortunate because I'm stuck with the stupid device for another 2 years. I wish they would really work on their customer service skills and actually value their customers. They are the worst security company! If there was rating of negative 10 I would! They don't deliver on what they agreed to and they lied on various occasions about what products they will provide. They severely overcharge for what they provide! The technicians that come to your house or business are totally disconnected from the management. They tried to lock me into a 3 year contract. Thinking of getting an alarm system? Don't even consider ADT!! The worst, most appalling lack of customer service ever. I have spent endless hours in a wild loop of people who could not help me. I was hung up on and worst of all- lied to. One rep who did not want me to cancel promised me a new alarm panel. Tech got to my house this morning and said there was no new panel but his service call was free. The worst part is I cannot get through to them now to cancel even though my alarm is disconnected. Beware of ADT's Bait & Switch practice. I initially installed ADT 5 years ago in a new home. The system included smart phone access, but in the 5 years the price went from $20/month to $45/month, so I subsequently cancelled only to fine out they take away the ability to use the phone app. So now I get two brochures in the mail telling me they want me back for $19.99/month and get a $100 gift card. When I called they ensured me I would get the same coverage I had previously, but here's the first "switch". The $100 gift card was only being given because they charge you $120 to reinstall the system. Ok, so I bought into that. Then they finally show up and tell me (the second "switch") the system they advertised is no longer available and I would have to get their new system for $55/month. Needless to say I was not happy. They say the very fine, blurry print explains all that, but since it's not readable, what's the point? They were VERY argumentative with me and not willing at all to negotiate a price or stand by their brochure. By the way, when their brochure says a feature is available, I assume it's available at the price listed not an EXTRA cost. ADT is the Worst but they are EXCELLENT at BAIT & SWITCH. I have been an ADT Customer for 20 years. Last year i had 2 outdoor cameras installed (250.00 each) plus a three year contract. They later told me the cameras would film from motion for 30 seconds and stop for 2 minutes. Then restart over again if motion. Sometimes they film for 10 seconds and may not come back on after 2 minutes. So a delivery truck will pull in my driveway the camera might film for 10 seconds. When i check the clips the truck just disappears. I have no idea what happened. Can't see plate numbers or face details, good luck identiying anything I am stuck with this for 1 1/2 year under contract for a system that is unusable. Will never use ADT again, Beware!!!! The biggest problem with ADT is the fact that their sales people will lie and promise you things that cannot be delivered. Our sales person failed to mention that a strong wifi connection needs to be present at all camera locations. And ADT's crappy extender did not solve the problem. Our sales person also said he would be on site at the day of installation. This was not true. The tech who installed the system installed the panel at one end of the house and it was too far away from the front door. He later had to come back to move the panel and we were charged for this service call. My advice : forget ADT. Don't use wireless cameras. Pay extra and have hard wired cameras. read more

If I could rate a zero I would. I will echo some of the other comments and say if you are looking for a security system do NOT go with ADT. The sales people promise what cannot be delivered. This is NOT the ADT we have heard about years ago. We have had the system for 6 months and have had 5 service visits. Each time the tech's come out, they are here for a very long time and they come up with some random reason why the same issue keeps happening. It's absolutely unacceptable for the thousands we have spent, to have a system that is never working fully and properly. AND they expect you to be the technician to remedy the issue. If the cameras aren't working they suggest you get a ladder and climb up to take the camera down to trouble shoot. They act as if they are doing you a favor by waiving service fees to send a tech. Even the nicest customer service person who feels awful for our experience, can only do so much. Getting a call back or a service appointment can be weeks out. WEEKS!! For a down system. It just isn't acceptable and apologies are no longer helpful. read more

What a nightmare. If you're in the Rhode Island area please please stay away from this company. After signing a two year contract they immediately subcontract any maintenance you need to the system. Our alarm constantly would falsely trigger sending us into a panic and frenzy to get home. We had multiple "adt reps" visit the house and no one was able to get it working properly. After about 6 months of trying and multiple home visits we shut off the system and never used it again. Of course we couldn't get out of the contract which we expected so we shelled out the $52 a month until we were finally able to cancel our contract. What a Nightmare! Horrible customer service. Be aware of what you are quoted on the phone and what your installation amount turns out to be. Mine increased by $1000.00. They are very sly in how they explain what you are getting and what you are charged. When I called for an explanation I was again misinformed. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Customer service is awful! They quote you a price for services and products. The tech will not review anything until there are holes in your walls and products are installed. Then they tell you nothing is what you were quoted and if you need to cancel call with in 3 days no problem. Let me tell you I've never had so much difficulty. I called to set up service at a new home we'd just purchased. I specifically asked for shock sensors on the windows (not just the open/close sensors). Was quoted a price based on this, and the fact that there was already a system in the home that had 8 sensors. Long story short, it turns out that the previous homeowner took the 8 sensors (you're not supposed to, they're ADT's property), AND the rep who sold me the system quoted me for basic open/close sensors. ADT is now telling me that I have to bear the cost of the missing sensors, plus the additional cost of the shock sensor upgrades. So basically I was quoted $450 for a system, and now they're telling us that it's going to cost $1750. They refuse to make it right. My advice is to be very careful when dealing with them, and make sure you know in advance what equipment you're being quoted for (check the model numbers online). I can't really do much about the situation anymore since we've already closed on the house (can't get those missing sensors back now). Also pay extra attention to their early termination fee - they're insanely high (mine is $1600, we've already got service at our current place and are just trying to move it).
