DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH ADT no matter what part of the country you live in. PERIOD!!! This company should be shut down. They are an absolute fraud. They care absolutely NOTHING about the customer. It's amazing how many agents I have talked to trying to cancel, all of whom have given me completely different answers and offers. The agents take little notes as not to have a reference when a customer calls. Their agents should be given awards for acting the part of caring for the customer! I just recently updated my ADT system. ADT service has been good for the last 18 years. However, with this upgrade it is disappointing that the sensors are so big and not ecstatically pleasing. It's ridiculous, sensors are huge, you would think that they would be smaller considering this is 2026. Or did they install inventory from early 2000's. I expected better since they said this was an upgrade. For the windows and doors, they're huge. They should be half the size. Moreover, they should make sure that what the customer service rep matches what the tech is really going to install. And the instructions need to be updated that they give the customer for their preparation of the tech appointment. The tech person was nice. Just wish I knew that the sensor were going to be from the early 2000's. What was the reason for merging with Google if the actual sensors/equipment is not update to date. read more

ADT Security Services - Huge sensor on my decorative Victorian door. - Security Systems Near Me - Shreveport, Louisiana

Installed main panel in master bedroom and did not tell me that my paneled room would have a big hole in it that cannot be repaired if you take the system out. Salesman tried to sell me cameras so that I could check inside house when not there. No pets. Why would I want to look at my refrigerator. The smoke detector went off for NO reason, was not even cooking and it screamed for one hour. Could NOT stop it. It was horrible. Was just making a sandwich. Try listening to that for one hour. Next day I was heating some asparagus and the thing went off. It screamed for 2 hours. ADT said there was no way to stop it from where they were. And it would take a week for a service person to come out. It was horrible and that was our anniversery. Only way you can stop the alarm is to climb up and remove the batteries and I am almost 90 and cannot do that. Have no family within 1500 miles. Do not know any of my neighbors. I quit. And am paying them to come out and power down the system and take the batteries of all out and take the sensors off of my outside doors. Oh and was told when I cancelled that each time the alarm went off, my rate would be raised for that year and next year it goes off, rate goes up and it is double plus what I was told it would cost to start with. Want to mention that we had been having issues with the smoke detector and had a service man come out the friday before all this happened. Paid him and he said we would have no more problems. Ha! And this guy came in from about 100 miles away, apparently no service people in Shreveport. Will never ever use or recommend ADT to anyone. read more

Buyer Beware! Canceling service with ADT takes nearly as long as getting the darn thing installed. Their business model appears to be the outdated style similar to that of Time Share Sales. They do all they can to convince the customer that they are worth 5x the cost of their nearest competitor and when that fails, they tell you they've got to transfer you to someone else who does the very same thing. Nothing but high pressure sales from someone reading off a script. Cost is high - Service is nonexistent. Using SimpliSafe now...safe, affordable and customer focused. read more

It's a shame I have to give it any stars! Took a couple of times coming back to fully secure our home I had to find spots that weren't cover by motion detection. Then they said it was fix and once again I showed how it wasn't still covering blind spot of 10 feet a door and a window. Really! Now on a military move their trying to take advantage of them moving us and trying to charge us 640 dollars early termination fee, but said that if we prove we moved it would be dropped. Funny thing is their calling us 4 states away every week trying to sign us up there. But we have the prove we moved also new home owner signed up for their service. Are you kidding me! Isn't that double dipping of being less than honest!!!!! Here's my recommendation to everyone for ADT don't be taken in I ask for copy of contract showing this says it's their policy! So no one returns message via telephone nor email. I reiterate WORSE SECURITY COMPANY PERIOD. Save yourself the money and frustration and go with another provider. ADT is the BIGGEST SCAM I have ever dealt with! I have never dealt with a company and had as many problems as I have with ADT. We started service in May, we have had numerous calls with company representatives and been promised to get 3 month free on 3 different calls but that has yet to happen. In fact, our bill has INCREASED monthly. The very first time we tried to use our alarm to go on vacation in June, our alarm went off and we were not able to answer our phones right away. The small dogs that we own set it off. We were assured by the sales person that the type of alarm system we had installed would not go off with our animals that are in our home. We called back within 15 minutes but they had already sent the police call out. They canceled the call before the police arrived at our home, however we still received a $50+ bill for this. We called the company at that point to cancel the services because we would not be able to use the alarm system if our small dogs would set it off. We were told we would have to pay the remaining 3 year contract.- This was less than a month of having the system. We scheduled someone to come look at the system and fix whatever the issue was so that we could attempt to use the alarm. The technician called a few hours AFTER he was supposed to arrive and said that he would not be able to make it. We set up another appt for service. They switched out the alarm that they claimed had been defective. We tried to use the alarm again. This time watching our phones closely. The alarm went off within about 5 min of being away from our homes. I de-activated the alarm from my cell phone and we have not used it since. I would like this ridiculous alarm system removed from my home, we cannot use it. We were supposed to receive 3 months free, that has NOT happened, and like I said in the second sentence, our bill has INCREASED. We will be posting and reviewing our complaints until you remove this and release us from this contract. Your equipment is completely useless for our family. Oh, and while my husband was on the phone tonight after 25 minutes. He was hung up on!!! The representative said she went to get her manager. When it hit 9pm the phone "auto-disconnected". My husband has been EXTREMELY patient with them considering the costs involved and problems that we have had. We both have worked many years in customer service. read more

So far we've had excellent experience with ADT. The reason for not getting 5 full stars is due to the fact that when we got the phone call for the initial quote, the manager promised us an $800 credit. What he should have said was 20% off of whatever package we chose because he was doing 20% off of the largest package they offered, which came out to $800 off. We didn't need all those things, so we chose to get a smaller package, and they were only able to take around $620 off. It will still a good deal though. My only other complaint is that the items got installed before signing the contract. Granted, only the "starter kit" items were installed, it was still done before I even agreed or signed the contract. The good news is that all the items come with a lifetime warranty. If anything breaks or stops working, it will be replaced, free of cost. The technicians were very nice, transparent, and friendly. They didn't try to make us buy a single thing we wouldn't need, and even worked around our budget to tell us things they are "supposed" to promote, but weren't promoting due to our house and family's needs. The alarm system is very high tech and works great. Each person that comes and goes into the house can have their own code, meaning that everyone will know who armed and disarmed the system and when.
