NOT GOOD service. There were no instructions on using the system, the service guys didn't have time to do the job AND explain it. I called in asking how to set the clock, a couple of years later the clock still isn't set. The install.... wow... one of my overhead door sensors is broken from being set to close. When ask for a replacement magnet, the quote was 60-70 dollars and I would have to come to their location the get it. Trying to get a call back from them is awful....I could tell you the sales guys name but that wouldn't solve my concerns with the company. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Here's the update and I'm being generous (with the 2 stars) as I did get a quote emailed which is what I prefer. I asked David Barkely for the estimates via email and provide all the other options like surveillance and so on. Then I asked about a discount for the missed appointment the prior week and he mentioned he hadn't thought about it but would consider it. Well, I emailed within minutes of getting the quote identifying additional questions and itemizing exactly what I'd like. I tried to schedule for the system to get started ASAP. But that can't be done via email someone has to call and complete this step... OK. Whatever. However, I'm waiting to hear the discount and before I could ask if there's and discount for paying in full - I was informed it's required. OK no biggie. Today, I got the "final" quote with the written statement that he discounted the panels since they required with the add-on of window sensors. They are usually more than $95/each or something but he's knocked $60 off. I double check the email quote and notice it's updated and replaced the original. So I check the text my brother sent which is a hard copy handwritten quote and the panels cost exactly the same. It made me question: where is the discount? This is the exact same price. I emailed asking for clarity, 10% off and giving notice I look forward to getting started. Clearly, folks I want the business but I don't want to be swindled. David replies he didn't change the numbers but it is discounted. That's as low as he can go. At this point, I've lost trust and possibly hope and faith. In closing, beware. Take caution. I can't wholly recommend and I prefer small local businesses over large conglomerates any day. I will admit I'm quite disappointed were 2 weeks out and I still don't have an alarm system. read more

As a Retired Chief of police they do my cameras, alarm, in home Seceret stuff. If I spent 30 years putting away super bad people I have Gaurdian now protecting me. It's a scary world and I'm talking bad people that would do anything. I'm still adding to my home and w Wes. Is awesome. A pro in Europe, Iran, and USA. Only one I trust. Not just burglary anymore. The sales rep lied outright about being able to initiate service then cancel if we had to move. They have a three year contract. Do not trust the sales people or the main office staff. read more

This company is a joke. Their customer service is at a eighth grade level. They can not even complete easy task. Alarm codes should be a simple thing for an alarm company. Going on a week to try and update our code list. Now after that almost no codes work. Had to set off the fire alarm button to see if anyone was even there to answer that. Save your money and time, get someone who cares enough to correct an issue before they loose all of their accounts. If there was a loser button, it would be full. read more

Awful experience with Guardian. I really loved them at first. The owner, Wes, personally came to my house after a horrible experience with ADT, and he seemed very knowledgeable. I went with Guardian even though installation was expensive (I already had a wired system and it cost $700 for them to install), because their $30/month monitoring service seemed reasonable. I wrote my first check for $725, representing the installation and one month's service, and gave them a credit card for subsequent auto-debit. They charged me the $725 TWO more times after the initial check. I called and spoke with Amy numerous times, and I was already starting to get angry. Finally, $2250 taken out of my account and $1500 in credits back to my account, they fixed it. The service was fine, and I didn't have any issues for a while. Fast forward 8 months, I called to cancel my account because we were moving. We eventually want a new system in our house but really don't want to pay $700 for installation again right now, so I just had them terminate my account. Two months later (today), I get a call informing me that my account is overdue. I just about lost my damn mind. Poor Heather really got an earful from me. Long story short, I wanted to like this company because they're small and locally owned. But it appears that they have no real business smarts and certainly no clue how to manage accounts. Their monitoring service and their installation are fine, but heaven help you if you need them to modify your account in any way. I'm not sure who we'll be using when we finally do get a new alarm system, but it probably won't be Guardian. It's too cumbersome to have to repeatedly check my account making sure they aren't taking large, unwarranted chunks of money out. Wes, you seem like a very intelligent guy, and I honestly hoped that I'd enjoy doing business with you. I'll come back when you fill your office with people who know what they're doing. read more

These people are a joke compared to competent other alarm companies. They must be paying builders to market their crappy service. Only way you can get any service from them is if you sign a three year deal and your stuck with their lousy service. Would not recommended them unless you have a lawyer that will do a pro bono case for you in the future cause you will need it. read more

I Needed a Surveillance and Alarm System. Though they were out of my market. I received their name from a friend as a referral. They provided excellent installation and training on both Camera and Alarm System. Within 1 week we caught someone stealing and they were apprehended by authorities. Very easy to deal with and fairly priced. I would highly recommend Guardian Alarm to anyone looking for an Alarm and or Surveillance system. read more

We moved into a new home and called Guardian to monitor our system. Very easy to sign up, no problem with them taking my money. They raise the rate as they see fit and no new contract is required. (How convenient) Now, we want to cancel the service. We don't use it and we get a lot of false alarms from some bad window contacts and many are disconnected after getting new doors and windows installed. This is where it gets nuts. To cancel, we where told we needed to email them with a reason as to why we want to cancel our service. Thats the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I am surprised they didn't ask me to email them as to why I want their service when we first signed up. Maybe I consider that its none of their business as to why, but, we told them the same thing I just posted. Amazing - we are told we are under contract for the next 30 days and they can cancel then. I wont hold my breath on that one. After reading other reports I am inclined to think my account will get dinged several more times. I am glad I never put my office and the farm house with them. I too thought a small, locally owned business would be the way to go. Well - there are others and glad we use the "other" for our office building and farm. read more
