**Extremely Disappointing Experience with ADT -- I Will Not Be Using Them**
I contacted ADT because I was looking into security cameras for our new dance studio. Initially, the representative was very friendly and helpful. However, the moment I explained that I needed to discuss the proposal with my husband before making a decision, his entire attitude changed.
I simply asked if he could email me a detailed breakdown of the pricing, equipment, and services being offered so my husband and I could review everything together before committing. He told me he could not send me that information unless I signed up.
I asked him directly, "Are you telling me you will not send me the information about what you are offering unless I agree to sign up?" He told me that his manager had said yes.
I was shocked. This was a significant business decision involving the security of our studio, and I was asking for basic information so we could make an informed decision together. Instead of respecting that, I felt pressured to commit on the spot without even being given the opportunity to review the details.
When I explained that I was not comfortable signing up without discussing it with my husband, the representative responded, "Well, I'm going to have a good day anyway. Just call back when you're ready."
The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected, pressured, and genuinely disappointed. The friendly customer service disappeared the moment I wasn't ready to make an immediate purchase.
**I cannot imagine doing business with a company that treats potential customers this way.** We were seriously considering ADT for our studio's security, but this experience has completely changed my mind. I wish I had never provided our studio's information in the first place.
If this is how a potential customer is treated before signing a contract, I have serious concerns about what the experience would be like afterward.
**My recommendation: Do your research and consider other security companies before choosing ADT.** I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
