I quit going to Pure as the service was never better than average-- if that--so I was excited at the prospect of a new place at the former Pure location. I didn't take any photos but it looks just like Pure except for the multitude of white sticky flower art placed on the wall. There were no new magazines for a new shop which was disappointing. Why don't shops care about keeping the customers happy in that regard? I was a bit disappointed there. The ladies were kind and friendly and told me they had previously worked at Pure. So you can imagine how all of these things made me skeptical at first. The massage was weak, and you sit in the same uncomfortable position on the sofas, without the massage chairs offeredat most salons. Then again, my massage was only an extra dollar as part of the opening special, so I couldn't really complain but it should have been part of the service, anyway. I was also given the option of an eyebrow thread or nail art which hopefully would have been a better pick. There were few girls working on a weeknight, so I'm not sure if they would have had time for the threading. But the actual mani and pedi (gel on hands only) looked pretty good to me, so $72 later (with a ten dollar tip) I was satisfied and left with a smile on my face. I appreciated the service, the stamp card and the friendliness of the ladies, so in spite of the familiar blips that came with Pure, the positives outweighed the negatives and I will likely return. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in a salon. My friend and I went together last week for pedicures (polish already chipped off). Our bad pedicures are nothing compared to how rudely the staff treat patrons. They were fast, aggressive and rude. She was hurting me and asked if it it hurt. I said yes, and she just kept going with disregard. An elderly lady came in and her toenails were very long. The two staff members were arguing in their language over who had to do the pedicure. The girl who lost was pouting and making a face right in front of the client!! It was about as relaxing as a visit to the dentist. Oh, wait, my dentist is friendly and nice. Never mind. So, I was pretty bummed about this. I have only had a few pedicures in my life as they are always a *treat yourself* moment. I googled this place, looked nice, and headed on in. First of all the pedicure started with literally just a bowl they bring out on a dirty floor. This has never happened to me before but this could be more common than I think. Next, two of their employees ended up switching on and off my feet. They were not communicating with each other and were just...doing whatever. Let's just say, the pedicure was not "Even" between both of my feet. There was a ton of dead skin left after they filed down my calluses. No pressure applied during any of the procedures. Overall the result I left with, was what I could have done at home easily. Before I left, another woman appeared?? and clipped off some of the dead skin you could see while my toenails were drying. Eventually, after waiting 20 minutes with no one speaking to me, I got up to leave. One of the girls saw this and ran over to spray a "dry" spray-on my toes. Seriously, was not worth the money. They were nice enough but I have never had nail technicians switch up in between clients like that. Would not recommend. Side note, they moved locations in January (I asked.) You would think an establishment would have PROPER signing by now? It's August. They still have a sign in the window underneath the previous establishments' name. ***Update! I put on shoes 3 hours after pedicure - :) The polish is now all smushed. Cool. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday. I was just walking by and hoped to get a manicure. Luckily they did have an appointment available, I just had to wait 15 minutes which was great. My turned rolled around and they had me seated quickly. I just got the regular manicure. I am not one who likes to chat while getting my nails done so it was ok that the lady helping me was quiet, but I found it strange because she didn't say a word to me or look me in the eye. It was bizarre, but I was ok with it. But then another customer walked in and she suddenly lit up, greeted her and started asking how her day was. Presumably the other customer was a regular, but wouldn't you want to treat all your customers well so that they will come back? As for my actual manicure, I wasn't too impressed. She got polish on my cuticles, making it look a little sloppy. The tips weren't sealed with Polish or top coat so it chipped almost instantly. Also the top wasn't distributed evenly so you can see the ridges made by the top coat just inside the edges of the polish. (I'm quite picky with my nail polish, I know, so I may be better off just doing it myself!) First impressions are everything, and most businesses should know that. I've been a regular here and have generally been pleased with the service. Unfortunately something has changed. I had an appointment today for a pedicure. There was only one other customer in the salon but my pedicure was rushed... my feet were barely in the water before they were out again. Hardly any callous removal and a very lacklustre massage that lasted all of 30 seconds. That alone wouldn't have caused me to write this review. What was very disappointing was that the polish application was also rushed. For starters, they have a poor selection of colours for regular (non Shellac) polish. Not sure if the one I chose was old, but it was applied unevenly... thick in some spots and streaked in others. After about 10 minutes of drying, someone came and applied cuticle oil and proceeded to rub it into my barely dry toenails! When I got home I saw that she'd left her thumbprint in the polish which looks lumpy and uneven. I won't be going back. I'm sure the person who put the oil on my nails saw the horrible job that had been done and I'm sure she felt her finger go into still wet polish. But she just let it go. There are far too many other salons in the same area for me to waste my time and money at Adorn. The polish looks so bad I'll have to go somewhere else to have it removed and replaced. read more

I was really disappointed with the service. It's probably one of the worst nail experiences I've had. My nails looked awful after. There was paint on my cuticles, air bubbles on every single nail, and the coats of paint are very uneven so you can see ridges! Additionally the coats of paint were so thick that 3 hours later they are still "wet" under the top coat. The girls are very nice, but I won't be coming back to do my nails again here. There are so many other salons that are cheaper and do better work. read more

Just tried this place out for the first time, 100% would recommend! Bonnie is amazing! I am a serious nail biter and I wanted gel nail extensions for a wedding that looked natural like real nails. The attached photos speak for themselves! Bonnie worked for nearly 2 hours to give me hard gel nail extensions with gel nail polish. She wouldn't stop until she was satisfied. This is a nice clean nail salon. They changed my gel polish in 40 minutes for $35. A little more expensive than I have paid before. They took a walk in mani/pedi while I was there. They don't have all the bells and whistles some of the chains like massage chairs etc, do but I will go again. read more

Great service! Mani pedi was very fast, I was in and out in 1 hour. For 50$ this included a quick massage for hands and feet as well, more than I have had at other salons for that price. They don't have the fancy chairs and just use a bowl to soak feet but it does the job. They did a really nice job on my toes and fingers. Will definitely come back! read more

I get my nails done often for years and have been to many nail spas in Vancouver. I've been here at least 10 times now. While I really like the place (nice clean environment) and the staff is really friendly (although some can't speak English to well but not really a big problem), every shellac manicure I've gotten here has not lasted more than a few days. They do a great job of putting it on nice and clean and not too close to the cuticle, however for some reason it never lasts!! So frustrating as I have kept coming back because I do like the place and it's the closest nail salon for me. Note: I'm not super careful with my nails and I'm definitely more rough on them than the average person, but still.... every other place I've been to my nails have lasted AT LEAST 1 week before starting to chip. My friend and I came here because they had 40% off gel nails. After 2 days, two of my nails had chipped and several others were cracking in the same spots. It's been 5 days now and one of my friend's nails just came off completely. Would not recommend. read more
