Updated review: 12/17/21 Beware new clients . You have been warned . Black women/business owners have to do better when it comes to business . My experience with Jasminique was overall okay . She does great work . Talent is talent . But she lacks healthy perspective. I would say I am a very loyal client . I am easy going , kind and tip when I can . We had very heart felt conversations and I thought I found a professional stylist . I was wrong . To make a long story short , Jasminique needs to know how to identify issues with communication. Miscommunication occurs all of the time . I recently purchased hair from her June 2021 . Bought 3 bundles + plus 1 extra from a mistake that could have been avoided . But I won't go there . Any ways , I made tons of referrals and even had family purchase hair from her in September 2021. Jasminique told me she was no longer going to sell curly hair . Then, she removed the hair off of her website . So I naturally assumed she is fine with you bringing your own curly hair . Jasminique would not reconsider using the bundles I purchased due to her policy of not using other people hair . I understand you have to make your money . I was more than happy to buy from her but she clearly stated she was selling my texture . Jasminique has a lot of growing up to do as a woman and a business owner . I came across someone who I just met , we talked about hair and random she mentioned Jasminique being a judge mental stylist , who made her feel uncomfortable. Glad to say I'm not the only one who felt her wrath. Jasminique does not value her customers . I do not recommend her at all. If your looking for someone that's educated on hair, and can produce results you've at the right spot. I've been a client since May 2022, and I can honestly say it's the best decision i've made for my hair. I've been following Adorn Me Studio on Instagram for the last year and 1/2. I met Jas at another business, and I over heard her mention she was a hair stylist so I decided to add/support her page. Remind you I was not looking for a stylist, especially a stylist an hour and half away, I was just supporting another business owner ...... until I started seeing her post. What I liked most about her post was the fact all her clients had not just hair but healthy looking hair. It is very hard to find a stylist who can maintain healthy hair, and I feel like having healthy hair is overlooked because theirs so many things to hide our natural hair, such as lace fronts, braids, weaves etc. After seeing enough consistent post , I decided I wanted to be her client, unfortunately she was not accepting new clients, but she added me to her waiting list. I patiently waited a year ..... yes a FN year to get off the list, I deff was that annoying a$$ Person that kept reminding her I'm still here lol I found out my cousin was waiting as well lol. I knew I had found a real stylist ppl patiently waiting for you to open a spot, yet everyone had the opportunity to find someone else, and still decided to wait......yes .........I deff knew she was my stylist, and I kept my eyes on her post so that I didn't miss my opportunity. May 2022 It was my opportunity, I got to book my first appointment. Little Background info on my hair .... it's beyond thick, dead ends because I wouldn't let anyone cut it, due to previous scissor happy stylist.... I'm at a stage where I want to fully grow it out and wear my natural hair, a year prior the back of my hair was completely shaved and the front was short like a pixie cut. This is also the first time I've ever experienced postpartum due to two back to back pregnancies, which FN SUCKED but life goes on. If your a client your aware that Jas only use her hair in which at first I'm thinking awww shit I hope this hair is good quality hair, I've gotten hair before that was suppose to be good quality but was trash. Jas hair quality is amazing no BS I've been swimming , combing , curling , flat ironing , washing and haven't had no problems at all. The quality in her sew-in techniques are FN amazing I worn mine for 2 in a half months and you wouldn't of known, she doesn't braid your hair tight yet your sew-in is secure. I always get compliments on my hair. I've moved a little closer but not by much I drive 1hr and 10 min just for Jas to do my hair. It's deff worth your time and money, when she trim your hair she's not just scissor happy she's educating as she moves which I believe makes clients comfortable. Her shop is clean, she's professional, on time, send out appointment reminders. Lastly I'll add I've NEVER been to a hair shop and left without having to add my own touch to it, Jas is the first stylist I don't have to change anything and that's important to me because who the hell want to have to go over what they just paid for, I deff don't. If you guys decide to book with her I just ask y'all don't give her any shit lol I need her around until my kids get of age so she can manage their hair as well lol ...... Jasminique did such an amazing job on my hair. I don't think my hair has ever been so smooth and silky like it is with the silk press she did on my hair. My hair is very think and curly, and I have been to several salons that not do not get it as smooth without a chemical treatment, and no one has done my hair a fast as Jasminique did it. She also made time to trim my hair. She is professional, responded very quickly when I texted her to set up an appointment, and is very affordable for the quality of work that she does. So Glamorous salon is also a very comfortable salon with a cute and relaxing atmosphere. It has been a few days, and I haven't even had to touch my hair up at all with my flat iron yet. Her customer service is awesome, I came to her the 1st time after I broke my foot and I was on crutches. She was so accommodating and made every attempt to make sure I was comfortable. I'm SUPER PICKY about my hair and work quality, Jasminique does an amazing job ALWAYS! I just got back from Dominican Republic...swimming in the ocean, pool parties, swimming pool, jungle...etc and my hair STAYED LOOKING FLY!!!! I came across this beautiful ladies Instagram and saw that her work was beautiful so I booked a silk press with her! She also cut my natural hair and brought it back to health! Even after that 1 appointment my hair grew more than it's grown in a long time which says a lot! I later decided to get a sew in. Her work on her Instagram is consistent and you can tell that she focuses on hair growth and the integrity of your natural hair underneath your install. I am beyond pleased with the results!! I woke up today with no headache which I normally have the day after a sew in. There's no tension on my precious edges and I didn't have to give her any direction like I've had to do with my previous hair stylist! Oh and she was done when she said she would be!! No sitting at the salon for hours on end I was in and out in no time! On top of her having blessed hands she's just a genuine soul. I had a consultation with Jasminique and she was very unprofessional and standoffish. I could immediately tell that she was very arrogant and childish. She is exactly how some of the negative reviewers have described her. Unfortunately, I didn't read her reviews before I went to see her but in her defense, sadly it is just very difficult to find professional black hair dressers in Sacramento for some reason. They are few and far between. Especially if they know how to do hair well. Doing hair well just seems to go along with the bad attitudes and arrogance. Doing hair well is just not enough if you have the business etiquette, tact or professionalism. Being Ghetto Fabulous doesn't make for a good business owner. Yes, you will always find customers who don't mind being mishandled as long as they get what they need done but there are skills that business owners must have in order to run a business properly and most hairstylists who do weaves just don't have it or never learned it. Please note that some of the positive reviews are not legitimate reviews and are actually done by the business owners themselves or their friends on Yelp to boost their businesses. I have nothing against Jasminique and think she does a great job with the hair but if she doesn't make the very necessary changes regarding her nasty attitude, ghetto behavior and childish ways after so many disappointed clients she will continue building herself a bad reputation while yet and still defending her actions. I know she has been given bad reviews for years because ironically, as I searched for other stylists I found her working in another salon for someone else where she was also given similar bad reviews for her nasty attitude and lack of professionalism in how she treats people. There's no need to reply or defend yourself Jasminique as you do with everyone else who has given you a negative review. Have honor and respect for customers who in case you forgot are paying their hard earned money to get their hair done by you. Just take the advice you have been given and take heed because you're leaving a trail of disgruntled customers and you may think it's cute now until the negative reviews far outweigh the positive and you are left with skills but very few customers. I was so happy to finally get an appointment here but after getting my hair done by Jasminique I definitely will never come back. I was shocked to say the least by her stuck up attitude from the moment I walked in. Anytime I would ask her a question or try to spark up a conversation she would give short responses like I was bothering her, I figured she could've been having a bad morning...... She asked me how I wanted my part/ leave out and I told her I wanted my leave out to be where I could part my hair in different ways because I like to curl my bangs to the right side of my face and occasionally part it down the middle rather than just keeping one style all the time. My hair looked fine after she was done but I noticed she parted my hair to the left side. I didn't say anything because I figured she left plenty of leave out so I could just move it to the right side like I wanted, so I paid and left. When I got home and messed with it for about 30 minutes I realized there was no way to get it to a right side part or even a center part and that my hair would be stuck the way it was. I texted her to ask if there was a way to fix it and her response was that the only way to fix it would be to take it down and redo it. At that point I asked for my hair to just be taken down and to get a refund to which she responded "no". So then I asked if she could redo my hair and she never responded. Bottom line she didn't pay attention to what I asked her to do and BEWARE you are NOT facing a mirror when your hair is getting done, if I was I could've caught her mistake. Her attitude sucked and as I was leaving I could hear her being super nice and laughing with a lady who was getting her hair done after me, at that point I took how she was acting towards me during my appointment personal. To have to go through this with it being my first time here she outta be ashamed of herself. It is clear she treats her regular customers differently than new ones which I think is stupid because why wouldn't you want to build you clientele? I would highly recommend that she take a customer service/etiquette class because hers sucked. My two year old sister has a better attitude than her. I don't care how well you do hair you don't treat anyone like that. I definitely agree with the other ladies who left negative reviews. Response - I said you were 100% correct with you saying you provided a "service" not that you did my hair right thank you very much. And after my mom and I had a mishap on over processing our hair, we needed help. However, we've had our fair share experiences of salon high hope let downs but this was not the case with Jasminique. Not only was she welcoming, flexible in schedule, and friendly, but she generously helped us out with a free trim (we needed it) and styled our hair that brought us back to looking and feeling glamorous! She was thorough and professional and the atmosphere was clean, open, and private with simple yet beautiful decor. Jasminique has done me and my sisters hair and we always LOVE how it turns out! She is very good at what she does! I am very picky and require a lot and she always does whatever I ask with a great attitude. My weaves always last atleast a month longer than other weaves Iv had in the past. She is very polite and she knows how to do some hair! My hair is always very stable and secure after she braids it. My sister purchased hair from her and it's been a year and it's still in the same condition as when she first bought it. I appreciate the fact that she requires a deposit because you know that she takes her job seriously and her time is just as valuable as yours. In the past if the hair dresser I was booking with didn't require a deposit I wouldn't go to them because I prefer a certain level of professionalism. I have to join the throngs who are singing Jasminique's praises as an excellent hair stylist and business owner. I made an appointment for my mom and myself for a Saturday afternoon in May. Not only did I get to see the amazing results of the silk press she did on me, but I also got to sit back and witness her work on my mom's hair. As two people essentially taking up two appointment slots, we actually had a pretty fun time chatting with Jasminique in her shop. As for my silk press, I stretched that bad boy out for a good two weeks before finally washing and happily watching my hair revert to its naturally curly state. I got compliments left and right, especially when walking fast or if the wind was blowing through my tresses at any point -- it makes you look really glam at the right moments.
