I used to use Adogo in Minnetonka until COVID hit, my dachshund died, and I stopped going anywhere. However. I returned to boarding my pups and using doggy day care last year (2022) and my new dachshund puppy LOVES it. My chihuahua always has loved it but now all I have to do is whisper "doggy day care" and they run around all excited! My only gripe is that the groomers are so busy I can rarely get a dog bathed at the end of a stay, but that's not a big deal. I like being able to watch them on the webcams, but if they're outside there's no camera. The staff are all knowledgeable and fun. The owner, John, has gone out of his way over the years to make sure I know my dogs are doing well!! He even texted me a picture a few years ago when I was unhappy my dogs were never on camera during a ten-day trip to Florida! What a gem. read more

We've been taking our 30 lb goldendoodle to Adogo for about 6 months now for daycare. He recently was kicked out for at least 6 months due to getting fixated on other dogs, I.e humping. It's interesting how other daycare facilities we take him to have told us he's a humper, but it's no problem because it's common and these other daycares actually know how to manage it normal dog behaviors. Not to mention, the same day he got kicked out, he also came home with terrible kennel cough!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the double whammy to the gut, Adogo. read more

For some time I had been dropping my dog of here while I went into work once a week with no issue (I do however not love that I can't see him when he isn't outside) ... but about a week before an issue, I started taking screen grabs as it looked like the staff was barely paying attention. While I know the incident in question is my dog's fault (no dog should ever bite another dog so I'm taking full ownership of my dog's fault and have worked it out with the other dog's owner and that dog is just fine with minor injuries cured with antibiotics I paid for) I'm highly aware of the fact that it wasn't unprovoked like it was claimed. I take my dog to many dog parks and play dates multiple times a week and have never had an issue. He is a golden retriever and barely chews his own toys, he is not intact and is not alpha in any way. My issue is NOT with their protocol about my dog not coming back to daycare (I get it, my dog bit another dog), my issue is the supervision and the long hours outside in 90 degree weather with zero breaks and without video footage of the actual incident. The other owner also admitted to their dog not having been socialized. I'm posting this in hopes for future dog owners to get an outside camera but also hopes that if a dog isn't socialized that it's a gradual process in the future issues do not happen. This has to be one of the worst places around to take your dog. They have two horrible things for anything in a service-related industry. Dogs are part of my family. They will neglect them, hurt them, make them completely uncomfortable. We were on the phone with the groomer and asked if that was our dog and they confirmed yes. I haven't heard many dogs make the noise I heard over the phone. They claim they will call you back and never do. If you ask to speak to a manager, you will get a very unpleasant woman that thinks she knows everything about your specific dog. She will deny anything that happened and not rectify any of the issues. There is a reason they have no awards since 2018. I am assuming manager changed, so save your time, money, and pet's mental and DON'T go here. read more

Took my dog there for the first time about a week ago for an "evaluation". Front staff very friendly and the place seemed very clean My circumstances that day were such that I could watch the indoor webcam frequently. Room size/play area was good. My dog was with about 10 others and she did just fine. There was only one attendant in the room and I never saw them touch my dog once. Never saw her go outside to go potty. When I picked her up, after having been there about 5 hours - the first thing that she did, 2 feet out the door, was take a really long pee. Not sure how much attention she got there. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased I am to be writing this review. I have taken my dog to this hotel for daycare numerous times. After seeing on the webcam just how they treat their dogs, I knew I had the reason to post this review today. Staff - The staff here are amazing, they are so caring and friendly when you walk in, but not only that, they treat every dog like it was their own. I was incredibly impressed today to see an employee hugging every dog in the Medium Dog area. Its comforting to know my dog is being taken care of as if they are at home. I hope your employees know they are appreciated in what they do for owners like myself who need a place to send their dog for the day. Facility - Always clean and tidy, and with the ability to watch the dogs via webcam at work makes it even better. Less worry. I will continue to use the ADOGO pet hotels from now on, after seeing how they take care of our pets. They really go above and beyond making the experience a really pleasant one. Our two dogs were there Minnetonka Adogo 8/7 Saturday to 8/16 Monday. Our one year old dog got sick with breathing problem on Tuesday midnight, by Friday, he had to be admitted to ICU for severe pneumonia needing IV antibiotic and oxygen cage. There were no communication during drop off or pick up that they had kennel cough cases in their facility. I found google review by Linda Moua (2 months ago, 7/15) that complained the same. Their dogs had 5+ overnight stays and got sick with cough. Adogo was not transparent. read more

I have had my dog at 2 daycares, the Adogo in Minnetonka is considered the 2nd. I will first share the Adogo experience then the other which is a facility not in MN. Adogo Mtka: Walked in on a Friday after work around 4:45pm to check out the facility and was hoping to get a tour. There were 2 employees up front. Was told they only do them at their scheduled times. I was able to get my dog scheduled the next day. There was no paperwork to fill out asking about my dog's temperament, etc. Just needed the vet information. I was also told it would cost $24 and my dog had to stay a minimum of 4 hours. Went there the next day and told the gentleman, he is not aggressive but will get on his hind legs when with larger dogs. The gentleman looked at my dog for one minute in the lobby and said he was approved. Other location (not a chain): Walked in after work asking for a tour. She got another employee and gave me a tour of the entire facility: play areas, where leashes go, outdoor fenced potty area, grooming room, birthday party room, and human bathrooms. I was also given a price sheet, 4 full pages about my dogs temperament, what he likes, his behavior around other dogs, etc. From that questionnaire, they would get a pretty good understanding about my dog. I was also given a sheet on what was required for him to be there like immunizations etc. I was told he had to have a temperament test so we got that scheduled. That was not super convenient because their trainer does those, they are busy and was not able to schedule for a week and a half. The trainer assessed my dogs interaction with me in the lobby and other dogs coming in, read my questionnaire, talked to my dog by name and petted him, held his leash then took him behind closed doors for 10 minutes. After all that interaction, he passed. I was not charged for the assessment nor required to leave my dog there for a minimum of 4 hours. Adogo Mtka: After the "assessment," I was given a tour of the main floor 2 play areas only. Nothing else. I inquired about the outdoor play area and was told it was too hot for today to take them out. The dogs were not running and playing with "friends," but all barking excessively in both areas. There was one employee with approximately 20 dogs or more in the small area and less dogs in the larger dog area. I was surprised how many dogs were barking and they huddled in a pack by the fence when they saw us. It was warm in that room which surprised me too. I was told they were going to split up the smaller dogs and some would go in the training room up stairs and that it was cooler up there (which it was). We walked in to the little gated area where they let the dogs get acclimated for a few minutes before going in to the play room. Again the dogs packed to the gate barking. My dog would not stay in that area and was trembling. I took him to the lobby and told him he would be alright. Went back in the room and asked how soon would they split the dogs. We then went upstairs to the other room. It was cooler, larger and because of the windows with logos and not all white and lit up, felt calmer. I then left my dog there with an Adogo Mtka: upon pick up, the dogs were still barking non-stop. They had moved the small dogs back downstairs just recently. They brought out my dog and said he did fine. I asked for any leftover food. The employee left and don't recall him coming back. It was a little chaotic. Paid for the time and left. My dog was panting heavily so I went back in and put water in his bowl. He drank three times. I will say he was tired. Was he happy, I don't know. He was happy to see me. I felt anxious to get him outside where it was quiet. Other location: He did not whine or cry when I left him and he was happy to see me. They call your dog by name and give you information on how he did. I had no anxieties. My first assessment at both locations: i would not hesitate leaving my dog at the other location and both my dog and I seemed calm. I will give Adogo Mtka another try but will watch the videos this time. I was told it was a busy weekend and that is why so many dogs. I will assess that next time as well. Can Adogo do more to improve - absolutely. I hope this honest experience will cause them to look further into my comments and make some positive changes. I will be happy to give another review. We have a Shiba Inu that just loves going to Adogo, she stays over for as long as a week at this canine resort when we're away. The people of Adogo are great with dogs and enjoy working with them. She knows she's going to Adogo and pulls at her leash excitedly all the way to their front door and when we pick her up, she's content and exhausted. They have a large facility which is perfect for the dogs to play and socialize in. read more

I took my dog here for day care during the day. The facility seemed fine, and the staff were friendly, and intake was fast. However, they did not have any cameras pointing outside to where all the dogs were at. In addition, the camera they did have were set to load off center and not viewable on iOS. When I loaded on my computer, they were buffering and not watchable more than half the time. For me, half the experience is being able to check in on your dog throughout the day to make sure they are enjoying their time and being treated right. After about an hour with no visibility, I picked my dog up. read more

Feels like a chain and low touch customer service (they barely remember your dogs name even after 20+ visits). Our dog always has a slight smell of urine upon pickup and he has gotten sick twice. After watching the dog cam, the smell was explained as the guy cleaning up messes with a mop would lazily drag the dirty mop across the floor and bump into the play structures, pretty gross and not clean. Probably will never use again unless forced to - even though we have a few remaining prepaid daycare visits. This place needs to do better. read more

As a business that is focused on animal care, I'm appalled and would not recommend this place as they don't care about your animals well-being. We explicitly confirmed our high anxiety rescue dog was not to be socialized with other dogs. After only 20 minutes, we were called and told to pick him up due to an altercation with another dog during group socialization time. (Actually, first we were falsely told he bit a person.) I'm livid. You are in the business of caring for dogs and I wouldn't entrust any dog into your care, let alone a previously abused rescue animal, simply because you do not listen to the needs of the dogs. A complete lack of empathy was shown at pickup, and instead I was berated for my animals behavior. He was put into that situation by YOU and your employees lack of care to attention and inability to follow guidelines that we outlined and confirmed ahead of time. Unacceptable. read more

I brought my dog to the maple grove location he was walking and happy as can be. After 5 days I got a phone call saying he couldn't use his hind legs. They had to rush him to there vet telling me mine was closed on Wednesday's which it is not. I had to pay 8500 for surgery and now he is paralyzed. I asked for the camera footage for the days he was there they said they didn't record it. All they said to me was they put him in the kennel at night time and he woke up that way. I half expected my dog to come back traumatized and never leave my side again. I've boarded her at Adogo a couple times and so I brought her back this last weekend. She came back home completely exhausted... Actually, she almost didn't want to come home. I picked her up and she was panting and covered in drool (must have just been pulled from the play area). Car rides used to be her favorite thing, but she didn't even want to get into the car--- and started crying as we pulled away. My dog is my child, and as Adogo is amazing, I don't mind driving all the way from West St. Paul to Minnetonka to board her at a place this great! I think the service by the employees was alright- I didn't think they were rude at all. And they seemed to really show affection to my dog, which is really all that matters to me. I'd prefer someone who takes car of my dog to love my dog more than they love me... just sayin'. read more

After a stay of five days, our seven month old Bedlington terrier was a zombie and dispirited. He had facial material around his mussel and stomach and had urinated on himself. A day later he is still not back to his frisky puppy self. His grooming done during his stay left some scratches under his ear. read more

I've been taking my Golden Retriever here for over a year and a half. He is always so excited to see the staff here and has boarded at Adogo 3-4 times. I trust the staff there with Henry. They know him and clearly care about him. Since Henry has been going to daycare 3x a week for a while now he loves playing with other dogs and it really helps to keep him exercised on those days I just can't take him for the long walks he needs. As a single person with a high-energy dog, I don't know what I would do without Adogo. Last winter I had knee surgery and could not get around on the ice on my crutches very well. The staff would have me call, come out to get Henry for me from my car, and bring him to my car at the end of the day for me. It sounds small, but this was hugely helpful to me and I appreciated it greatly. They have always let me know if something out of the ordinary happens (like Henry throws up or has diarrhea or something) or if Henry does something crazy adorable, like tries to submerge himself in one of the shallow fountains outside. Additionally, they do a great job with grooming. This is a life saver for me also because I'm too scared to cut his claws. Anyway, thanks Adogo! read more

Unlike every other place I have boarded my dog there was ZERO feedback after leaving him for a week. They just gave me back my dog and his food with a "here ya go." Oh. Yeah. And he had kennel cough when I got him back and I had to take him to the vet the first day I was back (my boss loved that.) I now believe I was just turning him into a VERY low caring company. He's 70 lbs and I gave them 7 large treats: one for every day I was gone. When I got back there were still 4 left. I will NOT use this location ever again. read more

I've taken my dogs to Adogo several times for day care, hoping they would get a lot of playtime and come home tired. They weren't coming home tired so I started watching the Adogo-cam. The camera isn't positioned to see where the dogs hang out most, so I rarely catch a glimpse of my dogs. What I do see are bored dogs sleeping or roaming aimlessly. I've watched several times over multiple visits and the dogs aren't engaged, encouraged to play or anything. I also feel like the staff doesn't really have any kind of system for dealing with the humans, it feels a little chaotic, which I'd be fine with if I had happy tired dogs coming home. My dogs can be bored at home, what's the value in bringing them to this place? read more

I've been taking my dog here for daycare for over a year when my company moved. This location is on my way to work and very convenient. It's a nice facility and the staff there has always been very nice to me. They know my dog's name when we walk in. It's nice. A few things that stick out to me though: 1) I think the dogs have a harder time having fun indoors--it's tougher to run on cement, so they don't really get all that excited. If you watch the webcams, you can see this. Most of the time, they're just wandering around, sniffing each other. 2) Due to point #1, my dog doesn't come home as tired as she used to be from her first daycare. At her old daycare, she'd have a blast (I'd see her on the webcams playing her heart out). Wish they had a better play area or added indoor turf or something so the dogs feel like they can run around more. Other than that, it's a fine place. My dog wags her tail when we go, which makes me happy. I know she's in a safe place and she's being looked after. I do miss her old daycare as I think it was a better place for her. read more

I gave this place 3 stars for two reasons: 1. The facility is nice. Lots of play room, clean, new. 2. BUT I found the staff (namely the woman running the front desk) to be extremely rude and unwelcoming. (I grew up in Eden Prairie and have had my share of run ins with snobs, but really? At the dog daycare? Unnecessary lady) Let me first say that we frequent dog parks (and have since found a great doggy daycare/boarding facility) so I'm quite familiar with the process and proper "doggy play" etiquette. I'm from Eden Prairie and wanted to find a place to board my dog that was close to my parents house, should they need to pick up/drop off. I consulted Adogo over phone who assured me they had a lot of larger breed dogs there (my dog is big and plays hard, I wanted to ensure they had playmates for him). We went to the vet and paid for an additional bordatella shot even though he'd had one within a yr (they require every 6 months which is pointless- my vets words, not mine) and dropped him off. The woman looked at my dog with distain as I checked in and was extremely unfriendly, taking him to the back without letting me say goodbye. I proceeded to wait at the desk as she played with the computer for 5 minutes before telling me I could leave... maybe she's not a morning person? As I waited, I noticed that the majority of dogs that go here are small. Nothing wrong with that, but as you can imagine, my dog did not have a good day as there were very few playmates for him. I do not recommend this place for larger breeds, or people that want a friendly environment for their pets. read more

We boarded our dog here for a weekend this summer. I was really excited about the online camera so I could watch my dog. Well, he was only on camera for like the first couple of hours and I never saw anyone in the room again the rest of the weekend. I was really bummed out about that and I don't know if they don't have the cameras outside, or if they stayed in their cages all weekend. Who would know? The cam showed nothing but empty rooms and I checked several times a day. He seemed just fine when I picked him up, but for the price, I expected to be able to keep tabs on the cam. Very poor experience. First time I had kenneled our rescue dog, and the worst experience I ever had in my life kenneling any dog. The facility called and said she had "respiratory distress" and insisted I pick her up ASAP and take her to the pet ER. I was worried sick about my pup but as it was Christmas day, didn't have anyone else that could have picked her up. I got in the car right away and drove the four hours home. Thankfully, it wasn't a blizzard. (Note: we had just dropped off our dog on Christmas eve day at 9:30 a.m. so I was barely in Madison, WI for 24 hours. Our celebration was to be Xmas day and the other family members just showed up 15 minutes before I took off so I didn't get to see them much for our once a year celebration.) My visit on Christmas Day at the pet ER took 3 hours since they were so busy. Ironically, the vet said my pet had kennel cough. Actually, I was relieved because when the ADOGO staff person called and said she had "respiratory distress" I was worried sick. I didn't know if she had a collapsed lung or what it could be. The ER vet asked if I had boarded her before. I said no. Then I remember that 6 days earlier she was at ADOGO for her half-day temperament evaluation. The ER vet said because of the typical incubation period that she most likely picked up the infection from the pet hotel on the eval visit. Although it was viral, the vet did give me antibiotics to make sure it didn't turn into pneumonia. My husband found it ironic that our dog got kicked out of the Pet Hotel for something she picked up there. Me, too. Cost: Emotional turmoil worried about our rescue pup we had only had for a month. My husband had to rent a car for $180.00 to drive himself back from Madison. Since our dog was sick, we didn't want to have her sit in a car for 8 hours straight (4 each way). ER visit cost $180.15 (exam and meds) plus three hours sitting there on Christmas day. Total expenditure: $360.15 financial, sick pet, and missed holiday with family. Of note, our last lab mix we boarded at Hound Dog Pet Hotel several times and she went there for daycare once a week. We had her until she was almost 14 and she never got kennel cough once. Additionally, once when we boarded her for a week and were out of town, a different boarded lab bit our dog on the ear. The facility kicked that dog out and took our dog to our vet and had her ear stitched up. They paid for it and we never saw a bill. Hound Dog was full for Christmas so that is why we booked here. Of note: when I picked our dog up, the ADOGO staff people said the owner would call me. I picked up our dog on 12/25/15. Today is 4/15/16 and I never heard from the owner. I'm only posting this review on Yelp today because they had the nerve to email me and ask if I'd recommend my experience. Poor pet care and poor customer service. read more

this is for the Maple Grove location. Our dog went through the vetting process and was approved. We needed her to be out of the house while we underwent construction. Twice she developed kennel cough. Someone is not up on their vaccines and Adogo isn't doing anything about it. We would periodically watch the live camera to see what our dog was up to. There is absolutely no hands on by the Adogo staff. They don't pet the dogs, they don't comfort the dogs. They just stand there and watch the dogs get bored. If you have another option where you can take your dog, you should take it. Sickness and indifference rules the Maple Grove location. read more
