It has some cool local stores like Breezeway Deli and Little Grape.

I was delighted I found the Madonna Plaza, a mall with a great assortment of mid-level retail with a mix of moderately priced stores and restaurants. Ulta, Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, REI, DSW, Sprouts, Kohl's, See's Candies, Cost Plus World Market and more. I found everything I needed and was on my way in 40 minutes with takeaway Chipotle for my son.

Technically, this shopping center is probably more on the "strip mall" side as opposed to a real…read moremall, because here you can exercise your patriotic duty as an American by driving from one store to the other (even when they're right next to each other) instead of walking. There is a wide variety of both chain and local stores to choose from, such as a department store (Sears), a supermarket, a big-box bookstore (Borders), a local place called the Crushed Grape, Best Buy, and others. Basically, if you live in San Luis Obispo and need something, but prefer to avoid downtown because of the inconvenience of walking from one end to the other, this is the alternative for those who actually use a car in their daily lives and are not ashamed of it.

I wish I could end my review here... So we had to exchange one item. After Christmas one item didn't fit for my husband. Oh well, easy fix. Only an easy fix if the store is open. We tried two separate Sundays after 11 am, yet though the store indicated it was supposed to be open, it wasn't. The first time, we were bummed but ok, we will be back. Mind you this store is over a hour away from where we live. On our 2nd try, same result. And that's a head scratcher. So I sent an email to the email listed on the door. I must admit the owner was very quick and returning my letter. They acknowledge that they were closed on that Sunday, but there was some kind of a family issue. ‍. So we are still trying to exchange. Vintage band shirts galore. Not only fun cool clothing pieces, there's also figurines. It's literally like walking into a time capsules with all the video games I grew up with. The infamous pac man game right in the middle of the store. There's even a room in the back area that looks like you could just play video games. Plus loads of game for sale I believe. There were also loads of collectible pieces still in their original packaging. But the clothing, they were amazing. Browsing the rack was one treasure piece after another. Some of my most treasured decorations come from Return Engagement: a cow statue reading a book, a blue boho vase, a mushroom sculpture with succulents growing out if it. I love their location too, nestled in between a non-profit thrift store and a pawn shop. This little strip of stores often gets overlooked, which is a shame, they all have so many unique finds. ​
