A margin of error on their behalf that forced me to cancel the contract. Very frustrating. With the holidays around the corner, I yelped my around to find another counter company. The ones with higher rates were overpriced by hundreds of dollars for the Level # granite I was interested in. Rockville granite did not have a strong "Yelp" background, so I thought I would go to them directly. Yes, it was a family owned shop and it does not give the Corporate presence (who wants a customer service drone helping you anyways). They even have their little dog running around. I found that adorable being a dog owner myself and I enjoy supporting small local businesses. They were on point with their stone knowledge and were very accommodating with the shorten timeline. Their pricing was reasonable and their installation process was smooth. As for the other commentary of the installers not speaking English. I did not have a problem. The lessons here is to not rely 100% on the YELP reviews. If it wasn't for my old fashion, in person, approach I would have overpaid and would still be waiting for my counter's to be installed. I highly recommend them.

I was pretty satisfied with my overall experience with Granite Works. We went to their showroom…read moreand selected two granite remnants for our master bathroom and guest bathroom counter tops. Choosing remnants saved us some money. We choose the granite, then selected what type of sink we wanted (we chose rectangle) and if we needed a back splash. We wanted to replace three sink faucets with new Moen ones. Their plumber can install the faucets for $100 each. So, we decided to do that. After paying for everything, we walked over and made two appointments - one for them to measure and the other to install. Total time it took from the day we purchased it was two weeks. On the day of installation, the installers came during their time slot, and it was done in about one hour. The plumber came after the installers were done. Now, they should of told us to buy new water lines as their plumber doesn't have any. So, we had to drive to Home Depot while the plumber was installing the new faucets. I will choose them again when we decide to replace our kitchen counter tops.

We went to his location to pick out the quartz and waited for him to come out on Friday to do his measurements, so that on Saturday after the cabinets were installed the countertops would immediately follow, the appliance contractors could do their part, followed by the cabinet contractors completing the finishings. He was a NO CALL-NO SHOW. Now the appliance contractors have to reschedule a time to come out and install our appliances and the cabinet contractor has to find time to squeeze us in to finish this guys part and their own. We've gone without a sink for days and this guy has no remorse. UNDEPENDABLE, this one NO CALL - NO SHOW caused a two week delay.

High quality work and team - we would overall recommend Stone Garden based on our experience. Work…read moreincluded two wooden retaining walls and two rock-lined swales connected to an underground drainage pipe to manage rainwater run off on a steep hillside, as well as replacement of our main concrete-reinforced cinder block retaining wall. We initially contracted with Stone Garden for the rain management work in late spring. The work was fast - estimated at 1-2 weeks but done in 3 days! At one point they had 7 people on site. The working crew was very thoughtful - they helped us move daffodil bulbs disturbed by the construction, carefully cleaned up after the work, and even helped my husband move some bags of yard waste unrelated to their work. A torrential storm followed this first project, leading to the failure of our (pre-existing) main retaining wall. We turned to Stone Garden to replace it, upgrading with some additional drainage features and a brick facade. It was difficult to get the follow on work scheduled due to communication delays and a busy calendar of other projects. After two months the follow on work started. While the retaining wall was built fairly quickly it took another month for the masons to come finish the brick facade. I had other outdoor work scheduled and luckily we were able to deconflict it. Overall, the work is high quality, reasonably priced, and is holding up well. Sam and his team are skilled and professional. Just get scheduled early, the Stone Garden team is in high demand!

Top notch customer service and friendly staff!!…read more We did a complete house renovation and the kitchen renovation was almost completely off schedule when we couldn't get our regular team in to install our kitchen; but we found a new contractor and then came the counter top selection and install; we were looking at another 6 week wait with another company and our new contractor recommended Star aster another company quoted us an absolutely astronomical price for the same name brand counter!! My wife called ahead and we showed up to the show room, went to the back to pick a giant slab and look at a couple other pieces to make sure we had picked the one that would work best for us. It was a very simple and easy process. We went back inside to Isaac's office, completed the paperwork and were in an out quickly. They kept us up to date, cut our under mount sink hole, we're flexible with our installation date as we waited for our appliances to be delivered. The installation was great! Turns out one of the walls isn't straight (of course it isn't) but they quickly adjusted and made sure we had a flush fit and cut the holes for our faucet and soap dispenser. We are so happy to have found Star and will use them for any future projects (along with recommending them). I'm glad we didn't look at the reviews first or I probably would have overlooked them... so if your on the fence or looking for a counter company look no further!!

He promised a quote within a few days. A week went by, and he was still working on it. Then, after two weeks of waiting and requesting it again along the way of the wait, he became unresponsive. While Isaac presented as 100% professional, his being unresponsive despite previous promises is unprofessional and cost us much valuable time. If this is how proactive someone is before they have my money, I do not want to know how it would be after I drop money, and I am fully committed. I am sure Isaac/ Star Marble and Granite do great work, at least sometimes, but this sequence of events was unacceptable, despite him having many opportunities to respond via text and phone. If someone does not follow up when they say they will--that's a huge red flag to find a responsive contractor. I am very glad I did not work with Star Marble and Granite in retrospect, as I used IAP Home Improvements, and they did a superb job in every aspect and at a great price.

If you want them to clear the debris, they don't have a truck big enough to haul anything away - FYI. The deck was a disaster. I can't even describe what a horrible job they did there. The rails on the deck don't match the rails on the stairs. They bought the wrong size caps for the posts, so they "shaved" the tops down to fit. You can imagine how nice that looks. There were 7 post caps. Only 6 of them matched. Not sure why one of them was the wrong size and a completely different design, but this is an example of the lack of attention to detail. The rails are not level. The spindles are not flush and some of them aren't even attached. You can't run your hand along the handrail because they used screws which are visible (ugly) and splintered so it's not safe. They only did half the stairs because the other half were not storm damaged. The original risers are white. I couldn't paint the new ones white because they used two boards instead of one and horribly puttied them so having them white would just draw attention to how horrible this looks. They didn't sand anything so the blotchy putty is very visible and looks way worse than if they would have simply left the seam. They painted with a sprayer. There is paint splatter everywhere. The paint is uneven. I told them not to come that day because it was going to rain. They showed up anyway when I wasn't home and painted anyway. The next day 80% of it was washed off which made it more uneven and ugly. I was so disgusted with this that I ended up painting the rest myself, YET THEY STILL WANTED THE FULL FEE. The trim for the posts were made of this wood that is not trim. It's rough with big, fat screws sticking out instead of flush and clean. Clean up was a joke. There were all these little SKU tabs from the wood all over the yard. I also picked up no fewer than 40 screws from the grass. Seriously. Nothing matches the rest of my porch in craftsmanship, quality, style, or color. They were NEVER on time. Start to finish took 41 days. Communication was horrible. Every time I tried to talk to Mario about something, he just talked in circles, never answered a question, totally ignored my concerns, and just kept repeating himself. He complained that they weren't making money on the job and said he needed to have money now to pay his workers (even though the job wasn't done). This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had. I am having this all torn down and redone because it's so hideous that I cannot leave it up. Every time I look at it, I just cry. It's not at all professional and looks worse than if a toddler did it. And these guys are supposed to be professionals? Seriously? I didn't bother to hound them to fix it because they don't have the skill. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I hired them because I know what it's like to be self-employed and I wanted to support a small business and got burned.
