I always enjoy staying at this San Gabriel location. This is my fourth time. My friends and I are…read moreon a foodie road trip of mainly Asian food. My friends have been er been here, so I felt this was the best location especially since one of us is Chinese from Malaysia. It was nice because I was able to park at the Hilton honors spaces when available. At check in, Vincent was soft spoken, and courteous. He made sure my room was feather free as requested due to my asthma. Our room was ready when we arrived. Great since we were hungry, and we could drop off our luggage in the room before heading out. I always check round with my blacklight to see the cleanliness of a room. But the only reason I didn't give a five star this time was before I even checked with my blacklight, the curtains were open, and we saw dust caked on the dresser, lamp stand, and too of headboards. Unacceptable since two of my friends have allergies, and as an asthmatic I am allergic to three different dust mites. I called Vincent at the front desk and he immediately sent someone up. Now the train I have a four star and not a there is because of Linda from housekeeping. She said she understands because she has brothers who are asthmatic. When she saw how dusty the room was she also was appalled by the condition. Linda did a great job. Although we left a small to in the room for whoever will be cleaning next, we left something extra for Linda at the front desk. That being said the bathrooms were clean. Beddings clean but bed a little too hard for my liking. The other gals told me it was fine for them. We were going to try their dim sum restaurant downstairs, but we were pretty dim summed out, so we tried something different nearby.

I got room 615 and it feels like there's two attic in the room. One in the bathroom and one in the door way. The door looks nasty like the paint is chipping off. And the bathtub wall is chipped.

Clean room, decent location, prices competitive, neighborhood seems safe, lots of free amenities,…read moresuch as the breakfast and coffee, and lounge areas. The heat worked well, wasn't too noisy, shower hot, bathroom clean, no noise from other guests, so slept well. It rained, so did not use the pool, but it seemed fine. Lots of good shopping and coffee shops nearby, sense of community as well. I would stay again as they seem well run and friendly. There are a couple of minor things that I feel are worth mentioning. 1. The breakfast areas requires you to walk around the pool, which because it was raining was awkward. Normally in California (it never rains in Southern California ; ), this would be good, so not a big deal. 2. There were folks several times at the pavilion in the back corner "partaking", and I could smell it, especially when I had to park next to it. "Do what you want, just don't involve me." 3. I had parking anxiety as it was warned that the lot could fill up, but it was fine.

They proceeded to handle my luggage and direct me to the check-in. The lobby was ravishing, plastered with beautiful crowning and a centerpiece of the most radiant lilies. I was able to check in quickly, the attendant had a hospitable attitude and was very polite. The moment I stepped into my room, I could smell the fresh lingering scent of linen, and dust was nowhere to be seen. The bathroom floors sparkled, and the marble was smooth and cool on my feet. Couldn't have slept any better than I did in this deluxe patio room. The view outside was magnificent, and my morning coffees tasted one hundred times better than any restaurant I've had. The teahouse restaurant was luxurious, with the most delicious jasmine tea and scrumptious blueberry scones. The chicken sandwich was served on a beautiful plate and tasted delectable. I truly have no single complaints, I couldn't have had a better stay anywhere else. This location blows any other hotel in the Los Angeles area out of the water. 1000/10, cannot go wrong here.

Also when the server brought out the food, my mom was like is that all vegetarian and got confused. The server confirmed it was..obviously it wasn't because we were sharing so I clarified and the server responded like I was dumb for asking lol. Our main server Luisa (hope I got her name right) was absolutely great! She was so lovely and truly the best
