From wind chimes, electronics & lightbulbs, to furniture, knick-knacks, candy, and cookware, this shop has it all. But now, it's near and dear to my heart, not just for the rustic decor and furniture that have graced our family camp's interior for years... But because of the books... Old Forge Hardware's vast bookstore is hands down the largest and broadest in genre scope for 100 miles, stocked to the stacks with ADK history, Art, how-to books, true crime, kids' books, adult fantasy & my favorite: HORROR. This place simply put, is FANTASTIC.

OH BOY is it a place for rustic furniture and furnishing - the place is huge and stuffed!!! You have to walk through twice because you're going to miss a lot of cool things on the walls or ceiling. We purchased two sofa tables for our foyer - and they look terrific in their new home. We'll be going back next year for some rustic hickory bedroom furniture - we're just going to have to take a bigger truck!! The folks working there were exceptionally nice to us, they took the time to answer many questions and never rushed us - we had to be there for 90 minutes or more. I also don't believe the furniture is particularly expensive - I build furniture in my home shop and I would be reluctant to sell a chest of drawers (for example) at the prices that they're selling it for. Some people forget that it takes time to build stuff and businesses need to turn a profit I guess. I think the quality of the furniture is better than average - solid, good hardware (e.g. drawer slides), nicely proportioned, and often pretty unique - our future bedroom furniture just clicked with us. We're going back for a lot more next summer!!! Can't wait!!

David is the consummate professional and his company reflects his understanding of customer service. We purchased a kitchen table and chair set from David and it was delivered on time and in excellent shape. After only a few weeks the table began to break down, some sort of manufacturer defect. David was most gracious in arranging the ordering of and the delivery of the replacement table. When it came time for us to order a new platform bed, we knew that the only place we wanted to do business with was Livingston's Inc. DBA Livingston's Furniture. We went in on a Sunday and while David was not there, his sales staff was most pleasant and reflected the level of customer service we had come to expect from David. As always, the price was more than fair and the salesman agreed to haul away our old box spring and bed frame for a nominal fee (again, more than reasonable). The delivery was terrific once more. We live in a house built in the 1870's and getting deliveries in and out of the house is not easy. Further, we live downstairs from the main level and communicating where we live and how to get into the house is difficult. The driver was courteous and expertly assembled the bed in a matter of minutes, then hauled the old (badly damaged) box spring from old stone storage room. We love supporting small businesses and I encourage all Fulton-Montgomery area residents to support David Livingston and his family's business that has been serving our communities since 1901. Thank you David and team for another great experience!
