This is the kind of shop that only exists in a place like Wells.
There are no hours of operation. It's run by George. He's about 90, and if you walk by in the summertime, he might be in the garage ready to sell you something. If not, you can call the phone number, or ask his wife (of about 70 years) if she's seen him. Usually, she has.
George does custom woodwork, by which I mean he makes the most beautiful Adirondack chairs, rocking chairs, bird houses, butterfly houses, coat racks, and more. He's the man. You're getting quality workmanship, and anything here would make a good present for just about anyone who lives in the area, especially your wife's grandmother that lives down the street.
Cash or check only. But if you write this man a check and it bounces, I'm going to find you. read more
