Last summer, I truly needed a pair of sandals because my old Birkenstocks sandals that I was wearing were falling apart. I ended up getting two pairs of sandals thanks to a buy-one-get-another-at-half-price deal in Ottawa. This store also had the same deal. My guess is that this sale happens every summer. I decided to browse and see if there was anything that I liked. This store had a pair of lilac sandals that I liked. It was nice and had a backstrap, but it wasn't in my size. I saw a pair of sneakers with glittery shoelaces. So pretty! It was my first time seeing caps at any Skechers store. They looked like they were for kids. The cat one with little ears was cute. This store also had clothing if you want a change of pace. There were casual and athleisure styles to choose from. I didn't find anything that I wanted, but I did enjoy browsing around. Maybe when I'm back in town, I'll return and find something that I need and like from this store. (294)

I love SoftMoc for a number of reasons. I like that it has women's size 11 shoes. If I can't find…read moreshoes in my size at my local store, I can either have the store find the right size at another location and ship the shoes to the store, or I can order them online, and choose whether I want to pick them up at my local store or have them delivered anywhere in Canada. I saw this store at St. Vital Mall. I don't ever remember dropping by any SoftMoc store in Winnipeg, so i had to drop by to check it out. As convenient as it is to buy shoes online, going into a store and physically looking at shoes is a completely different experience. Take Doc Martens sandals, for instance. I owned a pair a couple of decades ago. They were leather and heavy. I looked at those at the store. On the contrary, the sandals were lightweight and had vegan options. Seeing and holding one of the sandals persuaded me to get a pair once I returned home. This store had a good selection of Adidas sneakers. SoftMoc also carries its own line of shoes. I dig their sandals. They are comfortable and many have a backstrap that I like. Without a backstrap, wearing sandals are like projectiles on my feet. You've been warn if I am walking towards you and I lose a slide. This store has the best selection of Crocs. I saw everything from shimmery ones to platforms ones. I saw a display of Grogu Jibbitz that allow you to decorate your Crocs. There were samples. I was trying to find some to buy when a friendly male staffer asked if I needed any help. Perfect timing! I asked if he had any Star Wars Jibbitz. He said that I could find them in the display on the right. He went one step further and found the exact set in his stock behind the counter. Nice! Jibbitz aren't cheap, as five of these Star Wars ones was $25. However, it i worth getting two Grogu Jibbitz in the set. He asked for my phone number associated with my SoftMocs rewards account. I rattled it off and he found me in the system. The rewards system is great. I had enough points last year to get a pair of Uggs sandals for free when I redeemed my points. I paid for my Jibbitz with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. He asked if I needed a bag. I was fine with the one that I had with me and placed the Jibbitz in it. I thanked him and left with my purchase. My Crocs do look cute with Grogu on them. It's fun decorating Crocs. I had a great experience at this store. Customer service was stellar and I loved what I had purchased. (287)

Tip: Sign up for Torrid rewards to get discounts towards purchases and more…read more I have flagged visiting this Torrid store at Collection Outlet Winnipeg within the past year. I like that this chain has graphic t-shirts and larger shoe sizes. Torrid accommodates curvy women, which I appreciate. I don't exactly fit the demographic perfectly, but I can manage to wear clothing on the smaller side of the sizing scale. It's cool. I do like options. This store was clean and bright. There were deals everywhere. The best deals were in the back left of the store. I managed to find a pair of cargo pants that were regularly $109, but were reduced to $30. They looked like they would fit me. I wasn't sure because I had never bought pants here. I needed to find a fitting room. I headed to the checkout area and asked a female staffer if I could try them on. She was friendly, said yes, and led me to a fitting room by unlocking the door. These pants fit perfectly. The length and inseam were great. I could breathe in them. Yay! I looked around and liked a cardigan. It was lightweight, but Winnipeg was going through a heatwave outside that I couldn't look at any clothing for Fall. I found the graphic t-shirts. I liked the Care Bears one. Nothing truly screamed at me. It probably means that I'm content with my wardrobe. I found my sneakers that I had bought almost a year ago. They are so comfortable. It was one of my favourite purchases from this chain. I headed to the checkout area. It took a while for the nice woman to return. She was helping another person unlock a fitting room. I wasn't in a rush. It allowed me to look at the earring sets. I love them. They are comfortable and the designs are cute. I recommend signing up for Torrid rewards. I got an additional $10 off my purchase when I was here. My pair of cargo pants were $20 after all the discounts. Yay! The best way for the staffer to find your rewards account is to provide your phone number. Easy peasy! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and I was done. She put my item in a paper bag with handles. I thanked her and happily left with my purchase. I'm pleased with my new cargo pants and the price that I paid for them. I loved shopping here. I hope to return the next time I'm at the outlet. There was lots of parking. I backed into a spot and walked in. What stands out is a decent number of Kipling bags. I didn't need any, but they had smaller ones at this store. Finding them made me happy. The housewares section was also enjoyable to browse. I liked everything from silicone ice cube trays, to glass drinkware. The shoe department was great. The selection of women's size 11 shoes made me happy. I liked the sneakers. In the men's section, it had Airwalk sneakers. I hadn't seen those in ages! Before I left, I had to check out the phone accessories section. I like getting PopSockets at reasonable prices. This store had some styles that I had never seen before. I also saw my first MagSafe charger at any Winners store. It was exciting to me spotting a technology unicorn. I enjoyed browsing around. I'd return again when I'm in the area. Maybe I'll find something that I end up purchasing next time. (288)

I spotted this Old Navy Outlet at Outlet Collection Winnipeg. I had to check it out…read more This store had a lot of good deals happening. I found a lone pair of sandals that I liked, but they were only in a size 8. I like cargo pants. It's likely because I like pockets. I'd rather have more than none. This store had many styles, from wide-leg to chino pants. My favourite section was the clearance section at the back. I spotted a cute t-shirt with little watermelon slices at the front of the store. It was the only one, but not in my size. I found the same t-shirt in the clearance section in my size for $5. One word: mine! Canada Day had just past. Sweaters and other articles from this holiday were also at reduced prices. It was so hot in Winnipeg that the thought of trying on a sweater made me instantly sweat. I headed to the checkout area. I got a female staffer who was cheerful and pleasant. I entered my phone number associated with GAP rewards. I had a bit of a discount, but decided to let it blossom some more. I paid for my dirt-cheap t-shirt with a debit card. Done! She gave me a paper bag with handles, which I used for my entire shopping time at this outlet mall. I thanked her and left. I have a small fruit-themed t-shirt collection. I got a cherries one from a GAP outlet in Ajax over a year ago. This watermelon t-shirt now keeps my cherries one company. I love it. it's soft and fits nicely. It's a decent Old Navy outlet with great prices. I was thrilled with my purchase. I'd return again when I'm back in the city. (292)

Winter wear shopping today!…read more Found everything at Sport Chek. Excellent quality winter wear, Lots of jackets for adults and kids. From dressy (but dressy sporty) to very sporty, and almost an overwhelming selection of mittens, gloves, hats, toques, and neck warmers/face shields. I found a GORGEOUS pair of mitts, but they were a little pricey -- $99, so out of my league. ;) They were ski gloves, so if I was a skier I could probably find a way to justify the expense..but I chose my second fave mitts which were about $35. If you know Sport Chek, you'll know they provide gear and clothing for just about every sport. I love the selection, the brand names and the fantastic customer service. Sales staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the store and its merchandise.

These folks keep me in clothes. Their jeans wear longer than Levis and are a not nearly the price of the red tab variety. I love the t-shirts and pick up several every time I go back. They have drifted towards some fashion wear in the last couple years but the standards can still be found. I like this store since it is easy to get to and it is impressive in size. If you arrive in early enough and impress her with your "I am Canadian but live in Scotland" spiel, you can sometimes turn her into your own personal shopper. Get her to find you the right size trousers and such. It make things easier than searching through the massive stacks of jeans yourself.
