My biggest frustration was that 3 of the 4 workers were visiting and talking when this cashier clearly needed assistance and help. 2 of the workers had a ton of time to follow me around the store, why couldn't they stay close when it was time to pay. This company falsely advertises boots they don't have online (while advertising to be the premier…read moretactical gear supplier in Canada), they will even allow you to "buy" them and send you a confirmation but then claim they don't have them anymore and offer you a boot of less value without giving you back the difference. When I called to inquire how they could advertise and sell online a boot then claim not to have it, they responded by saying the website was not up to date (odd claim for a company that markets themselves as the "Premier" tactical supplier in Canada). Further to that, a "Supervisor" said that no money had been withdrawn from my account as part of the sale due to the order being on hold (which didn't make much sense to me and the gentlemen gave me the impression he just wanted to get off an uncomfortable call for him). You can imagine my surprise after checking my online banking and it turning out that the "supervisor" was in fact incorrect. They advertise "exceptional service" which is hilarious as there is nothing professional about their conduct or service. This company should have done the right thing and sourced the boots they sold me from somewhere else even it at cost to them. This is what happens when companies advertise falsely and lie to draw customers into their sales pipeline. Disgustingly predatory sales practices from a company that purports to asset and equip Law Enforcement and Armed Forces.

I love this place!…read more I find staff is friendly and knowledgeable in their departments and they will make sure that you are fully helped before assisting someone else. I frequent the gun/hunting and fishing sections when I go and it's always been an excellent experience. Hours there have changed for the better or back to the original hours (depending how you want to view it) so they open at 9am again. Always a good thing to visit the bargain cave when your here, there are some good gems in there from time to time.

Great place to find clothes, packs, travel gear, accessories for camping, general travel, sports…read moreetc. The staff are really friendly and helpful especially the staff in the packs section. They help you figure out the best pack for your body size, usage, etc...and they fit you too. I found that their travel accessories are definitely cheaper than other travel shops around the city. Also, a decent bike accessory section. They generally carry their own MEC clothing line so you won't likely find the more recognizable outdoor brand names here. Since it's a co-op, you just need to sign up as a member for $5 (lifetime membership) but like most places you can just use your phone number instead of carrying their card around. The one thing that sucks about this place is the lack of parking! It's located on Portage and Donald so it's only limited to street (meter) parking. And there's no street parking allowed in that area between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm weekdays. I saw a banner that allows free 1 hour parking if you buy more than $10 worth of stuff at an Impark lot somewhere on Smith. Not sure which lot that is but obviously I didn't spot that sign until after I circled this place for 10 mins!

I found a lone pair of sandals that I liked, but they were only in a size 8. I like cargo pants. It's likely because I like pockets. I'd rather have more than none. This store had many styles, from wide-leg to chino pants. My favourite section was the clearance section at the back. I spotted a cute t-shirt with little watermelon slices at the front of the store. It was the only one, but not in my size. I found the same t-shirt in the clearance section in my size for $5. One word: mine! Canada Day had just past. Sweaters and other articles from this holiday were also at reduced prices. It was so hot in Winnipeg that the thought of trying on a sweater made me instantly sweat. I headed to the checkout area. I got a female staffer who was cheerful and pleasant. I entered my phone number associated with GAP rewards. I had a bit of a discount, but decided to let it blossom some more. I paid for my dirt-cheap t-shirt with a debit card. Done! She gave me a paper bag with handles, which I used for my entire shopping time at this outlet mall. I thanked her and left. I have a small fruit-themed t-shirt collection. I got a cherries one from a GAP outlet in Ajax over a year ago. This watermelon t-shirt now keeps my cherries one company. I love it. it's soft and fits nicely. It's a decent Old Navy outlet with great prices. I was thrilled with my purchase. I'd return again when I'm back in the city. (292)
