I had an appointment on Friday, December 5th, 2025. Today is December 9th. This week , I am calling to dr.office. No one call me back and tell me about what to do with some abnormal results in my lab test, no recommendations, no suggestions absolutely nothing. Also, I need a referral for screening CT , no body bother sending this referral to the hospital. Very disappointed!!! when you call to practice people very unpleasant on the phone , talking very disrespectful. Do not recommend this place, it used to be very good 12 years ago. read more

I stopped going here after they lost track of my paperwork twice and didn't do the correct lab tests. My first visit was positive and after intake lab tests, they started me on medication for cholesterol. I went back after 6 months for followup lab tests to see how it was working. But they didn't even test for cholesterol -- instead they ran a bunch of other random labs that I didn't need that were a repeat of the first round. If they had apologized and made up for it, fine, but Dr Tran tried to tell me that I should have asked for the test specifically. Um, dude, you're the doctor, you're supposed to order the right tests. I later saw a cardiologist who looked at the first round and said I didn't even need to be on the cholesterol medication (statin). Reading other reviews, seems like they might have a financial strategy of over-diagnosing. Also major communication issues between the drs and their own in-house lab. read more

RE: My attempt to become a patient at your facility to be seen by you. Dear Dr. Murphy I am writing to you to share with you that it is a large disappointment that your staff, and specifically your office manager who called me, refused to provide me the reasonable common courtesy which I provided to your group. My Doctor in Southlake is retired, and I searched my insurance for a new Doctor and found/selected you. I called your office and asked your staff to email me any documents I need to populate and return to your group before I make an appointment as I don't want to be fiddling with document upon my first visit (and I do not use electronic signatures for my healthcare). Your office provided me the documents. Once I populated the documents, scanned them into a file and emailed them back to your office at the email address which I received them from (AIM@addisoninternalmedicine.com), I wrote in the email to "Let me know if I have satisfied the qualification process". The next day the same email address asked me to call the office and schedule an appointment. I replied, "In order for me to take the next step, I would need you to email me stating the following "Your forms are all in order with nothing outstanding"... "Once I receive that reply, I can move forward". Over a week later, I had still heard nothing, so I emailed back requesting if someone will email me that the forms I sent were completed so I can make an appointment... The receptionist (or scheduler) called and said she spoke with the office manager and the office manager told her that the email is not secure and would be a HIPPA violation to do as I asked. I replied to her that replying to my email with "your forms are received and completed" has nothing to do with any HIPPA confidential information whatsoever and I cannot understand why this is such an issue for your group. She said she would convey that to the office manager. The next day or so the office manager called me, and the short version of our conversation was she told me she received the forms so would I like to make an appointment. I said to her "yes, as soon as you send me an email stating that". In short, she refused to email me the reply/confirmation and asked me why is this an issue for me. I told her, like your office and office policies, I like to have a paper trail of confirmation of what I have done especially when it comes to insurance and Doctor visits, and I did not understand why she was being so positional on this. She ended the conversation with "it seems that we have struggles out of the gate and she thinks it better if I go somewhere else". Dr. Murphy, I am shocked that this person is so cavalier and selfish to not consider anything else (my needs, your need for patients, your facility economics, etc.) other than her apparent GOD rights! For what its worth, I took time to search CIGNA's site for you. Call your office and ask for the documents. Fill out a number of documents your group wanted. Scan and send them back all because that is what your group wanted. That said, I asked for one small thing and your office manager unilaterally shuts me down for no reason whatsoever and now I have to spend my time doing more research finding another Doctor! I have done nothing wrong and her actions are all uncalled for and I do not appreciate it. Before I elect to sit down and begin an effective electronic "Review" of my experience with Addison Internal Medicine (AIM) campaign, I will give AIM until October 3rd to have this person email me with an apology and that my "documents have been received". Shortly thereafter, I will then make an appointment and put this nonsense behind me. I trust this is a fair and reasonable request and I look forward to you implementing my request which should result in a favorable outcome. read more

Sketchy business practices...would not recommend. Showed for a routine wellness exam (and I made this quite clear to the office), but the provider ended up ordering NON-ROUTINE bloodwork that is not covered under the ACA without informing me of this. I found out about this by receiving an outstanding bill for the labwork. (I confirmed with an insurance expert that the labs ordered were indeed not considered "routine" under the ACA.) Furthermore, each time I called the office to work through the issue, the agents were quite belligerent/unsympathetic, and they were speaking to me in a condescending tone, as if I were born yesterday. As a customer service expert myself, I found this quite shocking to be honest, and it was angering. Makes me wonder why they chose to describe themselves as "compassionate" on the home page of their website... read more

Addison Internal Medicine (aka Dr Nguyen and Dr. Ton-That formerly at Medical City Hospital in Dallas) are fantastic! They are incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and take the time to build rapport and make sure your questions are addressed. This is their new office as they've been here since 8/13 when they started the new practice with Dr. Shaun Murphy. I've primarily gone to Dr Nguyen for 5-6 years, but have also seen Dr Ton-That many times and both are exceptional. Their staff is well trained and do a good job keeping things moving in a professional and relaxed atmosphere. Parking tip: drive around the building away from the toll-road to the other side as their office is only accessible from the outside. Otherwise you'll be walking around aimlessly like I did the first time. read more

Down here in Houston we may have the best hospital system in the world with some great doctors but the support staff is horrible at most of the doctors' offices I've been to. I moved to Dallas and needed a PCP around 2000 and found Dr. Nguyen. I wondered if he was a bad doctor because as soon as I got there I was ushered into a room and seen within a few minutes. He wasn't bad he just had a staff that scheduled properly. In Houston, I was used to waiting 1+ hours and the waiting rooms were filled. I moved back to Houston in '08 and would rather drive to Addison to see Dr. Nguyen than spend most of my day in a Houston waiting room waiting to see a doctor. He has never been wrong with a medical diagnosis yet. His advice is pretty much spot-on. read more

I've seen doctor Tran for a couple years now. He's in tune with you & listens to you, answers questions. The staff is always accommodating and so friendly. Getting lab work done is a breeze, as the lab is in house. The overall doctor visit is a great experience. In addition, I've had televisit appointments that were easy & efficient. Yesterday I saw Kathryn Davis, PA-C. I'm still in awe over that appointment. She's basically everything you would ever want in a doctor. Compassionate, intelligent, empathetic, uplifting, and brings the latest education on studies & results for an array of topics. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her in the future. I'm not sure why people review doctors on yelp, but it seems like it's become a thing and most people only do it when they have a complaint. I'm one of those people who avoids the doctor because it seems like a painful process. There's the calling and then the waiting to get in and then the waiting when you get there and the surly help. Yuck. So I was happy to find this place and select them as my PCP. Online scheduling. An efficient office. Friendly & knowledgeable people. And prescriptions automatically sent to the pharmacy so I don't have to wait. Perfect experience. read more

I moved to DFW during the middle of the pandemic and didn't find a PCP for a while. So it was great to find one who was so personable and helpful. A lot of doctors make you feel like they're rushing you but Dr. Ton and his staff didn't make me feel that way once. Would most definitely recommend! read more

I HATE THIS PLACE, for several reasons!! I've called to speak to my provider Yuen Ngyuen months ago, I was practically interrogated and still didn't get a call back. I made an appt on zocdoc and apparently ALL of the information regarding appts is inaccurate. This office is the worst when it comes to personal interaction. I went to see this provider because I woke up with blood in my mouth in the morning. The person that saw me was not this doctor, it someone else(Sonyta)who was not a doctor. She was a Physician Assistant (not a Medical Doctor) The Assistant took an x-ray of my chest and concluded I had bronchitis. I had no other symptoms but the blood in my mouth. She prescribed me Methylprednisolone and an inhaler. The assistant also give me a skin test for TB. I later went to see an oral surgeon. After looking inside my mouth, the oral surgeon concluded that the blood in my mouth was coming from an infected wisdom tooth. I informed the oral surgeon that I was diagnosed with bronchitis and was prescribed medication to treat it. The oral surgeon was surprised that I was diagnosed with bronchitis and was even given medication since I did not show any symptoms. After my visit I decided it was not in my best health interest to take such invasive medicine. After two days, I went back to see the assistant to see the result of the TB skin test. The assistant concluded I was positive for TB and that I needed to register with the county health department. She didn't ask me about any symptoms or if I had the vaccination when I was younger. My husband and I demanded a blood test because we were not confident in her diagnosis. The blood test for TB was negative! Needless to say, the assistant was wrong about the TB diagnosis and more than likely the bronchitis as well. It's been over a week since the bronchitis diagnosis and I still do not show any symptoms. Thankfully I chose to not heed her advice. It's insanely dangerous for someone like this health professional to be able to prescribe medication to patients. read more

I've been going to this practice for a couple years. Although I initially had a positive perspective, it has become tainted over the last year. I have had multiple instances where Dr. Tran ordered tests, and then failed to review them/notify me of results. The first time it wasn't until several weeks afterward when I called to check, that they finally released the results to their online portal. Most recently the interval was 3 months, and it wasn't until I refused to pay the bill that they actually reviewed/released the results. I also had a recent experience where I was exposed to a highly contagious disease, with a fairly simple, safe treatment. Rather than testing and then proactively prescribing the treatment, they insisted I wait for the results of the tests (and of course over the weekend I began suffering some of the symptoms). This is NOT the standard of care I have received from other physicians. I understand waiting on treatment when the treatment has potential risks, but in this case it was an antibiotic I have had multiple times. Note the lab personnel have ALWAYS been friendly and very good at their job. read more

This is a wonderful practice. Trust is a great thing and these doctors and the nursing staff, have earned it and help you with any ailment or regular physicals. They are are GREAT and personable! Communication prior to visit is an A+, ease of getting an appointment is an A+, visits are calm and welcoming, prescriptions are sent quickly and are spot on. My doctor used to be a part of Medical City off of Forest Lane, but since then, he has moved and joined an internal medicine group in Addison. Dr Tri Nguyen is an excellent doctor and a graduate of UT Southwestern. I have gone to him for almost everything you can imagine for the past four years, but mainly for my annual physical. He always will take the time to go over any issues with you. He has a lot of loyal patients. To give you an idea, I meet one of his other patients in the hallway waiting to get labs done, and he told me he drove all the way up from Houston just to have Dr Nguyen do his physical. That's nuts. The location is off the Tollway next to the hospital in the professional building on the back side, which was neat because its direct access without going into the main building itself. They are usually pretty prompt about getting you in. I usually do not wait more then 5 to 10 minutes. Staff is friendly. My only complaint because its my first time at the new location is the lab lady. She is SUPER SLOW. Made me and the other guys wait 10 minutes before she called him in. Then it took her 20 minutes to draw blood from the guy. She could tell I was pissed when I came in so she took my blood... I was in and out of that lab within 5 minutes. I don't know if she realizes that some of us work on Mondays too... In any case, love my doc, love the front office staff, love the location... hate the phlebotomist. but you know, I don't think anyone ever likes the phlebotomist because they stab you with that needle all the time. :) read more

I am being discriminated against by Addison Internal Medicine. I have BCBS insurance through my university because I am a graduate student. When I called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist was extremely rude. I told her that I had BCBS insurance. She then asked if it was through my company. I told her that it was through my university, but that it is the SAME EXACT insurance. She rudely told me that they do not accept student insurance. I called the Billing Department and the lady told me that they are discriminating because I am a student. They should take my insurance, but they are refusing because they don't get as much money. read more

Let me start by saying, I have never been one to enjoy going to the Dr. but I MUST SAY Dr. Uyen Nguyen is the absolute BEST. She is very thorough and actually cares. I am a grown woman but tend to still be nerved when coming to the Dr. Not here. When I walk in after a year, she still remembers me and if ever i have called to ask a question, they are all very responsive. I cant say enough great things about this place. I recently had a procedure done in January 2022 with deductible paid, and no pay due to insurance (confirmed with BCBS). The office staff (office manager Christie) insisted I pay $300 up front. Said I would get reimburse as soon as BCBS paid. BSBS insurance was confused why they made me pay when I didn't owe them anything!! I have had this same procedure here for many years without any down payment and deductible paid. I waited 6 months after many unpleasant calls before I finally was reimbursed, after monthly calls telling them they filed with insurance incorrectly...billing should know how to do their job, not me having to give them the details of what to send to insurance!! Christie (office manager) and billing department were extremely rude thru the whole process!! Dr Tran, Dr Ton and Sarah PA are the best...if not for them I would go elsewhere. I've been a patient here for 10 years and being put thru this billing trauma this year is unacceptable!! My partner has also been a patient here for many years, and just recently rude Christie/office manager hung up the phone on him discussing billing issues!! Dr Tri Nguyen and his PA Dr Nguyen are amazing doctors and go over and above for their patients. I give the doctors 10 stars. Dr Nguyen and his PA take the time to listen to you . They don't rush out to the next Patient. My Daughter passed away 7 years ago and I called the office to see Dr Nguyen because I was a mess . Dr Nguyen wasn't in but they found him and I was told to come see him immediately. He has help me for several years to deal with the loss of my daughter. When I have family come to the office with me he always goes to the waiting room to talk to them. He's just amazing and very honest with me about my health . His PA her name is also Dr Nguyen and I see her more then him. She makes me laugh and is always smiling. She also listens to all my problems and family stories . The 2 are the best out here. I highly recommend Addison Interernal Medicine . I have been seeing Dr Nguyen since his days at Medical City. read more

Scheduled an appointment here and was really excited to build a relationship with an internal medicine doctor close to home. I have been suffering lower back pain and really needed some insight on what the problem could be. Was told that I would not receive an x-ray and that an x-ray wouldn't really tell me anything! I was prescribed a pain killer with no follow up on a recommendation to a spine specialist. I eventually scheduled an appointment with Texas Spine Consultants within the same building, X-ray complete and was told 2 of my lower discs are completely out of whack (Lower Lumbar) and that I wound need physical therapy. I'm 30 years old..I have no reason to want pain killers as an alternate solution when clearly I have an injury! I cringe to wonder if I'm the only one who has experienced this with a healthcare provider. read more

The office administrators didn't seem to know quite what they were doing and attempted to ask me to help them file insurance-related billing and/or diagnostic codes as if I were somehow obliged to and expected to know and to do their job for them. It's as if they felt rightfully entitled to solicit me into committing insurance fraud. I certainly did not oblige. I didn't, and I do not know how to do their job better than they do, themselves. I'm not sure what they ended up doing in the end with my billing, but I, as a patient, was not at all comfortable being part of a process that was never meant to include the patient/customer, as it's just supposed to be between the insurance company and the physician's practice filing the claims. Additionally, I have informed the relevant law enforcement agencies that this business is attempting to commit health insurance fraud so I'm sure that agency will be in contact with this practice fairly soon, if not already. I also had a few issues working with the F.N.P. I was assigned, as she needed to ask the doctor about almost every update that needed to be made regarding my treatment plan and medications. I would've preferred to speak with Dr. Murphy directly, and in that way, help the process move about more efficiently. read more

Helping me stay focused and understand people fall off track from time to time. His approach is rare these days in medicine. I have now seen Dr Murphy and Sarah, PA-C, at this practice and both were incredible providers. As long as they take my insurance I won't go to another office. Sarah spent more time in the room with me than any provider has before, answered all of my questions, and gave me a most thorough treatment plan. I can't recommend Sarah or Dr Murphy high enough. I have been visiting my doctor here since the move from Medical City (he was my doctor there-since 2005). The staff is great. Dr. Nguyen is the absolute best doctor I've had in my 65 years of living. Dr. Ton has been my doctor for over 8 years and I honestly cant imagine myself with anybody else. The second I walk into the office, I am immediately greated with some of the most friendliest front office staff. I am have never experienced a stressful time there while coming in for an appointment. All of the staffmembers working at Addison Internal has ALWAYS made me feel comfortable and safe while waiting for our "names to be called." Sometimes while waiting for my name to be called, it can create anxiety lol. I'm so glad the office is no more than 15 minutes away from my house. Overall, Dr.Ton has been my physican for over 8 years and that can already give you an impression about how much he cares for every patient. I highly recommend him as your PCP! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Tri Nguyen since 2004 or 2005. He is absolutely the best. I tell everyone I know to see him. His nurse, Elizabeth, is fantastic and very reliable when I call and need to get a message to the Dr. She always calls back same day even if it means staying after 5 p.m. Dr. Nguyen takes time to get to know his patients so we don't just feel like a number. I've also seen the PA several times and the friends I've referred have seen her too. She is also fantastic! If you are a new patient and they say there is a wait to see Dr. Nguyen, there's a reason there is a wait. He has alot of patients and it's well worth the wait to get an appointment. In the meantime, if you have an illness, the PA is wonderful and works in the same office as the Dr. so you get the best level of care. I will always be a patient of Dr. Nguyen. read more

I've been trying to find a decent doctor in this area. I haven't had much luck I till I came here. They are busy but see you right away. They have a blood lab right in the office so you can get everything done quickly. Dr. Murphy is a great doctor. So is Dr. Tran. Go see them. They will take excellent care of you! If you like paying for a doctor and seeing a PA instead, this is the place to go. In 3 years with this office, I have seen Dr. Tri Nguyen 2 times (for my annual physicals that were scheduled more than a month in advance). Over that time, I called for sick appointments probably around 8-10 times, and was never able to get an appointment with Dr. Tri Nguyen, however the PA seems to be available at all times. Most of the time, I passed on the PA appointment and instead visit my local Urgent Care so I could see a real doctor. But a couple months ago, I went in to see Uyen Nguyen, PA. She said "it doesn't look like the flu but let's check for it anyway" and I agreed. The flu test came back negative and she prescribed antibiotics. After 2 days, my symptoms did not go away and I had to get a different antibiotic prescription while I was out of town. This was billed as a "Level 3" visit (plus the two charges for the flu tests). I am fine with the flu test charges because I said during the visit that I was fine with the test. However, the level 3 visit billed at $248 is ridiculous! For a PA! For getting misdiagnosed! I called them about this matter 3 times, but never heard back. I was willing to pay what I would have paid at an Urgent Care, but the office was not willing to budge. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (Complaint ID#: 91493150), but the business did not respond within the 22 day timeframe so the complaint was closed as Unanswered. As far as I can tell, Dr. Tri Nguyen is a good doctor. But good luck getting an appointment with him. You will be better off going to an Urgent Care and seeing an M.D. than overpaying to see Uyen Nguyen, PA, which is about the only sick appointment you will get at this place. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Tran and I visit the Carrollton location. I am very happy with Dr. Tran. The office personnel at both locations, Addison and Carrollton, are always friendly. I've never had a problem getting messages to Dr. Tran. All of my phone questions/requests are taken care of either the same day if I call by early afternoon. If I call late in the afternoon, someone gets back to me the following morning. I've never had to wait long periods of time in the waiting room or in the exam room. Appointments are always available in a timely manner at either location. I can see Dr. Tran at both locations. There is also a laboratory on site. Both offices are very neat and clean. When the COVID pandemic started, office visits did have to be rescheduled. However, I was able to have a Televisit with Dr. Tran. The appointment started at the time it was scheduled for and was no different than an office visit. He took his time and successfully diagnosed my issue, called in a script and told me to call if I didn't feel better in few days. This was my first Telavisits and it's pretty awesome, convenient and quick. I'm glad this option is available. It allows me to see my personal PCP no matter the circumstances. Dr. Tran is very knowledgeable and patient. I've never felt rushed or left confused about anything we discussed. I'm very confident that I'm receiving quality health care. I highly recommend Dr. Tran for your health care needs. read more
