In years past, they've used traction, heat etc. to bring me relief. For the last few years, my only therapy has involved stretching. I could literally just look these stretchers up on the Internet. And now we're starting to shift back from wearing masks. Oy vey.

I don't care that I just learned to run almost 3 miles straight without stopping, and that I'm an older person, and it might not be so good for my frame. I love running and I demand the pain stop! And that was my longest run-on sentence yet, speaking of running! I have gone here previously for another pretzel logic body issue and was cured by the laying of the hands. I actually have never had any experience, (lucky me), with physical therapy until I went here. I am used to going to chiropractors that seem to 'force' your body in to poses to align the bones back in to place. That never seems to work for me because I am just so tense from the pain and the acrobatic chiro-ography, (if you will). I entered in to one of their rooms and the curtain is pulled. My physical therapist was very patient and asked me to explain the whats, and wheres, and how comes. Once I did this, the magic began. She had me do poses that you would normally do in real life, and then she placed her arms in different positions over areas of my body. I immediately started to tense up, but she did not grab me like a knot and force, but just gently pulled and, sometimes pushed. I trusted her at that point. As she was working over me using various positions, she was actually speaking in tongues, well, ok she was talking to herself, or perhaps singing that bone connection song to figure out the puzzle. For those of you that understand PT talk, my pelvic frame was out of whack, T12 and L3 as well. We are still working out the kinks and I know we will have success after a few more sessions.

My experience with the pharmacy has also improved significantly, and communication seems much better overall--no more unnecessary hold-ups. As usual, the staff have been great. I just wish they had more support and incentives to help them continue providing the care they're capable of. I may have been a little hasty with my previous post. I gave this place 4 stars, but unfortunately, my PTSD is making it difficult to maintain that rating. I really need a private room. The room I'm in was private until a couple of days ago, when a new person was moved in. He is very loud and frequently yells threatening things, and it has turned the situation into a nightmare for me. I appreciate the improvements I've seen, and I hope they can find a way to accommodate my need for a private room. That would make a tremendous difference in my experience here.

Never brought it. Requested a cup of coffee same result. Roommate had gastric issues. The room stunk and no one checked on my relative to move her. All in all a miserable 22 hours of care. Got her out in less than a day. Not even can say bad care, just no care!!! Only put someone you dislike or are trying to get rid of in this place

Both my parents were residents at Silvia and John's for 3 years, and in that time they were loved, respected and cared for in a most professional and dignified manner. Sylvia, her family and staff were always available to answer questions and kept me informed as needed. The facility is clean, well staffed and peaceful. The food is delicious and nutritious- the offer to sit and enjoy a meal in the dining room with family is a tradition- a welcome one at that! Sylvia and John's always felt like home to me.

Not only is the residence beautiful but it's clean and spotless, inside and out, ALL THE TIME (we have 4 family members floating in/out, day/night, unannounced, on a weekly basis). The food is GREAT. The soups & desserts are usually homemade, and delicious, using fresh ingredients. And, the care and the Caregivers are excellent. Sylvia & her staff of 8 (includes 4 family members) are gentle, nurturing, efficient & very caring. They work hard at making sure your family member is happy, safe and well cared for. Also, there are grandchildren ranging in ages from 3-19 who show up occasionally. They're all extremely well behaved and friendly. My mom enjoys seeing and hearing the children's voices in the background. My 92 yr old mother's room is large, has her own private bath, and their prices were right in line with the other facilities/homes we visited. We're extremely happy with the decision we made in moving her to Sylvia & John's.
