This is the one of the newly refurbished part of the Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge. The concourse was initially developed in the 80s as a commercial place, but it has since had different changes over the years. The latest change has seen it as one of the best eating facilities in the NHS; it serves staffs, patients and families in Cambridge and surrounding areas.
Just sitting in the concourse and watching people go about their activity on a busy lunch period makes my day more pleasant. It is one of the little places that you meet people from all walks of life. The environment is very welcoming and conducive for having your meal along side with over 60 people. There is even a wireless network, which is a bonus as I can check my mails while I munch away. There are also computers close to the reception area with internet access that you can use free.
The beauty of the concourse lays in the variety of shops you get, the convenience stores, upper crust, tratorria, not just jackets, burger king, coffee bars, clothes shops and hair salon amongst other stores. The food served in the concourse are pizza, pies, jacket potato with all sort of topping, baguette and all type of sandwiches you can think. The coffee bars also serve their own cakes, muffins and pastries. You will definitely be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what to eat for lunch.
The location is the best part, as it is very convenient to walk few minutes to have your lunch without spending half of your lunch break looking for where to eat. read more
