It has the usual High Street names, ie Dorothy Perkins, River Island, Burtons, Claires Accessories, Thorntons etc. they also ocaasionally have small stalls set out in the middle selling gifty type items. They do special events in the school holidays and to promote other keys times, ie Halloween or Christmas. It has an undercover carpark attached, which is not too expensive and is good for when it is raining. There are two coffeee shops in the middle, my favourite is Esquires. All in all, this is a good place to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, for some retail therapy.

The food department, though small has a lot of stock and you can pick up anything from frozen food, to ready meals, snacks or that indulgent treat at the end of the week. They have an okay selection of wine (Could do better but it is a small store and what they stock is good quality wine) and a good selection of soft drinks. This is a good place to pop to before a party to pick up a nice food item to impress.

However, it does have a good range of everyday type stores, including boots, marks and spencer, monsoon, top shop, next, dorothy perkins, new look, 3 jewellery stores, various mobile phone, game, elesctical type shops. It is situated in welwyn garden city town centre which has a John Lewis, argos and a lot of the other usual type town centre style shops. The train station has it's office upstairs in the Howard centre which makes travel to and from welwyn garden city town a dream. There are two multi story car parks, one at either end of the centre and a number of other car parks surrounding.

I went to the store at he weekend to buy some things for my new home - bins, pillows, cutlery storage, towels... and I am happy to say they had virtually everything on the list (although some was on the pricey side and I bought elsewhere). It wasn't easy to find everything - the kitchen department is a bit haphazard, but if you hunt you'll eventually find what you're after. The main problem with the store in Welwyn Garden City is the building. There are three floors and it's a maze. Different areas are in separate small rooms so it's very difficult to find what you're looking for. I feel like a floor plan or more signs would be really helpful because it would be very easy to get lost. The website suggests there's store parking (for a fee), but even if you can't find that there are many options nearby.

First looked at toiletries. Now they may cost a bit less that department stores but I had never heard of the brands so am I saving money? There were rails of clothes etc at £5, £10, £15..great I thought but they are so obviously catalogue returns or overmakes as they all seem to be tiny sizes..now I am 5ft 8 and woman shaped. It's definitely not the cheapest clothes shop out there, but you can always guarantee quality with Next, and I think you pay a fair price for what you get. Clothes that I buy easily last for the time that my child is in them and are still in good enough condition to be passed onto a second and third child. I think children, particularly boys, make a good test of the quality of clothing since they know how to wear them out quickly, and Next has definitely surpassed the quality test better than any other clothes brand my children own. While many clothes stores seem to have a continuous sale, which often appears as a ploy just to get people through the door, Next are one of the few shops to offer a genuine sale at a few select times of the year. People do go totally crazy for the Next sale though, and I personally find it a crowded nightmare, but there are definitely bargains to be had!

Yes the signs outside with the offers on can make the place look a little tacky, but ignore it and you'll find a great store with good items for only a pound. They sell items for, gardening, food & drink, beauty, pets, clothing, cleaning, health, art, dvds and cds, headphones and more. There are often offers for 2-for-1 on items too so it can be even cheaper. This is a great place to stock up on essentials such as toothpaste, mouthwash, tea and coffee, plasters. So a good place to stop before a holiday or a festival. The only thing I'd say is go to Poundland first before doing the rest of your shopping because the place gets packed and you won't be able to move about otherwise.
