They do special events in the school holidays and to promote other keys times, ie Halloween or Christmas. It has an undercover carpark attached, which is not too expensive and is good for when it is raining. There are two coffeee shops in the middle, my favourite is Esquires. All in all, this is a good place to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, for some retail therapy.

The inside has now transformed into a variety of mini shops: barbershop, book shop, bridal shop, antique shops, and a garden center. There's also a cafe and tea spot. You never know what you'll find. If you have a spare 30 minutes and are in the area, stop by to walk around and smell the historic smells, learn about the watermill, and continue on your way. Tip: there were lots of books here for only £1. That's a win in my BOOK.

Particularly good if you get their promotional stuff (e.g. Lynx shower gel 2 for 1 nice!).

We played miniature golf at Mulligan's, bowled at Hollywood Bowl, hit the arcade for a couple of hours, and then had lunch at Wagamama. Honestly, it made for a perfect day. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews - maybe Stevenage just doesn't have many Yelpers. If you're in the area, it's a great spot to hang out with family and/or friends!

Yay! This store was a life saver for a dreadful overnight wait at Luton Airport. It was terrible…read morearriving at this secluded airport at 11:30pm, knowing I had a 6am flight. Why did I get here so early? You can read the back story below* if you're really interested, but be forewarned, it'll probably only confuse and slightly annoy you. Getting back to this great little shop. I always enjoyed seeing these stores everywhere, and although they are pricy to US standards (well, everything is, right?) I like to stop in and look at the beautiful packaging of the products and neat store layout. Since I couldn't check in till 4am, there were no left luggage areas and all the comfy areas to camp out were taken, I figured hunkering down with a rose would be the best idea. Luckily for me there were several others in the airport with the same predicament. Most were either already asleep, or maybe trying to drift off with their headsets on. A few looked as defeated as I did, with absolutely nothing to do in the check-in area, and being absolutely too far away from anything to even consider leaving the airport at this hour. Then, my rose and I made a few friends with other fellow wait-ers, and together we were able to pass the long hours before our flight with light conversations and delicious olives and snacks from Mark & Spencer. It was because of that, our time at this little desolate airport into a bearable experience! And I am sure we were not the only ones. I'll definitely appreciate the nice staff and this 24 hour shop for helping me out through this tough time. You guys lifted my spirits and wellness through your lovely variety of excellent products! *The back story; the reason why I was lucky enough to be chillin at Luton Airport in the first place: (Because my transit time from where I was staying in London central is about 2 hours unless I booked a hotel room next to this little airport (which I was too cheap to do), I would have had to taken a taxi at 2 am as my connecting train would was not running on normal schedule. Now, why did I book my flight out of Luton when it's so far? Here's another silly mistake I made. I booked a last minute flight through Ryanair (it was very expensive; never again will I make such a fool's mistake!) and needed to get to Dublin via London. So, my inital flight was from Luton, and I had to RUSH to get to Gatwick airport (nuts!) to make this Dublin flight. All was well once I returned to London, until of course I remembered how far Luton was, and that my flight wasn't until 6am. Now why 6am? Because I forgot that the US was the only ones who use a 12 hour am/pm format, and I booked the 6am flight thinking very absent mindly it was a 6pm flight. Real sharp, I know. So, since I already made such a blunder with the entire trip, I figured I should suck up my mistakes and make my lovely flight without wasting anymore pounds. So, if that wasn't confusing enough for you, let's just say that after a series of very short-sighted bad decisions and being awake for almost 2 days, the 24-hour Mark & Spencer shops was truly a savior when it came to having to wait until my check in time. I think i must have been invisable as i waited until the salesman had served another customer but he just ignored me and went on to serve a couple that had just entered the department.He then called for help but unfortunately nobody came. i finally walked out. What a waste of my afternoon.No wonder their sales are dropping. I had travelled about 12 miles there to order a fridge freezer as my own has packed up and i needed to order one straight away. I went to the store at he weekend to buy some things for my new home - bins, pillows, cutlery storage, towels... and I am happy to say they had virtually everything on the list (although some was on the pricey side and I bought elsewhere). It wasn't easy to find everything - the kitchen department is a bit haphazard, but if you hunt you'll eventually find what you're after. The main problem with the store in Welwyn Garden City is the building. There are three floors and it's a maze. Different areas are in separate small rooms so it's very difficult to find what you're looking for. I feel like a floor plan or more signs would be really helpful because it would be very easy to get lost. The website suggests there's store parking (for a fee), but even if you can't find that there are many options nearby.

However, it does have a good range of everyday type stores, including boots, marks and spencer, monsoon, top shop, next, dorothy perkins, new look, 3 jewellery stores, various mobile phone, game, elesctical type shops. It is situated in welwyn garden city town centre which has a John Lewis, argos and a lot of the other usual type town centre style shops. The train station has it's office upstairs in the Howard centre which makes travel to and from welwyn garden city town a dream. There are two multi story car parks, one at either end of the centre and a number of other car parks surrounding.

The trains run from here which is nice if you have time to spare. The upstairs shops are a bit boring and are often closed on a Sunday, so check before you come.
