I was extremely disappointed with my visit yesterday. A staff member tried to sell me a painful…read moreprocedure that was not medically necessary. The cost was more than the advertised dental implant. A staff member claimed I needed a bone graft. That was a lie; there was no infected tooth that needed to be extracted. I had the tooth extracted over two years ago and a bone graft performed with the membrane at that time. There was no infection at the time the tooth was removed either. Next, she stated that the bone graft was not hard, it was too soft in the middle and had not completely healed, that is why I needed a new bone graft. That was a lie because the X-ray showed healthy bone, no infection anywhere and the bone graft had taken and was completely healed and ready for an implant. I questioned her misrepresentation because there was nothing in the xray to support her statement and the average time a bone graft takes to heal is 3 to 6 month. Today, I contacted the dentist who did the extraction and bone graft over 2 years ago, and met with him this morning. He also confirmed that the bone graft was completely healed and hardened, and ready for the implant. He asked me if the dentist told me these things about the bone graft, because if he had, he recommended I report him to the medical board. I explained to him, that it was the doctor's assistant who made these false representations, I assume to jack up the price of the implant (bait and switch advertising tactic). I also shared with him the assistant's claim that she was going to show the X-ray to another specialist to get a second opinion, but I don't believe a word she said, because the dentist who examined me; I'm assuming he was a dentist and can clearly see the area does not require another bone graph. That being said, I've had several consultations with dentists that have clean offices, and newer state of the art equipment, including CT equipment; all have stated the area is ready for an implant, no issue with the location of my sinuses, there's plenty of room for the implant, and no dentist ever stated I needed a second bone graft in the, tooth 13 area. I've had a dental implant before and felt the price was high so I was shopping around for a better price, but compared to what the Norwalk office quoted me, the other dentist price was lower than what the staff quoted. She stated the implant would cost $2,800, not the advertised price of $1,299. That is false advertising. By the way, the average cost for a bone graft and membrane on a single tooth is $150 to $300. That being said, the office exam rooms and equipment were very old and visibly dirty, including the floors, walls, and entrance. The dentist's license was an old photocopy taped over someone else's license at the front desk. The address on the license was not for that location. The entire experience was very sketchy, and they did not appear to have the equipment in that location to perform any kind of dental procedure, especially a dental implant. Also, I was there for over an hour and did not see any other patients which was a red flag? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but it's difficult when you've been deliberately misled. The only positive thing was their X-ray tech Sergio, he was very pleasant and professional.

This business is on a corner with very limited parking in the back of the building. There was loud music coming from the business next door that you could hear through the walls when trying to speak with the receptionist. The dental office is very cramped due to the narrow hallway and small open rooms. They took x-rays first without asking us. When I questioned the technician about this, she said they do this for all clients. The doctor was nice enough, but didn't give me the confidence that she could handle the job of making a strong denture that would last for any length of time. She looked in my dad's mouth for a few minutes and to my knowledge, didn't look at any of the x-rays that were taken. My dad's insurance was billed $1200. Since my dad is in his 90's and has a hard time getting around, it is important for me to help him get a decent denture in a comfortable office. This was not the place. I chose to find a different dentist based on our experience at Norwalk Dental Group. After I found the new dentist, I called them up to request a copy of the x-rays they took on our consultation visit to be sent to the new dentist. The Norwalk Dental Group office staff told me that to email these the fee was $150! I asked what the charge would be if I picked them up, and she told me it was still $150! I was appalled at this price, since they had already billed my dad's insurance company for our visit. This is not a reasonable amount to be charged for getting a copy of my dad's xrays. I would NOT recommend using this business for denture work or for seniors with limited mobility.

They work on appointments so you will notice that the clinic is not busy. We were taken in and the dental assistant took a panoramic X-Ray scan of my mom-in-law. Since it's digital the image was already ready. They used a dental CT Scan from Vatech of which I was a former software support specialist. I was surprised on how Vatech has improved their CT Machines with this Green CT, it accomplished everything that a dentist can do. It applaud Vatech for their achievement. Dr. Huh took care of my mom-in-law and has discussed all that will need to be done.

My dentist at Innovative Smiles in Long Beach, CA advised me to get my wisdom teeth extracted and sent me to the partner office in Cerritos, CA. I made an appointment 6-weeks in advance of my procedure and cleared my financial responsibility to the office before treatment day. 1st Visit - November 24, 2025 4 pm Appointment Time: I arrived 15-minutes before my appointment time with my designated driver. The procedure was cancelled after I had already arrived because the office had not provided the required pre-operative instructions in advance of the appointment. The office said there was a mix up with my phone number, which is not possible since they were able to get in touch with me for payments and to confirm my appointment. 2nd Visit- December 16, 2025 4 pm Appointment Time: I followed my pre-operative instructions (12-hour fast), arrived 15-minutes before my appointment time, and was asked to wait 60+ minutes because the doctor was not ready for me at my appointment time. When the doctor took me to the treatment room he told me I would need an additional treatment that would cost $250 on top of the $2k+ I had already paid. He made remarks that the electrocardiogram was not working properly, and to disregard the noise from the equipment. He then proceeded to insert an IV in my arm 13+ times. I know it was at least 13 times because he counted the marks running up and down my arms right in front of me! He failed to correctly insert the IV after more than an hour and sent me home. 3rd Visit - December 22, 2025 8 am Appointment Time: I arrived fasted, 15-minutes before my 8 am appointment, and was not let into the office building until 8:20 am. Once in the office, the doctor set up the ECG machine and again attempted to insert the IV. The doctor stuck a needle in my black and blue arms, bruised from the previous visit, 13 additional times. The doctor failed to insert the needle into a vein in either of my arms, hands, or my ankle. The office secretary said management would be in touch and issue me a full refund. Management did not reach out to me upon my third wasted visit and they did not issue me a full refund that day. After numerous attempts to get in touch with management from my end, they offered to pay me back for services not rendered through a payment plan! After continuous follow ups, I received my outstanding funds on January 16, 2026. For a routine wisdom tooth extraction with sedation, a procedure any competent oral surgeon should easily be able to perform, I experienced: * Three appointments with no procedure performed * Multiple 90-minute round-trip commutes * Numerous working hours lost for both myself and a designated driver (as required per sedation protocol) * Repeated 12-hour fasting and preparation for procedures that never happened * Physical bruising on my arms, hands, and ankle After months of appointments, preparation, and follow-up calls, I was left with no treatment, unnecessary physical pain, emotional distress, and a significant loss of time and energy. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend seeking dental care anywhere but here.
